How To Play the Main Theme to Pancho Amat's Papá George | Tres Cubano | Tommy Emmanuel | GCE Tuning

Here’s a super quick late-summer Tres tutorial: How To Play the main theme of Pancho Amat’s ‘Papá George’ (written by Tommy Emmanuel).
I absolutely love this tune. It’s on Pancho’s newest recording ‘El Swing Del Son’ released at the start of 2019. I first heard ‘Papa George’ on Tommy Emmanuel’s 2010 live release ‘Center Stage’ and it was my favorite song on the record. Tommy went to Cuba in 2016 and played with a bunch of Cuba’s best including Pancho. When I saw that Pancho put ‘Papá George’ on his lasted record I was delighted.
Pancho Amat tunes his Tres like the top three strings of a guitar (GBE) but I decided to transcribe in standard C (GCE) because most Treseros tune that way.

I just got that album (El Swing del Son) and was surprised to see the Tommy Emmanuel song on it. Him and his brother Phil were the guitar virtuosos in Sydney during the 80’s. Sounds fab when played on tres!
