      I also make all my sounds in my songwriting. I have 10000 init sounds I REALLY need to save. Ray you're honestly a real inspiration to me. Im glad there's someone else who's actually a legend that also doesn't have a super tech approach. Love you man. Seen you about 3 times now and you're always dope. Your set at bass canyon 2023 was awesome and then I saw you at thunder dome 2024 and you were the set that really got me into the show. You make really dope mixes live. At one point you got frisky and went off script and it was some nasty quarter note riddim bass you looped and accidentally dropped the drums in off time. I went fucking BANANAS 🍌 the most grimey hood riddim shit I've ever heard from you. And THEN you got on the mic and said that's proof of live djing as if it sounded bad. You're a good person and I appreciate you. You sir are a legend in dubstep. You've inspired so many people. You must learn to know this.

    I really like that Ray Volpe gives his team the equal spotlight and says how much he appreciates them. I often cringe when I hear big artists(especially singers/rappers- most have producers and mixing/mastering engineers supporting them) take all the credit when they have a bunch of people helping them with their projects. Think about all the people doing visuals, marketing, mixing/mastering, live visuals for festivals.

    Ray, you know how to make music. The fact that you think you can’t is proof

    Can't lie. I became a huge ray volpe fan in 2016 when i first heard the marshmello Ritual remix and Overflow. Outerworld and Bermuda, Mind Games, and ESPECIALLY the remix with getter for GTA are still some of my fav songs in the entire genre. I still loved his music just as much through 2019-2021, but right now i feel like he's just doing festival briddim by the numbers with a bit more style for the sake of commercial success. I love to see that he's growing so much as an artist but I feel like his music has lost its personality and energetic touch that made me and many others such a massive ray volpe fan for so long. It felt like he was the only guy still making dubstep in the style that i loved throughout the 2010s and i had so much respect for that. Kinda torn on that idea because obviously that won't get you anywhere in this scene at the moment. Idk man i love to see him get the success i have always felt he deserved but i can't stand the circumstances in which it came. The stompy distorted style of dubstep that has ruled this scene for the last half decade is just not good or interesting

      @jayjaybirdsnest Месяц назад +3

      Gotta disagree. his stuff has gotten immensely better over the past few years even just the sheer quality of it alone, an artist cannot stick to the one style for decades and expect to make a living - people grow, evolve etc.

    When Ray Volpe talked about people being afraid of appearing cringe in social media posts it made me think of Salvatore Ganacci. Now I don't think he is cringe(absolutely hilarious actually) but some people may think he is. Point being is that the quality of cringe is subjective and even then the cringe aspect may have some charm to it that people will regardless be fascinated(just be confident in what you choose to do). In the same way Salvatore Ganacci has gained a lot of attention towards his music and his branding. Also you don't have to be liked by everyone and at times having somewhat of a cult following is better than having surface level followers.
