There is plenty of contradictions and some truths in what he has said 1. In the same Mahabarata, thereare many many instances where people have changed their profession ( and hence varnam) freely - All of the Principle characters have this mixed varnams . Varnams to my knowledge is based on what you do and you can change that - 2. At the same time , there are instances in manu Smiriti ( and a bit in Bhagavad Gita) where we see how the varna system had its degradation. ( There is a discussion that some of these were inserted later on , but not sure) 3. Bhagavad Gita - What appalls me is that DudeVicky has not read Bhagavad Gita at all - there are few portions that does describe caste - but that is more of what was there in then society - predominant 99% of the material in Bhagavad Gita is around realisation of soul in multiple paths and wil be beyond the comprehension for most of us . To say that was written for Varna is just too far streched and cheap 4. ON Krishna , it is important to note that he did his duty as detached . 1. In the same Mahabarata, thereare many many instances where people have changed their profession ( and hence varnam) freely - All of the Principle characters have this mixed varnams . Varnams to my knowledge is based on what you do and you can change that -
2. At the same time , there are instances in manu Smiriti ( and a bit in Bhagavad Gita) where we see how the varna system had its degradation. ( There is a discussion that some of these were inserted later on , but not sure)
3. Bhagavad Gita - What appalls me is that DudeVicky has not read Bhagavad Gita at all - there are few portions that does describe caste - but that is more of what was there in then society - predominant 99% of the material in Bhagavad Gita is around realisation of soul in multiple paths and wil be beyond the comprehension for most of us . To say that was written for Varna is just too far streched and cheap
4. ON Krishna , it is important to note that he did his duty as detached . When you are a king, you have to do the duty and not get carried away by false dharma .
