Great to see more 8th Doctor. If only the BBC would give him a series while McGann still looks young enough to pull it off.

This really is a stunning set. Once again your BF insight provides a useful angle for the commentary!

I got the new figures set and I haven't even open them because you never might know they will be very rare in the boxes in future so keep up the good work

And I made a Dalek emperor for the 8th doctor because it will be fantastic

It's an odd decision to make a series of releases for the high street based on some Audio series that the general public will be unaware of. With this 8th Doctor release in particular the appeal is even more limited as even the average strata of Doctor Who fan will not be aware of the blue jacketed 8th Doctor and the Dark Eyes/Doom Coalition series, so a real _niche_ release this one. And likely as such to become a real collectors item and oddity in years to come...
This release is the one I was able to find, the only one in the shop at that, so I appreciate it as I do have those Big Finish releases above and by coincidence am listening to Dark Eyes 3 at the moment, but *is* this figure really all that accurate to the 8th Doctor seen on the promotional images of the Big Finish releases? I have my doubts personally. Reusing the 9th Doctor figure as a base was very clever, but it is a chunkier broader figure than Paul McGann's mass and the head looks more a pastiche of McGann's facial features than an accurate recreation. I don't have antipathy to this figure, but neither am I in awe of it as I am with the Harry Sullivan and Silver Nemesis Doctor.
And in the end - it doesn't matter! I did worry about these three sets and their incredibly small appeal and apparent reliance to people familiar with Big Finish, but after further thought I realise Character Options haave actually been very clever, by making these a Dalek pack THAT is the hook that will be appealing to the general public, especially in the runup to Christmas. Want a present for young 'Timmy'? Why here's a Doctor Who release, with Daleks!! Sold....
