Great pantry and practical use with the roller door. Another option would be to use the roller door but have it slide inside the lid or on top in a single line so that the opening is almost full height. Cheers 🍻
Very nice indeed. Since you mentioned that there are magnets in the bottom of the tombour door and I would suggest there being a bit of a lip to the bottom compartment of the pantry garage, then I think that it would be a good idea to add a shallow lip. Not only would it help keep the door closed, but also help prevent heavier items (canned food and the like) from hitting the door whilst in motion. It would also help to define the line when stocking the pantry so that you know that you can always close the door without having to re-adjust items so that the door will close. I hope that makes sense.
Stumbled acrid your video build for your canopy storage drawers, kitchen build and pantry etc and love your presentation style and details in the videos. Hiding the screws by screwing from behind the timber would give a more seamless look, but love what you've done with those 25mm square joiners and some diy talent. Definitely save paying plenty, they look pretty good and do the job nicely
Needs an elastic net or something that can be easily clipped in and out to stop everything flying everywhere I think, otherwise it looks good. A couple of countersunk cuplike holders for jars would be good too.
Lookin' mint. I assume the shelf is 'upside down' so those sections stop things from moving around? Yeah, a metal strip at the bottom for the magnets to 'lock' too would be a way to keep it closed and offer a small lip to stop things sliding out freely.
Is the roller door long enough that you can mount the roller door housing at the back? If it is, you can simply extend the guide track along the ceiling of your pantry cupboard with a gentle curve at the front to connect it to the guide track you installed. Alternatively, can you use the roller door without the housing? By creating a guide track along the top of your cupboard and connecting this to the track you fitted (via a curved guide/track). That way, the roller door housing is at the rear (or non-existent) and won't block part of your top shelf. 🤔
Hey mate, good suggestion there! The door isn't 'long' enough mount the coil pieces anywhere else, but I could potentially do away with it and just run extra tracking along the roof so the door essentially remains in it's extended state, just on the roof. I'll see how it goes for now but might be worth revisiting in future 🙂
Heya Bud.. New to your channel. Watched a few of your Vids. Just have to say awesome job your doing on that fitout. Explained so well and easy to follow your instructions... Especially if you're a newbe to electrical etc. Defo be watching what else you do to your canopy..cheers Mate.. 👍🍻
Nice and clean job Danial. Like that vinyl on the inside mate. Fantastic. When is was thinking about how to hold the roller door down Maybe a strip of magnet tape will do the trick for you. They used that on our fly screens on all the windows in the house and still going strong after 30 years
Hey mate! The 25 x 25mm box tube can be sourced from most aluminium suppliers, or Bunnings, and the joiners themselves are from Bunnings (called 'Connect-it' joiners).
Thanks mate!! Yep we're planning to be at both the Melbourne and the Perth 4WD shows this year - will post on the channel/insta once it's confirmed but would love to catch up with everyone. 😀
Ever though about doing this as a business? You seem to love it and I'm sure youd find customers wuite easily especially with the few setups you've done now. The canopy architect 🤣
I appreciate the thought! I’m proud of my work but I still think it’s a bit too ‘diy’ to sell to a customer, and it takes me way to long to make stuff 😂
Thanks mate! That's for two reasons, the first is to stop contents shuffling forwards and leaning on the roll-up door while we're driving along, and the second is that the middle beam will hopefully keep contents in the front half to make it easier for my partner to reach because she's a bit shorter than me haha.
As always, I love your work. Thank you for sharing with us. Wondering why you put the connect it on top of the middle shelf? Imagine to stop items sliding?
Thanks mate! Haha I was expecting to get a few comment about that and you're spot on! My hope is that the front rail of the support frame will stop things shuffling forwards and leaning on the door, and the middle section of the frame will hopefully keep things in the front section of the pantry so my partner who's a bit shorter can reach those items. 🙂
As always, well thought out! I am currently remodelling/improving an old soft floor camper trailer and will be using some connect it thanks to you. Keep up this type of content, love it.
Jesus mate get a patent on that design. I can guarantee some actual fabrication companies will be knocking this door kind of set up out in the future. Wicked design. The connect it stuff... is that sturdy and tough, mostly the corner joiners. Seems to be a good way to knock stuff up for the more basic diy person. Does it stand up to off road punishment?
Haha thanks mate!! Regarding the Connect-it, it depends how it's used. If there's long runs that aren't supported and 'move around' over corrugations etc then the joiners eventually wear out and break (I've had this happen). But if used correctly in a rigid design I've found them to be very strong and long lasting. 🙂
That's to prevent items shuffling forward and 'leaning' on the pantry door while I'm driving along, and the middle support keeps key items in the front section making them easier to reach (hopefully haha). 🙂
Yeah that would definitely be a bit neater haha. Unfortantely I have had a bad run with black screws lately with them snapping off with minimal force - let me know if you know of any good suppliers!
I use normal gal or zinc screws, poke em all standing up in cardboard and give them a quick squirt of Matt black paint 😉. Same as you, I've had a few black screws snap at the head way too easily
You are very skilled at what you’re doing has been a pleasure to watch this build unfold.
Rather than a steel strip, just counter sink screws for the door magnets. For strong black screws try drywall screws. Nice work BTW.
You've got some very creative solutions. Keep up the great work mate.

Thanks for the ideas. When you’re assembling that aluminium pipe / tube and plastic joiners, use a soft faced mallet / hammer

Love the roll up door idea. Looking for one now.

That door is a bloody brilliant idea cant wait to see what idea ya pull out next and im sorry im so using this if i can find it ha ha ha
Well done.😀

20 out for 20 for that install impressed
This looks awesome! Love it.
Great work there Cobb
Thank's for sharing
Looks the good mate , nice work
Well done, that is top shelf ! 👍
Really coming along nicely, that roller door is trick!
Thanks mate!! 😀

I don't think it's a housing. But I get what you mean. Have it roll up at the rear or just go horizontal along the top.

@@explorebound And you could potentially use part of the coil track (curve piece) as part of the transition track from vertical to horizontal.
Great idea and looks good. Thanks for new canopy idea ;) Cheers
great job Daniel, love the sliding door also
Thanks! 🙂

Appreciate that mate, thanks!
Awesome.
Great vid mate
Good to see someone think outside the box and getting the tools out to try somethong new.
Rolla door idea looks great
Thanks mate really appreciate that!
looks the bomb, well done
Great solution. Well done it looks mint🤌
What a killer idea! Very unique, nice one mate:)
Thanks mate! 🙂
Been having similar dilemma. THANKYOU for sharing

Very cool buddy ❤
Looks great. Clean build.
Nice job
Love the DIY videos mate!
Hey question, where did you get the black square tubes and connectors from??
Hey mate! The 25 x 25mm box tube can be sourced from most aluminium suppliers, or Bunnings, and the joiners themselves are from Bunnings (called 'Connect-it' joiners).
@@explorebound thanks man! I did have a look at Bunnings but they probably were out of stock!
I wonder if it would be lighter to use the vinyl or something rather than carpet to cover everything
Mate you never cease to amaze me absolute gem of a pantry
Thanks mate!! 🙂
hey daniel - what kind of credit card did you use for the vinyl? any chance you could share the the 12 digits on the front and the 4 on the back? 😂
Haha oh sure, it's 4234 643... wait a minute!
Ha ha thanks for showing us your bits 😂
Gosh I love these build eps ✅
Looking good, Will you be at any 4wd/Camping shows in the future. Would be keen to come say hi. From Kwinana ;)
Thanks mate!! Yep we're planning to be at both the Melbourne and the Perth 4WD shows this year - will post on the channel/insta once it's confirmed but would love to catch up with everyone. 😀

What's your plan for the space in between the fridge and the draw and pantry mate? Great build btw 👌
I'm currently building up a temporary storage box for the interim, but long term there will be a large pull-out pantry in that space. 🙂
Only problem with the glue it does smell for a while
That is very true haha
Those box metal corners are amazing. thanks for sharing that!
Best setup I have ever seen
Looks mint mate i might have missed the reason if you said it but why did you put the aluminium frame on top of the shelf rather than underneath?

@@explorebound nice !! Great work man
Great job. Out of interest why did you put the ali frame for the middle shelf on the top instead of the bottom so you don’t have a nice flat surface?
Lol I see you already answered someone else now. As you were. Great job mate
great!
Clean👍

Great vid mate, door idea is the ducks nuts, for screws like that i use black nailpolish, apply before install and touch up whenever needed

Thanks for the reply. Looks great.
Can you also please drop the diagram of the build for this like you did with your draw build?
Yep can do! My mockup is pretty rough so I'll perfect it a bit and upload it 🙂
Noice Build
I would get some black screws, but that's just me.

..and I’ll do it again!! 😂
