Who wants to get caught up?? Having projects in progress to have to look forward to working on brings joy to your day, every day. Don't ever get caught up!
Thank you for the WIP parade and I'd say you have a fairly manageable amount, although there are a few "beasts" in there, but they are all great designs. Congratulations on 68 finishes, no matter how small or large, that's a tremendous accomplishment. I do love your Nora Corbett Reindeer, they are so striking...I'll be cheering you on from here in New Hampshire.
Smalls or no smalls, your progress on finishes is off the charts! I always enjoy your videos and look forward to seeing them. You’re one of the most down-to-earth, keep-it-real stitchers on Flosstube. Thanks for continuing these for us. There’s always inspiration in every one of them. Happy New Year, and all the best to you and your family in 2024! 🎉 See you next time!
I don't care how small they are, that's an impressive finish amount. I can't get through that many smalls at this point in my stitching career. A very fun WIP parade, thanks for sharing!
68 finishes is amazing, no matter the size! Great WIP parade Helen. Looking forward to your 2024 progress. I love your Book It SAL...I struggle with wanting to continue full coverage progress but wanting smaller, seasonal pieces done too so we'll see what this year brings. -Kim H.
I love your WIP parades! My son gave me the Snow Queen pattern for Christmas! I plan to get fabric, floss, and beads as my birthday gift in February! We can be stitch buddies! 🤣😜
Loved this. Seasonal Stitcher Unite!!! My sister keeps telling me if I started stitching on things earlier I would have them done in time for the particular holiday or season. But she is also sweet and says not to worry - there will always be another ( fill in the blank) next year. And she and my husband don't mind me putting something I finished right after the holiday , up for a few weeks. Lol.
I really loved all of your wips, Helen you made my laugh because I also put my scroll rods in a pillow case, let me know when you’re tutorial comes out!!!!!! 💚😂💚
Loved it! I’m reiterating as others have that I’m now inspired to get my butt in gear. Trying to organize WIPs, charts and floss. I’m a little overwhelmed…but I’ll get there! I don’t have THAT much stuff, I tell myself. But it sure adds up over many, many years of stitching. I’ve run across a few that I just need to finish or let them go. It’s interesting to me how something I just loved three years ago is now meh. Take care, Sally in Northern California 😁
I always enjoy your videos. It would have made me happier if it had been longer. I also have Live on Little that is going to get started this year. Happy Stitching to you this new year.
I love watching your flosstubes. They are so encouranging - I always feel as though I can see progress on my own WIPS when I see how you manage yours. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Helen, I use scroll frames on my big projects, and I have that I roll my rods in the other direction so the stitches are on the , I'm touching the back of my rock. The front of my projects stay cleaner. Good luck with your new frames.
Yeah that was so fun! I love all of your wips! I haven’t even been through mine yet but I know I have some I don’t care to ever finish ! My taste have drastically changed over the last few years!😂 could be age? Thanks for the fun and blessings into 2024❄️🩵❄️
Enjoyed the wip parade. I went thru and ufo’d one project and un kitted four projects. That leaves me with a more manageable 24 projects, lol. Your snow day project is perfect, I didn’t pick a snow day project and it’s a good thing because where I am in NH we have had one tiny dusting of snow so far! Unbelievable and I’m hoping we don’t get dumped on just before spring, ugh. So many wip parades, I’m so far behind, I haven’t even caught up with flossmas videos! Thanks for sharing Helen and Happy New Year.
Helen, I use my phone and take a picture of any copies that I make, then use my phone to stitch with. In that way, I can enlarge the pattern to see the design better. Then I delete it when I am finished. Just a thought because it worked really wel for me. Happy New Year and happy stitching!
Your # of finishes is amazing. And don’t forget to mention that the majority of your finish are also fully finished. Also, I think you are much more organized with your planning than you give yourself credit for. I’ve watched other WIP parades and the # of WIP’s goes far beyond organized and impossible to complete in a year. I’m interested in your scroll rod stitching. Are you using a stand to hold your rod and if so, what stand do you have. I would also love to see how your scroll rods are set up for mounting your fabric. I so want to go back to using scroll rods but it’s been so long that I need a refresher course!😊. I also may need to update mine. Thanks for a fun video. And, Happy New Year.
My wip number had gotten up into the 30's in the past and that was too much for me, so I reeled it in. I do have a Lowery stand that will hold my scroll rods. I'm still figuring out the best set up for using them. I'll definitely show the rods off more in my next regular video.
I just found you on your plans for next year video. I really enjoy your videos. I tried q-snaps alone and with the frame. I just couldn’t hold them. I use Nurge hoops after trying a bunch of the ones I could find in the local box stores. My favorite is to use scroll frames. I have two different lap frames and two different floor stands. One of each are from my 30 years ago don’t really use them anymore. I prefer my newer ones as they are a much better design. I loved seeing your WIPS. I love how you just do your video and don’t ramble on for an hour and a half. Thank you. I try to watch flosstubes but when they are that long I get to where I skip them. I have been frogging it a lot lately. I think that I am going to have to stick with 28 count or 14 count from here on in. I will try to use up my other counts but not sure about it with my eyes. Have a great year of stitching.
I use magni clips they go on your regular glasses like those sunglasses that clip on, the difference is they are much lower so you can still see TV over them. I buy them from Amazon. I saw other stitchers on Flosstubes wearing them. With them I thought I could use some higher count linen, but alas no not worth all the frogging.
Hello Helen. Loved your a video. I just have one suggestion regarding your scroll bar projects. Roll tte fabric the other way so while you are stitching your actual fabric is down, not up on top. It will keep your piece cleaner. Because the oils from your arms will have stuff on it like lotion etc and you won’t be touching your front of your project, you will be touching the back because of the way you rolled it. It’s kinda like when you put a piece into a hoop with the material deep in the hoop. I have used a scroll frame for years. They are great. You need a stand to put it on. You can get it at Hobby Lobby and if your husband is handy with a table saw send me a message and I can send you pics of the one I have.
Thank you! I'm definitely going to roll it the other way. I have a Lowery which holds the smaller frame no problem. I haven't tried it with the bigger one yet. 😊
Great podcast! It’s nice to see that some flosstubers still like aida 😊. I’m in my 60’s now and find the smaller count evenweaves too hard to see but still want to stitch. May I ask how many strands you typically use on 14 ct. Look forward to your next flosstube. Happy stitching 😊.
I always love watching your floss tubes and see what you are stitching or a tutorial of yours. I did quite a few Halloween and Christmas stitches but don't like to FFO. Well I guess I have close to a year to finish them. I'm digging out spring patterns now to start on. Hopefully I will get them FFO'd. I can always hope!! LOL
Hi Helen! Great WIP parade! I like how you keep your WIP pile manageable 😊. I was wondering where Snow Queen went to! It was good to see her again. I'm a Q Snap stitcher too, but I'm thinking of eventually trying out scroll rods. I have to invest in some sort of lap stand though because my hands are really aching after holding the larger QSnaps for long periods of time. Do you have some sort of lap frame for your scroll rods? I love the Four Elements piece too. Such great colors! I didnt realize it was that big though! Have a great week😊
Yes, I have a Lowery stand which will hold the scroll rods, though I'm still trying to figure out the best setup. I kind of stopped Snow Queen for a while because I felt like I was damaging the fabric and my stitches having her all jammed up in the q snap. And I had no idea how I was going to bead her because she's so big. I'm hoping the rods are the answer.
Thanks so much, Helen! you do such a great job of finishing ! I was working on the Owl from the 2023 Christmas cross stitch magazine and saw your finish! The pine needles look a whole lot better with a long stitch! Thanks! It was my first time stitching on black Aida and I like your color, too! Repeating what another lady said, "down~to ~earth, keep~it~ real stitcher. Blessed New Year to you and your family!
Happy New Year :) Loved your WIP parade. I'd be afraid to pull out all the WIPS. I do have a spreadsheet, but when I first started back stitching, I pulled floss for several, but haven't even done them yet, so technically they aren't WIPS, right ? Ohh that Autumn ones is gorgeous. Pretty Colors. Happy Stitching !
Helen you are always so inspiring to watch! 63 finishes!!! Woohoo! Small or big it doesn’t matter! That’s fantastic! Plus you fully finish all your pieces! Happy new year and happy stitching! Let’s have a great stitchy 2024!
I am in awe of your reasonable number of WIPs. I am carrying over so many projects that I UFO’d several just to take a break from them and the pressure of them this year. 🤣
Wow your work is fabulous. It is very inspiring. It reminds me when I made big projects. I like the q-snap. I have not tried the scroll screen. It looks nice. There is definitely a learning curve. Thank you for showing work in progress. It shows us that we all work at different paces and we don’t always work on the same projects consistently. Love you channel
Great WIP parade, love the changes you made to Flying Lessons. I started and finished 84 pieces last year, no micro minis. This year has to be an all out FFO focus. Though I started my second stitch for the New Year today 😉 Happy Stitching!
Love seeing your work! You continually inspire me! I just started Live on Little as my new start for 2024. No idea how long it will take, I just knew I wanted to stitch it! Happy New Year!
I missed the size grid you are using on the 4 Elements. I am debating on what to do mine on. Would love to work on it this year. Even when you say you don't plan, I am seeing some plans. 😉
Happy New Year Helen loved your WIPS parade. The Mill Hill ornament is so cute. Is that stitched with 2 strands of thread? All your stitching is beautiful enjoy your videos and tutorials. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing. Wow! You did have a very productive year. Your whips are great. I’m curious, how do you hold your scroll frames when stitching? Boy, your new one is huge.

A pray a happy, healthy, blessed new year for you and your family. 🎉
Helen...loved all you shared❤❤
I loved your WIP parade, so many beauties. You finished so many, only 3 carry overs wow. Happy 2024!
I have a feeling Live on Little will be a carry over for a few more years 😂
♥️🌹🎉😍🤩You are always way ahead…awesome whip parade.
Thank you so much 😊
I love scoll rods. Allows 2 handed stitching and doesn’t cramp my hand
I enjoy seeing projects that are waiting in the wings for progress. I love mill hill kits so I'm looking forward to those. Keep stitching
I really just discovered the Mill Hill kits. They're addicting!
So many fun WIPs 😍 always enjoy your videos. Happy stitching

4 Elements is my fave of your WIPS! 😊
Love your finish and your progress on your wips. Happy stitching!

I'm just the opposite. I struggle with the big pieces, but I'm all over the seasonal smalls! 🤣
Great wip parade ! Happy Stitching
I love your WIP parades! My son gave me the Snow Queen pattern for Christmas! I plan to get fabric, floss, and beads as my birthday gift in February! We can be stitch buddies! 🤣😜
Yeah! It's a beautiful chart!
Lots of stitching fun ahead…it will be great watching your progress.
Thank you! 😊
Great WIP parade! Love love love that BarbaraAna Design! Want to get my hands on it for sure
I was really hoping those designs would be available as just charts at some point, but I haven't seen them yet. She has a Christmas version too.
You can do it Helen, even a big one!
They just take time, right? 😊
Lol.
If I don't get something done before the holiday I just think at least I'm that much closer to actually finishing it next year! 😂
Love seeing all your progress!
New subscriber. I'm so enjoying watching your videos...and learning a lot. Beautiful work.🎉
Thank you, and welcome!
Love seeing all your WIPs. Glad I’m not the only one who calls it Live On Large 🙄
It's a more appropriate name 😉
I really loved all of your wips, Helen you made my laugh because I also put my scroll rods in a pillow case, let me know when you’re tutorial comes out!!!!!! 💚😂💚
I bought a big quilted blanket at Goodwill yesterday to use to make covers. If I can find my desk I'm hoping to start figuring that out next week.
Enjoyed your WIP parade..

I always enjoy your videos. It would have made me happier if it had been longer. I also have Live on Little that is going to get started this year. Happy Stitching to you this new year.
Longer would mean I have more projects that need to be finished! 😂
You get a lot of stitches in there!!
I love watching your flosstubes. They are so encouranging - I always feel as though I can see progress on my own WIPS when I see how you manage yours. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thank you Sally!
"Live on Little" is getting carried over for me also. Wow! 58 finishes in 2023-- and I thought my 28 was good!
Great video again
Great WIPS!
Love Snow Queen & the fabric, so pretty.
Happy New Year!
Marilyn
Oh my gosh Helen, 68 finishes', even if they were small it's a finish. Looking forward to seeing your 2024 videos.
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🎉
Great Parade!
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Awesome WIPs! Sent you an email. 😊
I always enjoy your videos

I was going to say the same thing, reverse the way you wind the linen so your hands rest on the back not the front
💙🖖
Thank you!! I did it the way they showed in the how to video, but that makes way more sense. I'm also going to sew up some scroll rod covers. ❤
@@stitchywitch42you always have my back! ❤
@@helend.flosstube if manage to figure out a way to make scroll rod covers, vcould you make a video showing how? I love your how to videos. Thanks.
I made a cover for my scroll rods, I'll jave to go back to an old video and remind myself how I did it, but it was easy
💙🖖
Happy New Year! Here's to all the WIPs!
Happy New Year enjoyed your wip parade have a wonderful day and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩⛄️🎄❄️🥂🍾🎊
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🎉
Amazing stitching, Helen. You had an amazing number of finishes. Happy new year
You’ve gotten a lot accomplished, I loved the WIP parade
Great WIP parade. You certainly accomplished a lot in 2023. TFS.
Enjoyed

I agree, the snow this season has been weird! We've only had flurries. I guess we may finally get a little this weekend.
Loved your WIP parade!! I think my favorite WIP of yours is the Live on Little. I’m kind of tempted to get it but I’m super intimidated by the size 😂
It's giant! But one stitch at a time, right? 😊
68 finishes is amazing! I think I have 5 or 6😂
Thank you! 😊
I enjoyed seeing all the wips you have to do. I really love watching you.
Thank you Georgie! Happy New Year!
Happy new year 🎉Helen. I need some plans written down but taking a slow start and just enjoying the stitches this new year.
Helen, I use my phone and take a picture of any copies that I make, then use my phone to stitch with. In that way, I can enlarge the pattern to see the design better. Then I delete it when I am finished. Just a thought because it worked really wel for me. Happy New Year and happy stitching!

Congratulations on your finishes in 2023! Whether large or small, a finish is a finish. Happy New Year!

Hi. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year! 🪡👠

I have been frogging it a lot lately. I think that I am going to have to stick with 28 count or 14 count from here on in. I will try to use up my other counts but not sure about it with my eyes. Have a great year of stitching.
I don't enjoy stitching with a magnifier so I stick to lower count fabric too. 😊
Great WIP parade and impressive number of finishes for last year! Can’t wait to see all you stitch this year!
Big or small- a finish is a finish! Great job on your finishes! Thank you for sharing! Happy Stitching!
Thank you! 😊
So many beautiful WIPs! I always enjoy your videos Helen♥️
Enjoyed this video. Happy New Year’s and happy stitching too.
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🎉
Great WIPS! Wonderful finishes even if small! Thanks for sharing!
That was a great wip parade. I finished that Mill Hill house earlier this Fall and cut it out but that’s as far as I got to it being an FFO. 🤣
You're halfway there! ❤
Tree of magic is beautiful! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Great job!❤ Looking forward to seeing what you finish first! Have a great week!
Thank you! 😊
Happy New Year Helen!!!
I love aida! It's come so far since the days of crunchy, white aida. 🤣 I typically use two strands of floss for 14 count.
I need to get out tree of life too and do one section each month.
My plan for that one is to do a section every time I pull it out. Though I doubt it will be every month. 😉
Loved seeing all the current projects!

Nice parade!! 🎉 Love the Blue Ribbon Design chart & color changes. Happy Stitching!!!
Thank you! Isn't that a cute chart?
Happy New Year Helen, looking to fined white perforated paper in 14 count. Also prices that are sky high. Love watching you, your work is beautiful.
All perforated paper seems to be hard to come by these days. 123stitch has it available to order, but it says it won't ship for a while.
Awesome WIP parade Helen!
Happy New Year. Always enjoy your program. Where did your husband get the scroll rods?
He got them from LoveCrafts. They're clip on. I'll show them better in my regular video next week.

Hi Helen great whip parade and Happy New Year 🎊.
Thank you! Happy New Year!
Loved your WIP parade. Congrats on finishing so many projects in 2023!
So surprised you weren't stitching smalls! Good to see you are stitching larger projects for a change! Happy New Year!
I need to, I'm out of space for smalls! 😂
Thanks so much, Helen! you do such a great job of finishing ! I was working on the Owl from the 2023 Christmas cross stitch magazine and saw your finish! You really get a lot accomplished! Didn’t you finish Cardinal Point in 2023? That was huge! Happy stitching!
I actually finished that in December of 2022. I just squeaked it in!
Happy New Year :) Loved your WIP parade. I'd be afraid to pull out all the WIPS. I do have a spreadsheet, but when I first started back stitching, I pulled floss for several, but haven't even done them yet, so technically they aren't WIPS, right ? I was feeling that way a few years ago so I've been working really hard to get my number down. I was hoping for less than ten, but I'll take 14 😂
Happy New Year! You lit a fire under my butt... now to organize what I have. Again, another huge thank you!
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🎉

Gorgeous projects! Look at you showing off with a 2024 finish already. 😂 Happy New Year and Happy Stitching!🎉
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🎉

Great WIP parade, love the changes you made to Flying Lessons. I started and finished 84 pieces last year, no micro minis. This year has to be an all out FFO focus. Though I started my second stitch for the New Year today 😉 Happy Stitching!

We'll just keep plugging away at it! 😂
I missed the size grid you are using on the 4 Elements. I am debating on what to do mine on. Would love to work on it this year. Even when you say you don't plan, I am seeing some plans. 😉
I'm stitching that on a 14 count. If I have a piece with dense stitching like that I prefer to use a 14 or 28 count.
Thanks, Helen. @@helend.flosstube
Happy New Year Helen loved your WIPS parade. The Mill Hill ornament is so cute. Is that stitched with 2 strands of thread? All your stitching is beautiful enjoy your videos and tutorials. Thank you for sharing.
Mill Hill calls for them to be stitched with three strands, but I bet they would look great with two if that's your preference. 😊
Great WIP parade 👌
Thank you for sharing. Wow! You did have a very productive year. Your whips are great.
I’m curious, how do you hold your scroll frames when stitching? Boy, your new one is huge.
That's the question! 😂 I have a Lowery stand which holds the smaller of the two. I haven't tried the big one yet, but I'm crossing my fingers.
Wonderful WIP parade!
