  • Today I want to show you my less pretty lightweight homemade pochade box, also called painter's box that does it's job and that I have been enjoying to use for my plein air escapades :) Here I tell what I used to build it, it's not a diy video but you can get an idea of what you need to be able to build one yourself. I use mine most for gouache and watercolor painting. Lastly you can also see all the art supplies and materials that I take with me.

I made a pochade box with a wood box I ordered on Amazon for $20. Then replaced the hinges with torque hinges and added a tee nut. I also added a magnet to the bottom of my water container and the bottom of the box to keep that from moving around. Also, I added some brackets to the sides so that I can carry it and also attach it around my neck with a long purse strap to stand up and work if it don’t have a tripod. The whole set up cost about $35. It works great.

Thank you jacqulyn ❤️ yes I'm all about reusing things. Art materials are so expensive! I actually made a new pochade box that I need to share here on the channel that might be very useful also. You made my day saying I'm a good RUclipsr 🤗 I really need to start doing videos again on a more regular basis. Lots of love from here and wishing you a happy Sunday 😍

Very clever. Pochard e boxes are so very expensive to purchase in the shops. I also love that you repurposed something, making just exactly what you need. Smart Art!! 👏🏻😁👩‍🎨🎨🖌

Thank you! Yes, they are very expensive! So I figured that I rather build it my self, and last weeks I have changed som smaller things in it again, always trying to adjust to weather, and materials that I use. I'll share that soon, also now that the algorithm picked up that I'm interested in homemade puchade boxes, I'm getting lot's of good suggestions so I also might share that soon so we all can benefit from it :)

Hi Teody, Yes I believe that most of them are made of stainless stil as they are used in boats, autocampers and outdoor kind of use. I had actually found some links but I didn't share them in my video description as I had planned but here they are, may be they can be useful in some way for you :)

I thought this was a Swedish accent but I guess I got it wrong.

It's not a swedish accent, no.. but it's not easy to guess.. I guess :D I'm Danish but grew up in a Spanish speaking country, where I learned to speak English... so a mis match of accents :)
