I legit thought I would see an envelope of French onion soup mix...I am drooling over here!! This dish looks phenomenal especially when I saw that swiss cheese 🤤, I will definitely be giving this one a try!! Thanks for sharing.
Hi guys. My wife wanted pizza but I didn’t have anything I could use as a base. No flour, no bread of any kind, no cauliflower.. nothing. What I did have was some truly enormous mushrooms so I used them as the base. The result was amazing even though they had to be eaten with a knife and fork. Give them a try if you’re ever hungry for pizza and find yourselves in my situation. Cheers from Australia.
I live in Austraila. I'm 68 Years Old. My Mom used to do a easy one. Blade Steak. Buy a Packet of French Onion Soup. Lay out Alumium Foil. Put the Meat and Sprinkle the Soup over it add a couple Table Spoon of Water. Seal the Foil over the Meat. Put the Meat into a Oven Tray. Put just enough Water in the Oven Tray half way up Meat. Moderate Oven 1 Hour. Keep an Eye on it and to up up Water if Requierd. It nice.❤
Your dish looks delicious ❤ I would, for the sake of eating healthy serve it with vegetables. The rule for a plate is: 3/4 vegetables and max. 1/4 meat.
My Grandma "sole" a recipe from a diner for Onion Soup sandwiches. The basics are a lbs. of ground beef browned, seasoned with salt and pepper and drained. Add two heaping tablespoons of AP flour and stir it in, then add a can of onion soup in beef stock. Bring to a boil and then simmer, the longer the better. Serve on a bun. Make plenty extra, 'cause it gets better every time its warmed up! I've made it with beef, venison, turkey and chicken...hey all work!
Dave , very nice recipe & yes on us and the girls, I don't think I would change or add 1 thing to this recipe as I have never made or eaten this. I think green beans on the side , & we like croutons in our French onion soup so that might be the only thing I might add on the top of the chix , the real small garlic flavored croutons sprinkled on top at the end , keep your stick on the ice pal
Hey Steve. Yes, on the green beans for me. I had some with boxed stuffing. Love the idea of croutons too. Hope all is well your way. Take care and see you at the lodge.
Fantastic recipe! The Swiss is the "piece de Resistance" when melted and it frames the gorgeous thickened onion gravy! P.S. you look ruggedly handsome with a full goatee just like my biker brothers!
Hi greetings from Edinburgh Scotland, this looks absolutely delicious, going to get the ingredients tomorrow and give it a try, thanks for sharing, just subscribed.
Hi Dave, really like the idea of your French Onion Chicken it looks so good and I think even I could make this work. Your voice still sounds a little different. Are you using a new microphone or is it still the that cold you had? Great vlog though so keep them coming. Dave W😊
That would be great with some dilly carrots. Is you hat being ironic? And speaking of hats, why do you wear one in them house? Fashion statements? 😉 Or are they merch you have?
Hey Dave, how are things, hopefully ok. I like this recipe, chicken thighs are my favorite, and french onion soup too! I'm going to try this later on next week, thanks for sharing 👍‼️🙂😺
Looks great! Looks like you're feeling better too! Happy to see that! I would love to see your version of a slow cooker pot roast because you always seem to have unique twists and turns in your recipes. Thanks for another great video!
Ah, but that crispy skin ... You can compromise by starting with bone-in, skin on thighs and deboning them. Thighs aren't too hard to do with a good knife and a little practice.

@@TheCooknShare The summer heat is gone and we’re enjoying the blissful weather, no doubt you’re getting some lovely days now too.
We call them stuffed mushrooms.
I made and absolutely delicious. Such a true comfort food, yet elegant. (I didn't use cheese.) I also made mashed potatoes for the sumptuous gravy.

Breakfast of champions!
I loved this recipe. I tried it & it was delish! Instead of chicken broth, I used the French onion soup from Campbell’s! Wow!
Wonderful! So glad that you enjoyed
I made French Onion Chicken years ago. Mine, chicken breast, on a Texas toast bed with provolone cheese.
Yes, this one was so good. Hope you give it a try.
Maybe mashed potatoes 😋

You can always take the skin off.
I have just made your recipe…..it’s great! Easy and so tasty. 😋😋

Theres something wrong with the link it doesn't work thank you
I’ll look into that.
Can this be done with boneless/ skinless chicken breasrs?
Sure it can be. Hope you try them and enjoy.
what if I don't have any swiss cheese, does it need it in order for this to taste good?
It really makes the dish so nice.
Masterpiece 👌

Yes, great idea. I just wear a hat all the time. Must be the lack of hair thing. I am going to get some hats for my merch though.
Hey Dave, how are things, hopefully ok. I like this recipe, chicken thighs are my favorite, and french onion soup too! I'm going to try this later on next week, thanks for sharing 👍‼️🙂😺
Things are well here. Hope they are your way too. Hope you give this one a try.
YUM!
You had me until the cheese. Serve it over rice and dump the bread
You don’t have to add the cheese.
I agree. This one doesn't want cheese. Mushrooms, though! Very compatible with chicken and onions.
Yummmmmy. Looks good. And very easy to prepare. Greetings from North Mississippi.
It was super good. Hope you try it.
Looks great! Looks like you're feeling better too! Happy to see that!

Oh my gosh that looks so good dave. I love that you made the Rue from scratch instead of using those canned soup mixes which can be high in sodium
Hi Lynne. Thanks so much. The sauce was so good. Yes, I'm trying to stay away from the canned stuff. Hope you are well.
@@TheCooknShare I hope you are well too. I'm glad it's getting a little warmer in Canada 😂
I have been making a similar dish for years. Love it! Boneless, skinless thighs are a lot easier. I add in some sauted creminis as well.
Ah, but that crispy skin ... You can compromise by starting with bone-in, skin on thighs and deboning them. Thighs aren't too hard to do with a good knife and a little practice.
Sounds great! Have to try it.
