Rushing in some areas... but this is by far the best version of this song I've seen outside of Carmine Coppola's performance. I didn't even know there was sheet music for it. :) Back in the day, I replicated the song listening to it until I figured out the song. :) It's funny how this song wound up being such a focus... reminds me how in "Spies Like Us" everyone wants to know the song Austin Milbarge is listening to when he's down in the Pentagon Basement. It's Peter Akroyd (Dan's brother) who is performing a song he wrote with his band, "Rock the House Down." LOL :)
Why impossible? Every key is the same , theoretically. You're just starting on a different note on the keyboard. If you know one key, you know them all. Sounds like you just need to practice ALl keys instead of transposing everything to the "easy" key of c? I find the key of g flat to be just as easy as the key of c. Instead of white keys you're playing the black keys (except for b and f). Is the key of d (all white keys except f and c) any more difficult? Anything "new" for anyone would be difficult. Familiarize yourself with every key and they suddenly all become easy. If you don't, then they will always seem "impossible ' as you say. This song sounds fairly simple, I, IV, V chord variations, nothing too crazy.
Good work. But I don't think it should have an F# in the bass at 0:29 and 1:02, sounds more like a G diminished. I will take a run at it myself and post what chord progression I figure out. Again, good work.
+ulysses1904 ..... You could well be right. Let us know what you figure out. I wrote out the original transcription. It's on eBay...currently item NR 332011394423
Feeling like Willi Cicci casually leaning against the piano listening to this song
The beautiful melody ends too soon. Beautiful playing of a very poignant, melody.

yeah i noticed that as well.
But isn't dissonance one of those things food musicians slip into their compositions now and then? 😉
It's good but original delivery is better
Softer dynamics, like a 78 rpm playing with little scratches that add ache to the vignette.
Beautiful
