One of the things that we are losing today is the ability and knowledge to repair “anything”. This ability is declining everyday, not sure what the next generation or the one after will do when their “things” break down. We have become a throw-a-way country, sad. Great comment, hope he hangs in there and learns.
Warren, I don't know your labor rate, but it is not enough. I also recommend $1 per hour for every degree below 70. I would definitely pay it. It was 30 here yesterday and I spent all day getting hose off dozer. Froze to death twice. Us Central Texans are not equipped for cold weather. Much respect to you and Trent.
Couple tips from an old metal burner. 1. Start with your torch and hose in the most wound up uncomfortable position so you unwind and get more comfortable during the cut. 2. When its colder out, preheat as much as possible before the cut. This keeps the cut moving quicker and smoother. 3. Build your own circle cutter using threaded rod, thumbscrews suck and never cinch down tight on a smooth rod. You can tack weld a hose clamp on the end of a threaded rod for the torch tip. The center can just be a big punch drilled out for the rod to go through the shank. Oh and get the right setup for your plasma, much nicer. ;). Good job getting it done as usual.
Hey Warren, thanks for putting out so many video's lately, most interesting channel with all the different equipment you work on. Sorry you have to pay 1500$ plus the injectors that aren't cheap, with your labor going into it. The guy's that were complaining about you charging for mileage don't see this kind of cost, plus insurance, and just general maintenance. Hope it don't take to long for ya to get the parts to get it done. Thanks again, and God bless.
Warren I,m a retired logger. Heavy construction guy. Still working Great videos Great content. Gotta say you’re an amazingly talented >determined guy. One thing you said putting the hose back on “it won’t be easy “. Lol. If it was easy. Or warm. they would have done it themselves. Good luck with the service truck
1/5/22; another great job despite cold, wet, travel- both ways twice- in snow covered roads to replace hydraulic hose on big Cat loader. You are a dedicated service man Warren. Thanks for bringing us armchair YT viewers along. You give us viewers new appreciation for maintaining big equipment that helps feed the country. Important work, Thank You!👍👍👍👩🔧🙂🧑🔧🍺
Another great video Warren as always watching your hard work makes me get up in the mornings and go to work, i'm in the old timers club.Stay safe and warm until next time have a great day.
Cold.🥶🥶🥶 Pulling the wrong hose that's something I would do. Changed one on my tractor last week. I checked a couple times because I knew otherwise I would f up. Easier then what you were doing. Keep warm. 👍
We used to use screw in fittings on nylon hoses for our Fork Lift Trucks. The outer was easily put on, but the tapered inner fitting had to be well lubricated and then a -continuous- torque turning it into the hose. If you stopped turning you could never get it to move again, so it was a good work-out to turn the fitting maybe 16 revolutions to get it to seat. Didn't get to do many for customers, but we did a few at training school, where we held the hose in a very substantial vice...
Cold and windy day out there a good taste of reality for the rest of us. One place i worked bought a factory hose cleaning device which would basically blow a foam plug thru the hose to get out all the little rubber crumbs and other stuff left from cutting and hose making. We ended up making our own stuff with foam ear plugs or wadded other stuff that worked the same if we were out of the plugs.
Tell you why the kid is good. Cuz he's got his hands in there doing it. Couple years goes by and he's good to go. I really enjoy twisting bolts but the only thing I didn't like about it was all the dirt and grease. Always filthy and cold ....or hot... And 7 days a week is just to much. But its good for ya. Stay active and stay alive.
Hey Warren. I was wondering why you don’t have a shop closer to your house? Looks like cold outside work for you guys. I guess it could be worse with a few feet of snow. Thanks for sharing your wonderful videos with us.
I don’t speak for Warren but I have a few mechanic friends with their own shop. If it is at your house, people are always knocking on your door wanting you to fix their vehicle right now. “It will only take a second “ They could not get away from it.
I don`t know what vintage the dodge pickup is. But on the older ones I have rebuilt several of the vacuum shifters. And if is a newer one it could be the shift motor or control module.
Dont know what you do there , we use to have our fuel delivered premixed with kerosene to prevent the fuel from gelling in the winter , but , the cummins had the long spin on fuel filter on the drivers side just outside the frame rail it would still gel when you started moving an air hitting the filter when it was real cold ,it was like you ran out of fuel an the engine quit , any chance of that compounding your existing service truck problem , the detroits canister filters were not a problem the second filter was bolted to the engine block . Ive loaded myself many a time with a 950 very reliable loader , also 966 , 977 , 980 & 125 michigan from a cedar rapids pit master rock crusher , primary crusher 8V , secondary crusher 12V , also loaded some rock trucks with 992 .
👍👍👍👍...have had to lock shit up over here in rural Wisconsin too nowadays...we all know who the fuck we have to thank for that ...but anyway...right on fellar...see ya on the next one 👍👍👊
@@Mercmad we do but like he's said before, they don't do anything to punish the fuckin criminals anymore, and they try an turn law abiding, working citizens into criminals... probably cause they know they'll get money outta them...it's really a crock of shit....but anyway 👍
I truly believe that engineers and designers are told design vehicles, large equipment to be two types of designs. #1 design so they are user friendly to operate, so many people will buy them. #2 design same very very unfriendly to maintain and repair, so it is close to 100% that people must bring them back to dealers that sold them
Is it worth the initial investment on the hydraulic hose and fittings to keep them in stock? Or if you had it to do over again would you just get them made locally? Been pondering possibly putting in a set up.
In an earlier video he mentioned the loggers have their guy(s) and he’s never really been able to break in to that sector, unlike the ag stuff, as he worked for a strawberry farm as a mechanic.
@@studboyspark Not saying Warren has never worked on logging equipment, but not as frequently as the ag and HGV stuff. That’s where he explains the loggers have their own guys, so his work for them is very infrequent.
Hey Warren what happen to your dogs? Sorry it's been a minute since I've had a regular watch of whatcha got going on so if I missed a explanation then my apologies.
Gotta ask: Nuisance charge for this kind of weather or a**hole customers? Weather conditions and deadbeat customers make an already difficult job even harder. You SIR, are one tough character!
Glad to see you got someone who actually wants to work these days to help and learn from you.

Great fix Warren at least you had what you needed to fix the hose. On to the next repair stay safe.

The old 950 isn't looking too bad Warren, definitely a lot better than your weather mate

It looks as though Warren is modeling a Filson Mackinaw Coat. Very nice.

Looking cold out there. Yeah best to have the other pump ready sounds like. Stay safe out there my friend.
Those old Cat front loaders are so dependable.
Warren your just a fixing machine on the run. Another good repair.

It’s miserable here in the central Uk 🇬🇧
Good stuff Warren. You guys seem to work well together.

Happy New Year, Warren! Crappy weather all over these days. Nice job, as always.

Nice...Designers never take in account that a guy with hands bigger than a 5 year old might have to get a wrench into a spot to make repairs.
3x glove size here 😆 so yeah, you're spot on!
Another Job well done.. Great Video as always..
Thank you Warren 👍
Thanks for the share Warren! catch ya on the next one! Hit that like button folks!!
My boss and I fixed the pump on his Peterbilt service truck. Wasn't too bad.
Big hoses suck in general but 4 wire is real bad. I love having a hose press someday hopefully I can add a portable one.
Good job Warren....Thanks for sharing...
She looks a little cold & wet Warren , You do good work , your worth a lot more than your Pay.
Good video 👍, wrenching and repairing pises of work equipment 🤝 have a good one 🛠️
Happy new year to you guys. I just injecter in a 5.9 24 valve that was ruff run at idle and smoking really bad.

Technically, he does do work out of his home shop at times but it's small. He needs a building for the monster machines that he works on.
It looks cold where you are Warren. I'm stuck in the house with a bad leg. Iv always got your videos to watch. I'd sooner be out and about.
Guaranteed to pull the wrong hose in that weather. Great content mate 👍
Nice work Warren. As usual
looks like a gates press, we had one at the old glass plant where i used to do maintenance

Happy new year Warren tough to hear you sometimes with the wind I know it’s not your fault just saying
Power driven diesel or industrial injection is very good for 12 valve parts
Check with Pensacola diesel. I got mine there. Awesome people to deal with
Looks cold there Warren, where there’s shit there’s money 💵!👍

WARREN FOR PRESIDENT!
We would definitely be much better off with a man like him in charge.
There all career politicians today..
Never worked in a mom and pop business..
They just follow other peoples decisions..

Hey Warren are u able to keep some of those hose fittings for a future repair?
Do they Farm cattle or grow hay? that's a lot of feed in that hay barn.
Winter weather is tough on the hands , ouch
Good vid warren

Boa noite muito bom serviço máquina meu amigo ano novo 2022

I guess your fuel filter and separator are alright?
And how long will the injector pump sit on the shelf?
Hi Warren ..
Have u ever encountered a Sasquatch out in the field, whether noises or suspected that your been watched..
Is it worth the initial investment on the hydraulic hose and fittings to keep them in stock? Or if you had it to do over again would you just get them made locally? Been pondering possibly putting in a set up.
Probably have them made
All the stuff u work on have u ever worked on tree logging equipment.

There not bad those flat faced fittings when you can get at them.
👍
Used to find once you got through the first 30 minutes of using frozen tools with bare hands you would be fine for the rest of the day.
I am not giving crap I'm just asking what's the normal lowest temp . For your area.
Now go get more O rings and put them in the case!
Why does everything always break down where there's no shelter from the weather.
wind sound only
That's a job that would have been a lot easier if you could have got the arms lifted and out ot the way of the lower fitting!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👀👀👀☕️☕️☕️👋👋👋🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Clean the grime off that cylinder for christs sake. Oven cleaner works pretty good.
Things are that bad all over this country.
I guess the dogs can no longer ride...

Sounds like you need some real dogs and fences at home, which is sad… people hunting dogs, mph-ummm.
Thanks Warren!
