In cold temperatures white gas stove is way more reliable than propane. That is why it is used on all the extreme weather stoves like the MSR XGK EX STOVE, but it is a good ideas as a multi fuel use stove.
Wow, how timely. The other day when testing out my 413F from the 1950s and the tube that leads to the gas port near the burner broke off. I looked up replacement parts and it was going to run me 50 to 60 bucks, I just ordered one of these and will do a video on it when it comes in. It will work with ALL 413 model stoves, (I asked them on amazon) so it will be great to save this old stove instead of just letting it sit and never replacing it. Thanks for the tip, its amazing how RUclips comes in handy sometimes with tips like this :)
Iridium242, agree. I Frick'n love the information available on RUclips. Tell you what, when I was in grid down PR for a month I missed having the internet and all of the information on RUclips. We are not smart as we think we are w/o the internet. Keep on prepping.
Oh yeah, that's one of the main reasons I print out any and all good info that I get from the net. I have about 4 binders full of basic tips and tricks I have found online, and printed out. Thinks like how to make shoes, how to grow certain types of food, loads of first aid stuff, you name it.
Prepared 2 Thrive While I have you both here. I ordered my new lighting line yesterday and they arrive in 10 days. Corey.....I want to know if I sent you one.....would you start an indoor grow with it.....and DIY.....I was hoping you could use one in your solar room. All led.....my spectrum.....white light.....for general off grid illumination and for growing any and all plants and grasses. Draws 30 watts. Let me know please. 😁 All I would ask is a video review from both of you. 😊 30 watts in led replaces 250 watts of HID or flourescent.
I've watched a few of these videos and the everyone else seams to think that in cold temperatures white gas has the advantage over propane. @1:45 you state the opposite. Anyone have experience?
Butane in cold temperatures fails. The Coleman fuel will work in the cold side by side compared to Butane. I may have mixed up my words in this video. 👍🏻

That’s a nice looking 413! It’s amazing that they can still be found in such a condition! Multifuel versatility is great!
You're right, it IS amazing. I Frick'n love vintage Coleman
Meant to give you credit for the idea to do this Thereal111t. Thanks friend.
I have a used one in the basement. It might be time to see if it works. Thanks for the reminder
You bet DIY.
Your link no longer works, can you find another link and post it for everyone.

Thanks
Thanks for watching.

Where do you get the conversion valve can you send or past the name or link
Why would you want to do that? Petrol/shellite is far superior in cold/windy climates.
Shout out to Thereal111t channel for the idea to convert to propane if/when propane is advantageous.
Does the conversion kit work on the 414 ?

i was referring to propane being problematic for winter temperatures. if you search fuel system comparisons you'll see what i mean
Liquid gas is more reliable in cold weather. Propane barely works poorly in cold weather, liquid gas is good down to around 5°F
Guide to Safe Scouting says Scouts can not use liquid fuel. Must be propane or wood. Gotta convert !
👍🏻🤩👍🏻
The link no longer works, and Amazon doesn't seem to carry it anymore. Great video, but it isn't very useful if one can no longer buy the converter.
Thanks. If I said Amazon, I meant eBay. This is a pretty old video, but these often sell on eBay.
@@prepared2thrive101 It is not what you said. Instead, I was referring to the link that is the very first line of your video description.
John Meyer I hope you find what you’re looking for. Thanks for watching.
lost me at "more reliable than white gas".....
Does anyone have the link to the conversion. Can’t seem to find it on amazon. I have the coleman 413 similar to the one in the video. Thanks
Does the 414 have the same fuel parts?
Just verified same parts; it will work.
