- Okay, so I expected to see the new hero, but this... was completely unexpected and you can probably tell it caught me off-guard by the way I hit the limiter like it was my job! I hope you guys enjoy my reaction!
Thanks to Mama Jules for help with the stupid thumbnail pictures.

My takeaway on Alvis: Shulk wished for there to be no more gods. That the choice of the world belongs to every living being. And what did all the ppl in Origin want? An Endless now. Alvis is probably respecting all their wishes and protecting or creating the Endless now.
Ohhhh I like that thinking! Smart theory
He also became Consul A.
@@KayJulers Which makes you wonder want caused the Endless now to be the yearning on the souls in origin.
💀 unfortunate wording leads to the creation of a world in an endless cycle of war
That actually makes sense, I'm confused though whether this DLC we fight Alvis before X3 but the damage is done hence Aionios?
Or we face alvis way after X3 (because Rex looks older than the picture) since the two worlds still want to merge to prevent endless now once and for all?
As someone who never disliked Rex, seeing how much more appreciated he is nowadays fills me with happiness.
I love how Rex is as buff as Vandham.
My man Rex has had nothing but gains on the mind.
My man rex have tired face because he married three ppl at same time
@@susano.o and 3 child support
He's not our boy anymore, he is our giga chad~, carrying 3 wives and kids~
I love how we all freaked out at the reveal of story trailer and just immediately talked over the following music rhythm game.
Samba de Amigo got the most unfortunate placement.
@@KayJulers ahahaha I was like no one cares or can function anymore! XD
I was stuck still with a dumb grin on my face for like 5 minutes.
I can’t wait.
At first I didn’t even realize that that was Rex next to shulk until I went back and saw him duel welding Pyra and Mythra
It's not them, the core crystals are missing
@@jstar3382 They gave their crystal to fully revive rex because both Mythra/Pyra and Rex were sharing each other's life force
@stonerraton6781 No, I think the crystals could be missing either due to them just being his Aionios Blades, which took the form of the Swords or Becuase Pyra and Mythra are "dead" and therefore currently stored in Origin
@@jstar3382 right just meant the swords
I am so hyped for this.
Alvis might actually explain a bit more logic of where the hell Origin drew its power from. I always found it strange that both Melia and Nia created a universe-altering mechanism from the remains of their worlds? I mean, after the Conduit disappeared, what else could have possibly been the energy source behind Origin? We may now finally know the answers! Oh boy, I'm already speculating 😅
I'm really hoping this DLC explores concepts like Ouroboros, Lucky 7, and other elements in the endgame that I felt could've used more development. Bringing Alvis and the Conduit in to connect everything sounds like what I've been longing for.
@@KayJulers Yeah that would be nice! If we can get answers to the unsolved mysteries of the main game through the past, and then somehow tie it to the future of the series, that would be ascended hype.
There’s definitely lots of implied answers but nothing concrete. I guess Takahashi didn’t want the exploration of those answers to get in the way of the main game, if he could devote more time to them in a different story
@@emblemblade9245 That would make sense. Like people speculated, the DLC story seems like it'll wrap things up nicely. But of course, fingers crossed!
I mean Origin was set to activate upon the worlds' annihilation, which to me meant there was always gonna be exactly enough energy to spare in that one moment. Expending energy to keep time frozen in space was a slow death sentence.
Having the conduit around would explain a lot but it doesn't seem actually necessary to the narrative on its own. Just an opinion though.
Shulk looks sick with that cape and all, but my boi Rex looking like Zeke and Addam!
Two absolute units worthy of nothing but respect.
@@KayJulers I just wish there are more blue than black but only shit Rex looks bigger than flipping Triton.
I can even see some of Malos in the hair as well.
That's definitely Gaur Plains when it zooms on the landscape!
xenoblade hype bois
SHULK. MY SON. HE'S GROWN SO MUCH.
This might be my favorite Shulk design. It hits everything I love in a cool character design!
Oh it feels good to be a Xenoblade fan
Also, Rex! You can’t say that about your in-laws!
Hold on, I've just noticed that Rex still has his eye, and Shulk has his arm, so that means they're gonna lose them in this DLC!!!
Oh man, that's going to be brutal.
What you mean?
@canales287 you can read the statues of Shulk and Rex in base xeno 3, and they say Rex lost an eye and Shulk an arm
1:41 was the best use of the vine boom sound effect I've seen in months and I cant explain why
Glad to see your reaction!! You're easily my favourite Xenoblade Ytuber!
Thanks so much!
Yo, adult Rex is kinda...
he's a little...
*long sip of water*
Here, I'll go get some more water cause we'll need it.
Shulk also has both arms, while his statue says that he lost one, so that scene is definitively before everything went to shit.
If that statue is shulk. And even if so shulk would have lost his arm in the timeline when origin had already been taken over by Mobius. Since it looks like both protagonists are together in one world that's impossible
Either that or this takes place after the end of 3, back in the real world
@@Jeff-tt7wj I was thinking this takes place in a true combined world
Rex looks like such a absolute chad.
If this is a prequel, we might have just found our Consul A! The reason we don't see him is because the founders take him out!
It sort of makes sense for him to do this, similar to how he nudged Shulk in the right direction, he could be the will of the people. I can't imagine Alvis is less powerful than Z, so the Conduit/Zohar must not be supporting him! It's crazy how he can be this powerful with his computer powers!
I don't think it's a prequel
That's why he's the mvp!
That's why he's the goat!!
THE GOAT!!!
Here in Spain we saw the Nintendo Direct at 23:00. I couldnt sleep after seeing the Teaser.
It is like when we were little and watched a crossover between two cartoons and blowed our minds.
This is the same, BUT INCREASED A MULTIPLILLION TIMES!!!!!
Take note that Alvis specifically has the Monado 1, Rex's Aegis blades have no Zohar and Alvis seems to be coming from the FC rift with some kind of red U-DOish glow. ALSO FEI FONG WONG???
Honestly at this point I wouldn't be surprised if this was a prologue and epilogue at the same time somehow. Gosh this is getting me hyped up.
Rex looks soooooo coooool
My notifications on youtube are you reacting to Xenoblade 3 DLC and Austin John Plays reacting to TOTK!
I had a mini heart attack when I saw this trailer! REX LOOKS SO GOOD! The only way they couldve made me go into full cardiac arrest is if Pyra and Mythra were there!
They will show the other characters in the official trailer for the story expansion, this was just a sneak peek because Nintendo is smart at marketing.
@@westonmeyer3110 They are smart, but there's still a small feeling in the back of my head that Pyra and Mythra won't return! After all, we all thought they would be important to the base game, but it was all Nia!
For example, how will the party work in this game? It looks like the House Vandham Fei Noah look-alike was transforming into Ouroboros, so those might be back.
Shulk and Rex?
Vandham and someone related to Mio?
Melia and Nia?
Other founders, if this is a prequel and not the founders in a prequel?
Where would Pyra and Mythra fit into that?
We also don't know if Noah and Mio will be in the game, considering Rex wasn't in Torna!
Man, I wrote a long comment just because I want to see/play as Pyra and Mythra!
@@tomdaturtle5792
I am thinking most of the characters in the parties of Xenoblade 1 and 2 will function as uncontrollable heroes.
Shulk and Rex, Nia and Melia, Vandham and somebody else and then characters like Reyn joining your party to give you his class.
Rex just keeps winning.
I'm so excited ahh!! 😭
Love the thumbnail 😂😂, hopefully they tease for a future Xenoblade 4 in this
I was hoping for a dlc set in the future but as soon as I saw alvis I was on board with the past
Rex's eyes remind me of Blackblaze Duck's
Rex biggest glow up ever omg
The more I think about it the more I wonder why Rex of all people would be calling Alvis a "Heartless Machine" considering he knows Pyra and Mythra VERY well and knew Malos decently well as well.
Rex was just a dumb naive kid when he tried to befriend Malos.
Alvis is just a psycho computer AI that can’t be befriended.
Maybe something happened to Alvis that explains why he no longer acts human-like and Rex is just trying to make Shulk snap out of trying to bring his old friend back.
@@isreallytoastyhere3711
Rex being right about Malos doesn’t mean he is right to trust everyone and believe in the good in everyone and he likely realizes this pretty quickly after Xenoblade 2.
Rex befriending Blades who desperately want family but don’t think they will ever have it(especially Jin) is not the same as befriending people who actually have willingly decided to choose evil over good or those who were programmed merely to maintain order no matter how much hardship that causes.
Alvis is who Pneuma and Logos would have been without the Blade system changing them to have human qualities. He never does and never will care about what happens to Shulk or anyone as long as the cosmos is in order and no one is trying to change it for their own selfish desires.
@@Lulink013
Alvis has never acted human-like, he was never a Blade.
I don’t know, to my ears the “heartless machine” part sounds like a completely different voice actor, much older. I don’t think that was Rex at all.
The appearance of Shulk and Rex was already foretold by the statue in City.
The figures in the statue and the appearances of Shulk and Rex in 3 match perfectly.
According to the information under the statue, a man with a red greatsword
And a bold man holding two great swords that are difficult to hold with one hand.
Please make an analysis on the story teaser!
I'll see what I can do!
I love the thumbnail (and the video ofc)
Thanks!
We finally meet xenoblade boys back at last.Yeah.
Xenoblade 3 and Zelda Totk is killer it , HS what a year
YEEEAAAAAHHHH
The "he's just a heartless machine" line sounds like Rex knows why Alvis is acting like he does but Shulk isn't ready to accept losing the friend he made all these years ago.
I can't tell if Rex is the one who says that. It sounds slightly higher pitched. I'm thinking it might be one of the other founders or something. Through, Pyra, Mythra, and Malos- Rex would know that Alvis wouldn't be heartless. At least, that's what I'm thinking
@@williamellwanger9420
It’s Rex
Sees shulk, rex and alvis: "That was zanza!" lol
That has me hyperventilating for like 10 minutes
Ps. That thumbnail made me laugh
Bro imagine a shulk and Rex ourobours
I already did as soon as the mechanic was introduced in the 2nd Xenoblade 3 trailer.
I saw alvis and lost it 👍
One Doesn't Simply Watch a Xenoblade Chronicles Trailer without Going crazy so much happens in 15 seconds #Monolithsoft
Pyra and Mythra's swords seem seem to be missing their Core Cystals which I think could either be due to to the swords just being his Aionios Blades, which took the form of the Swords or Becuase Pyra and Mythra are "dead" and therefore currently stored in Origin which maybe would remove their crystals but I don't think that's how it would work, since they need a power source of some kind so I'm leaning towards the former.
I'm hyped as fuck, but it feels like a bit of that could really have helped the mainstory of Xenoblade 3 in the last 3rd of the game.
We're eating good boys
Gotta admit I peaked 5 minutes into that direct and nothing else compared
Nobody seems to be asking who says “he’s a heartless machine!” Because that’s definately a different voice actor than Rex or Shulks.
Nah that's definitely rex. He's older, probably in his 30-40s
@@ShowtimeLaw yes, but it sounds distinctly different than what he says seconds prior. The voice cracks a bit and to me sounds noticibly older than Rex. Could be Zeke.
@@Jeff-tt7wj rex is pretty old here I'm pretty sure, you see the age lines on his eyes. I'm 99% sure it's rex
Is it just me or do Rex and Shulk sound really different? Like, to me, they don't even sound like the same people. But I'm super hyped for this! I am hoping there is some epilogue stuff in the DLC and not just prequel but I guess we'll find out when it's released
I think Rex sounds different due to the massive age spike and Shulk sounds like there's a bit more gruff behind his voice, which might also be a result of being older? I'd assume they're both in there 30s-40s now!
Shulk just sounds like an older version of himself, idk what you're talking about
@@ShowtimeLaw maybe it's just cause his voice sounds kinda gravely? Idk 😄
I mean, they were only 16 or 18 in their respective games. And in this story dlc teaser, they look like they're in their 30s. So of course their voices would have changed.
It’s so hype oh my god

So Rex and Shulk are gnna interlink ?
Yes
Normally I am not the type to harp on DLC, but this story stuff not being a part of the main game, when the main game left the whole story of the world so unsatisfying to me... Well, I'm glad I haven't purchased the Expansion Pass yet, because I really don't want to reward this type of behavior. I'll just watch the cutscenes on RUclips to get the story I feel like I'm owed.
You aren’t owed anything. Base XC3 is already a complete narrative, and you were never promised what you’re asking for.
@@emblemblade9245 I was promised a Xenoblade game and while the story of the main characters was fleshed out an interesting, to me a Xenoblade game has an interesting world and villains. This game hinted at having those things, but that's all. Everyone defines for themselves what they think was promised. I don't see why I should be beholden to your expectations for the game, just as you can be perfectly happy with what you expected from it if you so choose.
@@Kasaaz the game is complete. This is additional content. I don't see the issue. You seem more entitled than anything
@@ShowtimeLaw So they are entitled to my purchase instead? Is the reason this part of the story is sold separately because I owe them money, and no one told me? I never had to pay extra for the explanation for the world and its villains in the first two games. I must've missed when they said this time it would be different.
@@Kasaaz this is ADDITIONAL. The world is complete in 3. You have Z, he's the villain he's the final boss. Complete. The story involving the past characters is all additional story.
