- I wanted a grooving plane to quickly make a 6mm groove 6mm in from the edge of a board for boxes and drawers. Using @VicTesolinWoodworks plans, a Veritas grooving blade, and a little bit of hardwood, this was a fun and pretty quick project.

Great work! Loved the slow motion shots and edits on this one!
I really like the contrast of wood colours and types. Will be a super handy tool for making boxes.
Love it y😢do wonderful work
might want to taper that back edge of the escapement just a little to let the chips escape more easily. Looks like a great tool for the box maker.
Agreed! I I was making it again, there are a few tweaks I'd probably make but if I'm being honest I'm really tempted to make a full adjustable grooving/plough plane but they're a fair bit of work, so I think I might work myself up to that and make a shooting plane first
Beautiful camera work and slo mo’s Paul. The planes look great too. Thought the thumbnail was about me till I had a closer look at the photo 🤣🤣
Are you saying all you Vic's look alike? 😁
Nah, I’m better looking than all the others 😂😂
Very nice, I was looking at adding a router plane to my birthday list but when She Who Must Be Obeyed saw the price that was the end of that. Perhaps I shall have to make one like this instead.
Have a look at the Paul Sellers Router build. Very nice looking, very cheap. I think it cost me less than $20 for the hardware.
No need to reinvent the grooving plane. Many drawers to make?
I love the Stavros Gakos homage vibe on this one. Did I miss the explanation for switching from your favourite liquid hide to PVA part way through?
There wasn't any particular reason for switching glue. Well, more accurately there wasn't' any particular *good* reason - I grabbed the wrong bottle and had already set the shot up 😁
Nice. What was the veneer inclusion there for. What did I miss?
Some dummy didn't measure things right and might have possibly made the skate a little too thin, and the veneer helped me correct my mistake.
I couldn't fit the cutter in!
