It's a huge regret!!! Gray is not that PG, to put pressure on other teams. Japan exposed how slow some of the guards are for the US.
Gray does not have to be more than she is and that is the PG for the team. She is not on the team to do the most scoring but to get the others involve in the scoring and she did that.

I see it as she is better off not making the team because she along with the Fever will get a month off to rest and then work on their weaknesses, fundamentals and more importantly keep working to build on their growing chemistry, work on defense, their plays, etc. so when the second half of the second starts they will be fully ready to go to get up in the rankings by winning as many games before the playoffs.
Cause those that truly think the Aces are going to repeat and win the Championship are living in La La land with the simple fact that Chelsea Gray is still not the same and may never be the same along with the very simple fact that unlike any of the other teams 4 of their 5 starting lineup is playing on the Olympic team. The y are going to be the most exhausted team compared to any of the other teams leaving it open for any of the other top teams to get above them or for a team in the lower ranking to sneak ahead because they will be well rested along with having the time to practice for a month compared to their short 2 week training camp and in-between games that they only get to practice each season. Not to mention many of the lower tier teams will be getting back their star injured players from the Wings to even the Sky which can easily change how things have been going but more importantly the exhaustion from these players are going to have a effect on the potential for them to win the championship and it’s going to come down to the team that is the least exhausted just like the NCAA championship game is determined as well. Dawn Stanley herself have always said a has built her teams around this very fact because it’s not about the players really but the team that is the least exhausted because by the time the playoffs/March madness comes around every team is exhausted as so it ends up being the team that is the least exhausted and has the deeper bench that wins every time.
After seeing how unathletic and scared Australia (3rd best odds I believe) looked against Nigeria, as they got bullied all game long, I'm certain that Team USA is guaranteed the gold medal.
