I live near the Dells and go there with my wife about twice per month during the warmer time of the year. Here are the staples to hit: --ride the Original Duck --go on the upper Dells boat tour --go into the cheeseball Haunted Mansion on the main drag, it's been there since the early 1960s --best two traditional Dells (but expensive) restaurants: Del-Bar & House of Embers, they're basically across the street from each other --If it's hot, the best jet boat tour is at the 'Wild Thing Jet boat tour' --Most of the pizza is terrible in the Dells, but Sarento's pizza is phenomenal; "Moosejaw" pizza is dreadful --best burger: Monk's, the one on the main drag --best mid-priced restaurant: The River Walk Pub --pick up the best fudge at "Original Wisconsin Dells Fudge" on the main drag
Way smaller then Pigeon Forge and even Branson. The Deer Park is awesome. Kalahari is awesome. Mount Olympus water Park is fun. Black Hawk Hotel is a great little retro Hotel. Of course the boat rides are fun. We did the ghost boat.
Del Bar is one of the best places to eat in the Dells. Mt Olympus about 8 years ago bought up all the little ma and pa hotels and just named them after their main resort. As a local this was fun to watch. I've lived here 37 out of my 44 years. Grew up here and have always wondered what it would be like to see it for the first time.
I went to the Dells two years ago, and it was fun. I went on the Upper Dells Boat Tour, and I went to this place that had delicious fried cheese curds. Forgot the name? Yeah, The Dells are one of those places like Gatlinburg, Branson, MO, Myrtle Beach, SC and Niagara Falls NY/ON.
I know you were disappointed in missing a water ski show, but if you come back to Wisconsin, check out Mad City, Madison's ski team or other towns may have a ski team as well. Another thing I recommend is checking out Wisconsins state water ski show tournament. Always runs the third weekend in July on Lake Wazeecha in WI Rapids. The tournament has several WI teams compete.
I am loving the Wisconsin trip videos!!! We had our honeymoon in the Dells 34 years ago. When we first visited Gatlinburg it reminded us of the Dells. It was nice to see some of the same places, but so much has changed. Can't wait to see more - looks like you guys are having a great time!
Will and Dawn, really enjoyed your video! Looks like y'all had a fun time there. That's cool that a train brought your food to you! Looking forward to your next vlog. Love y'all and safe travels!❤❤
I had the privilege of staying in the Flamingo Motel right next to Noah's Ark. Felt like going back in time. I was sad to see no one purchased the property. A lot of history going away.
The last time we been to the Dells was 2 Summers ago. We are about 3 hrs from the Dells. We have gone many times growing up. The Ducks are a must when we go as well as the water parks. Enjoy!!!
Wow, I had no idea what the Dells was like. It looks like a fun place and I’d love to go to Buffalo Phil’s! Might just have to put this place on our bucket list👍🏼 Great video🥰 God Bless🙏
This was great. I loved the Duck!! Glad y'all are home. We are too in beautiful Maryville!! We drove to Pigeon Forge yesterday and if was crazg!!! God bless.
David fee that owned all the theaters in Pigeon Forge now owns the Palace Theater in Wisconsin Dells. Running a Wild West show now that's similar to Hatfield and McCoys. At Christmas, they do the Christmas show that used to be at Smoky Mountain Opry.
That was awesome! Ya'll handled that haunted house better than I would! Love it when you come out with a new one. I watch several travelers on RUclips but you two are my favorite!
So nice to see you going to the Dells. I did want to let you know the Pepper Palace originated in Appleton WI, they had a stand at the Fox River Mall, then their first building was in an old TYME machine building in Oshkosh, the owners then moved to Gatlinburg where they opened up more. But yes, the first Pepper Palace building was in Oshkosh WI. :-)
14:05 Oh look smaller 4 Care Bears there. I have same one bough it from Walmart last month ago. 😁 Thank you watching it and very nice Wisconsin Dells place. ❤
as a (somewhat) local (45 minutes away). The Mt. Olympus owner ruined the town! A couple years ago he took the northwoods style out and painted everything white and blue. THANKS GOODNESS they made him paint it back to more natural colors. Wish I knew you guys were going. I could tell ya cool things to do.
It was great to see the old school charm of Wisconsin Dells. Wish Gatlinburg developers made more of an effort to keep the small town charm of the 60’s and 70’s when they do their big renovations and rebuilds here in the Smokies.
The Haunted Mansion was kind of neat. I like those with the automated stunts better than those with live actors. If you ever get up to Lafayette, Indiana, there is a place in the mall called “Malibu Jack’s” that is very much like the arcade at Buffalo Phil’s. They have games, rides, go carts, mini-golf, motion simulators and bowling. It’s about as large as the one you went to.
Mount Olympus is an Ancient Greek theme that’s why the Trojan Horse. A Greek family bought all those hotels and resorts in the Dells and fixed them all up. That’s why the are numbered. You should drive down to Sauk City to see the first Culver’s restaurant. I’ve gone there went it was the only one. Lake Delton had a massive flood several years ago that got national news coverage with video houses being washed away.
My Olympus basically owns everything out there. Lake city social is very good for food. But the best food out there is in lake Delton at rivers edge pub and grill. Excellent chicken and ribs.
After the first time I went to Gatlinburg I described Gatlinburg as the Dells on steroids to fellow Wisconsin friends. The problem in the Dells, as others have mentioned, is that the Mt. Olympus is gobbling up smaller places, and trying to turn it into a one company town. I heard, although can't confirm because I'm not from the Dells, is that some of the small family motels were bought by Mt. Olympus and sit empty, so they don't have competitors.
Yes almost every small hotel got bought up by them. So now if you stay there they shove you in a building blocks away from the actual hotel and water park
This is unfortunately true and it sucks too because all their hotels are shitty ass non themed buildings except for Rome the one connected to the park.
Welcome to my neck of the Woods! My first job ever was in The Dells. Mt Olympus is pretty sketchy. 😂 Glad you decided to do the Ducks, one of the coolest things you’ll ever do anywhere. The Mini Golfing and Paul Bunyan’s are highly recommended too.
I love Wisconsin dells I took my family to Mount Olympus theme and water park and camped at Bonanza Camp Resort that was summer of 2006 I believe family went to a haunted house there too Tommy Bartlett exporloritoy. A severe thunderstorm went through with a tornado just outside of the Dells. Before that in elementary school a school trip to the Dells I don't remember too much about that trip what I do remember going Tommy Bartlett exporloritoy . I went to Mount Olympus on the latest trip with adult family homes I use live in one we went to in 2018 was that last time I was in Wisconsin Dells. I hope someday I go again.
Will they have duck boats in Boston, Massachusetts. We help chaperone our son’s 8th grade class trip, several years ago…lol. One of the things we did was go on a duck boat tour. It was pretty cool.
Hey Will and Dawn you need to do the Boston Ducks s not to be confused with the Boston swan boats that's a good take in the Boston Public Garden by the way they're all different companies Just south of Boston is Quincy you know Hancock and Adams as well as the world's first Dunkin' Donuts make sure you go to the Southern Artery Dunkin' Donuts were America starting running on Duncan
Never been to the Dells or rode in a duck. Looked fun. 😊 thx for taking me along. God bless.

So amazing - thanks for the tour and showing so many details.
That haunted house was something, scared me a few times! Lol

Will and Dawn, really enjoyed your video! Looks like y'all had a fun time there. That's cool that a train brought your food to you! Looking forward to your next vlog. Love y'all and safe travels!❤❤
The Dells is a great time! Maybe on your next visit you can check out the Deer Park. IMO the best attraction there.
I really enjoy the the Dells area. The upper dells is so exciting and beautiful, very historical.
I've never been to the Dells. It looks neat. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoying all your road trip adventures
Amazing vlog Dawn and Will.
Wisconsin is alot of fun. I would like to go visit. Love watching you guys
I grew up there. Really fun and beautiful areas. My recommendation is don’t go there in the winter unless you want to snowmobile or ice fishing!
I grew up on Mirror Lake by the Dells.I have seen the area change alot through out the years.
I used to love camping at Mirror Lake!
Monks is a great place to eat there, either downtown or out by the Great Wolf Lodge and such. WI has so many great things to see.
Wow, I had no idea what the Dells was like. It looks like a fun place and I’d love to go to Buffalo Phil’s!
Might just have to put this place on our bucket list👍🏼
Great video🥰
God Bless🙏
You really need to see it once!
The restaurant was 10 out of 10 weird and amazing just like that house❤🎉🎉🎉
Good to see but I'll take the Smoky Mountains any day in comparison! Totally different atmosphere! Hugs from Maumee!
This was great. I loved the Duck!! Glad y'all are home. We are too in beautiful Maryville!! We drove to Pigeon Forge yesterday and if was crazg!!! God bless.
We always loved The Dells and House on the Rock in nearby Spring Green Wisconsin!
Yeaaaaa 😊 now your in some of my old haunts 😅 welcome to Wisconsin yall 😊 Mt Olympus bought up all the old school mom n pop motels.
David fee that owned all the theaters in Pigeon Forge now owns the Palace Theater in Wisconsin Dells. Running a Wild West show now that's similar to Hatfield and McCoys. At Christmas, they do the Christmas show that used to be at Smoky Mountain Opry.
I Dawn & Will . Dawn look tired or upset? Have a safe trip both of y’all

What a fun day you both had... thanks for taking us with you all
We use to enjoy the DUCK tour it was always FUN. But that was 20 years ago now to think about it... LOL...

Great vlog! Loved Buffalo Phil's! Downtown was definitely old school Gatlinburg! Looking forward to your next adventure!
The river with the ducks is best part!
the Tommy Bartlett Water show was a skiing show on the lake, we saw many moons ago. there is a circus museum in Baraboo.
The Haunted Mansion was kind of neat. I like those with the automated stunts better than those with live actors.

So was that the same Tommy Bartlett who ran the wave pool in Pigeon Forge? Why didn’t Dawn drive the Duck?
Any place to park my 18 wheeler up there
Awesome 😎Very 😎 cool!Thanks Dawn and Will!

Will they have duck boats in Boston, Massachusetts. We help chaperone our son’s 8th grade class trip, several years ago…lol. One of the things we did was go on a duck boat tour. It was pretty cool.
Beautiful state!
Thanks Will and Dawn.

The duck ride looked like it was so much fun
