Hey boys. I am a former tour manager/lighting tech who had to quit when I ended up in a position like Ren. I am now 40, bed bound, and feel like I haven’t been living for years now with a list of conditions longer than anyone wants to believe.
When Ren was sick he said if he ever had a platform he would use it to spread awareness. For me he has spread so more much - he has made me feel seen, not alone, and finally hope after being so long in the dark. I wish he hadn’t had to suffer like he did but this song means so much to so many.

The sample is originally from Vera Hall 'Troubles so Hard'. Ren bought rights to it for this song. You should watch the true story of struggles, as written and read by, Ren himself! describing what he lived thru! All 8 chapters are a must watch located in his Troubles playlist!, and yes he has tagged a song at the end of each chapter. And my opinion on reacting to the Chapters is DO IT.
Ren released the readings AND his new track to *coincide* with ME Awareness Week. Their hashtag is #MillionsMissing, #Missing for short. He changed his social media profile picture to the Missing logo.

He's trying to raise awareness, like he's expressing in the text he's added to the video.
He released it on RUclips, not on Patreon. RUclips where he's intrinsically enmeshed in the reaction community.
That lyric is about more than "I was so sick I lost myself."
People with ME and other debilitating chronic illnesses disappear from outside life. They go missing. Friends and family abandon and forget them because it can be inconvenient and uncomfortable to maintain a relationship with someone who cannot participate in *your* life. The lyric is a double.
In the first Chapter, Ren asks that the audience respects the privacy and solitude of himself and the people who are part of his story. He specifies to NOT REACH OUT to them to praise or criticize them.
Nowhere does he say anything resembling "please don't react to the videos I'm putting out on RUclips."
He's doing everything he can to raise awareness, and reactors reacting to his story helps that.
Now, I totally understand if a reactor finds it too uncomfortable for any reason to react to the Chapters. Super heavy stuff.
And I totally understand if a reactor doesn't want to bring non-music content to their channel. Totally fine.
Or if they wouldn't mind reacting to something *shorter* than this is, but this is too long. Also totally fine.
And - I understand if reactors see what some Renegades are saying about how they don't think the chapters should be reacted to, and decide they don't want to open that potential can of worms (negative reaction amongst some of the audience).
But if you're interested to react to the Chapters, do it, is my opinion.
Help bring light to the situation of those who go missing.

It's this song Ren want's shared & reacted to, to raise awareness. I reckon if he wanted his chapters to get reacted to, shared a lot & viewed by many, he'd have put them on his main channel & promoted them. But considering he put it on his 2nd channel that only has 33k followers, instead of 1.38M, and never really promoted them, it's probably a bit more personal/intimate.

The Doctor (his angel) gave Ren a free $25,000. Stem Cell transfusion after hearing Ren's health blogs. That brought him back to life again. It made him better in many areas and worse in others but he would deal with that because he wasn't going to die. The music kept his brain driven and gave him hope.
Spoiler alert, they said they were getting ready to watch Ren's stories after this.

The Stem cell Dr that treated Ren also gave him a place to live in LA while under going his treatments. And with stem cells it does not work for everybody ! How lucky are we that is is working for Ren !! His Lyme disease was removed by a very aggressive anti-bacterial regiment. Did a number on his digestive system. The stem cell is fighting all the damage the Lyme disease left in Ren's system the autoimmunity conditions he endures.. And his year in a half daily IVs antibiotics and vitamins and supplements he takes. I don't think I have ever heard a journey where someone has been so strong for so long !!
If there are hero's Ren falls into that category for sure !! Can you imagine going 5 days a week for 2 to 4 liter IV's then taking up to 100 pills everyday ?? And he is still doing this ? Ren is the definition of HOPE !!

CDC does not recognize chronic Lyme. You have to find a Lyme literate practitioner which is all out of pocket. The supplements are also not covered. UK is the same

Hey, the original sample is Vera Hall - Trouble so hard in 1937 as far as I know, Moby brought it back in 2000 with natural blues. Definitely give all the chapters a look as they all have a song at the end and his story is beautiful 👌
After having listened to Ren's Chapter Series Intently and multiple times, this track just encapsulates his story so well and serves as musical accompaniment for The Chapters. Ren's experiences are very familiar to me to say the least, as is often the case with many of his supporters. Ren's success is so deserved and I do truly hope it continues. Ren is the medicine many of us need. So raw and vibrant in color, combined with his naturally emotive performance! Indeed Ren....Your Limo has finally arrived. This in my mind one of the best lyrical raps ever written and performed. Yes Ren, you have raised the bar....

Ren IS our voice. Any publicity is great publicity. Otherwise, we are just left to suffer.
There is a national health system in the UK but the wait times & service can be bad. Ren used every dime he could get for specialists around the world to find out what was wrong & then for all the treatments needed that weren’t covered by the NHS. He did have a $25k stem cell transplant procedure & treatment donated in the US/Germany (I’m not sure if he paid for the 2nd one) & is now undergoing clinical trials & treatment in Canada for the problems generated by each “cure.” He still pays for a lot, including travel, living expenses in Canada & miscellaneous medical costs.
He is in constant pain & can only eat 5 items. He has to have an IV almost every day and is undergoing all sorts of treatments. Unfortunately people think because he looks healthy on the outside that he’s found a cure & will be fine after he’s done in Canada. This will be a lifelong thing if only because of the damage & havoc the conditions wreaked on his body & brain over the last 15 years. 💜

In the Uk health care is free NHS. Sadly NICE which is the over seeing body that authorities which medical procedures and medicines can be offered by the NHS often deem them too expensive to be offered.
Also sadly our NHS is under threat from our own government who are doing their best to push a privatisation agenda.
I’m am one of those missing people who have been left to fend for my own health solutions and fund my own healthcare journey.

Just looked up the DJ you mentioned. He was Jeffrey Vandergrift, known as JV. The medical profession globally need to start taking Lyme seriously. Yes we have health care free at the point of use in the UK but Ren couldn't find the help he needed and as you know had to look elsewhere. Frustrating AF to put it mildly.
Ren said this was the conclusion to Sick Boi album. (Even though it's not on the album). Ren has suggested his next album will be more guitar focused so who knows what that may be. The Chapters all have a song at the end (except the last one) if you really want to understand Ren it's worth a watch. It's actually worth a movie or Netflix series. He's such a good storyteller.

Yes we have free healthcare here in the UK, but Lyme disease is very rare so nobody checked for it, they told him it was all in his head, definitely check out his chapters he explains his story ❤
Not free for much longer, there'll be just the logo eventually. Govt MPs and the opposition have shares in medical insurance companies. The NHS has been steered to a USA model since Blair brought in PFI. It's possible Ren's Lyme would've still been missed, but his continuing care would've been better I think with a "people before profit" system.
More specifically, "free at the point of delivery" but everyone paying a small amount every month in National Insurance makes the service VERY affordable.
Eventually only the better off will be able to afford an insurance policy and trust that it covers their needs. And this is a long detour from this Ren Reaction 😁
Yes, true, but not everyone works because of being too ill, but you still get the health care

I’d say do the chapters but as a personal thing as opposed to a reaction. Each one has a song to finish it, so you could always stop before the song starts, as may be a Ren track you haven’t done yet.

Always look forward to Rendsday😃.The UK has a publicly funded healthcare system. The NHS (national healthcare service). They are definitely stretched. Long waits for specialists. But, everyone has access, not like here. All of the chapters have songs at the end. Some chaapters are lighter than others. Last 2 are more triumphant.

Rather than react,i would say witness. The Chapters are very personal raw, detailed emotional and hard to watch sometimes.
Please respect Ren's story and view his stories on your own time. It's his story to tell and i do not believe that reactors have anything to add.

I do swear and declare that Ren most likely has one of the most engaging Patreon accounts out there. Every upload is more like an ecard to a long time pen pal, just letting ya know what adventures and shenanigans Ren and his band of scaliwags (and the comely Brigitta) have been up to. Vera Hall's song was just a vocal there was no beat, and he didn't do anything crazy to the vocal, just put some compression and a few other effects on it

Well I'm not a member as of yet, but I can tell ya one thing, there's one member that is starting to give that group a bad name, on youtube he goes by @woodywoodman2319, he's constantly in the comment sections of Ren reactions almost spamming comments about what the reactors "need to watch next" like the 8 chapters, and/or criticizing them for not doing so, or saying the wrong thing during their reaction. I'm not the only one who's noticed him either, and other Patreon members have told me he's a problem.
NHS in UK was practically useless, Ren spent every hour he could researching and found more answers himself then the drs. One even told him he was too obsessed with his health and he should get a hobby.

Vera Hall is the original artist. But Moby did this sample in a song called "Natural Blues" and Ren bought the rights to this song because Vera Hall has always been one of Ren's favorites. He'd busk her songs. I love how he chooses his locations very carefully! Notice it says "GUARDIANS" in the background.

STOP IT!!!! WTF has happened to the Renegades!!?? Stop telling reactors, other people, how to consume content, ESPECIALLY REN CONTENT!!!! Ren released the story on SOCIAL media, that is what artists do with content they want to share with the world, after a gift is given, you don't tell people how to use it. I agree, there's nothing to add to the story, as far as agreeing or disagreeing with aspects of it like you would a song, and I respect anyone or any reactor that prefers to watch the stories on their own, that's how I did it.
But I have seen plenty of reactors draw inspiration from the story in real time. I've seen therapist reactors react to the stories in live streams, then have a group discussion with everyone streaming, sort of like a group therapy session, and the subscribers seemed to LOVE it, and get a lot from it.
Sorry if I came out the gate harsh, I'm not trying to pick on you specifically, I just keep seeing more and more Renegades getting sooooo caught up in their own journey consuming Ren content, that they feel everyone else must do it a similar way. Just take a deep breath and remember, polite suggestions, NOT demands or instructions.

"the kiss of cold steel" doesn't refer to a gun at all, but instead the randomly discarded sharp implement he picked up and used to "carve a hole in his chest" so he could feel. it's an act of self-mutilation to gain not attention nor sympathy, but a fleeting moment of control..a brief respite, not from pain itself, but a moment to not be at it's unfettered mercy.

The NHS which is the Public Health Service in the UK didn’t just fail Ren, they were probably the cause of much of his suffering through a combination of abuse and casual disregard. It’s a huge industrial complex in reality but if you go off the ‘main menu’ of standard ailments, with the NHS you can end up in trouble real fast. Unfortunately Covid didn’t prove to be their finest hour but the truth on what appears to possibly be euthanasia during that time is gradually showing up, in the Public Enquiry currently on-going in the Scottish NHS about treatments doled out during the pandemic, to the elderly basically over-use of end of life medication a combination of morphine ((and I think)) methadyl) in inappropriate circumstances.
@@supertuscans9512 I think the drug you're thinking of is midazolam. While there is no doubt the NHS fails many patients with autoimmune conditions as well as rarer infections such as lyme disease sadly it's the case world wide. Even in U.S where thousands are infected every year and they have added stress of finding the money to pay for tests and treatments which may not result in positive results. This is the point Ren is trying to get across- that there needs to be more research. The medical profession on the front line can only work with researched backed treatments. It's pressure from the public that can often push that research forward.

Just as a point of reference, in the UK we pay 10% of our salary via National Insurance which in the main funds the UK's largest employer The NHS ( National Health Service ) it is currently stretched to its absolute limits , although it has areas of failings it does work in many others. Great reaction to this wonderful video.
Would like to hear your comments more from a sound engineer perspective, as that is your background. Ren does all his own mixing. He used Vera Hall’s “Troubles So Hard” as the sample, and he shows how he used a filter on the sample to create the beat. Very talented!
Sounds like free health care but we pay what's called national insurance which comes straight out of your wages by the government.
They all have a song. Reviewing the chapters isn’t needed. In chapter 1 he asks to have his friend and family privacy respected and he talks about them, so many of us think they should be reacts to discussed maybe but not reacted youn the usual way There are a few t using them but many of us won’t watch.
However, you could react to the songs.
U.K. has free health care but REN’s illness slipped through the cracks. First dismissed as a college student not taking care of himself and stressed about classes. Not examined closely, then treated as mental illness until it was obvious it wasn’t, then diagnosed with the non-diagnosis of ME/MCS and basically given support to live with a condition considered unfixable, ie more mental health treatment.
As others have mentioned.. you should consider watching the series of 8 ‘stories’ he tells us about his life with disease (each ending with a song). You may find that since it’s such a personal story from (and about) Ren himself.. trying to ‘react’ to it may not feel right. The stories will give more detail about his difficult health journey - ending now with this amazing song. I believe he’s said that his new album will be completely different from what he’s done in the past… can’t wait to hear it, and hopefully to see Ren be able to move away from having to completely focus on regaining his health - vs just being able to live his life - fully!! Free Healthcare? They have terrible Healthcare. Free markets are always better than government control. There is a reason people travel to America for health care. We have the best on the planet and there is always help, charity, insurance and payment plans. Trust me you don't want to be in the uk or Canada dealing with ther slow and less advanced medicine. Not saying we are perfect but government is always the issue. We need more freedom and competition. Competition leads to better practices and lower prices. Plus to think that their Healthcare is free is absolutely absurd, it's not Free its taxed you pay for it either way....

Yea the healthcare in the US sucks I’ve needed a certain medication to live my entire life not only do I have to get it approved by insurance companies every year but if I don’t have health insurance is 1000 dollars a month. And if I don’t have health insurance that means I’m not making any money! This whole system is backwards!
With great power comes great responsibility, and Ren is truly a hero! He is using his growing powers and platform for so much more than simply creating brilliant music. Ren has now shared the full story of his health journey in 8 video chapters leading up to the release of this song and what a journey it has been. If anyone hasn’t already watched them, I highly recommend you do. With all the chapters he is showing immense strength in sharing his story that is so hard to tell, being vulnerable and telling it because he hopes it will help others and raise awareness. And here he is with another rendition of that story, now told through music with a fire beat and delivering a message of hope. A beautiful hero that the world needs ❤️🐰🕳️

His chapters all have songs, but they aren't new songs. It's old songs he's written relating to a time in his life that he discusses in that chapter... However, I'd recommend just watching the chapters by yourself, instead of reacting to them on here. It's just very personal stuff that should be listened to, rather than added to. Not many reactors have decided to react to them, and the ones that do don't get many views, as I think many fans feel the same way about it being too personal.

ON rens 2nd channel ren makes stuff he done 8 chapters about his life story, maybe you should review them on your own time and yes there is a song atvthe end of each chapter. He released 1 chapter, each day leading up to this song release.

the chapters feel personal. it might be best to listen on your own then if you feel the need to give commentary i wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts
