    It’s Halfway to HALLOWEEN. So The Vacationeer is bringing you all the Walt Disney World details and 13 tips for making the most of celebrating Halloween at the parks.
    1. SAVE MONEY, VISIT EARLIER - Halloween at Disney World technically starts as early as mid-August. Visiting early in the season can save you money. As family’s return to work and school, the crowds are lighter and the resort and ticket prices are cheaper.
    2. PAY ATTENTION TO PARTY DAYS - When planning your Disney World trip during this fall, pay attention to when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party. During party days, Magic Kingdom will close early to general ticket holders. HOWEVER, generally crowds are MUCH lighter and is great time to visit many attractions without the longer wait times that this popular park is known for.
    3. ARRIVE BEFORE THE PARTY - If you are attending the Halloween party, arrive EARLY. Although, the party official kicks off at 7pm, guests with a party ticket can enter the Magic Kingdom as early at 4pm. This is smart for grabbing a meal, grabbing a couple of rides, and being the first to hop in line for special meet and greets.
    4. POPULAR DATES SALE OUT FAST - If you are hoping to visit the halloween party at either the VERY BEGINNING or ON October 31st, purchase your tickets early. These dates can sell out fast.
    5. LATER SHOWS, BETTER VIEWS - Throughout the Halloween Party, stage shows and parade will preform at multiple times. Those with little kids will grab early show times in order to return to the resorts for bed time. For those with older kids or a gang of Disney adults, visit characters or your favorite attractions early in the evening then LATER, return to the hub in front of the castle to grab a prime spot for the stage show and parade.
    6. FOOD AND FASHION - Part of what makes the holidays extra fun in the parks is the special food and merch that hang around for a limited time. Be on the look out for the unique treats that you will only be able to grab during the spooky season.
    7. COSTUME WITH CAUTION - Dressing up for the halloween festivities are encouraged; however, August, September, and October are still incredibly warm months in Florida. When selecting costumes for your family, remember that staying cool and comfortable should be your priority. No one wants to over heat and pass out in the name of Halloween fashion.
    8. PRIORITIZE YOUR PARTY - Although party crowds are generally lighter that regular day crowds, you won’t be able to do EVERYTHING in the park. Ahead of attending, talk with your family and figure out the things that are most important to you. Do you want to visit with exclusive characters only out at the party? Do you want to visit every trick-or-treat spot? Do you want to catch the stage show and parade in front of the castle? Or do you really just want to ride all the attractions?
    9. HALLOWEEN OVERLAYS - If you are planning to ride some classic Magic Kingdom attractions, make it the ones with the Halloween overlays like Mad Hatter Tea Party, Space Mountain, and of course Haunted Mansion.
    10. VIRTUAL QUEUE MUST DO - Similar to After Hours events, TRON will have a separate virtual queue that you can reserve specifically for the party. You can typically grab this reservation in the late afternoon/early evening. Be sure to check your My Disney Experience app for specific instructions on the day of your party.
    11. ALLERGY FRIENDLY TRICK OR TREATING - Disney does a great job at accommodating food allergies when it comes to trick-or-treat candy. While most guests will be filling their bags with traditional candy, Cast Members will be handing out special tokens at each trick-or-treat spot. At the end of the evening, be sure to bring your tokens to guests services located at Town Hall to collect your allergy friendly candy.
    12. GRAB A PARTY MAP - This may be a hot take! While the Walt Disney World app will have all the special details for the party in the digital map, having the handy dandy paper map at your side makes navigating the party specifics 10 times easier. It’s much easier to find trick-or-treat locations, special characters, and exclusive party food while walking around the park.
    13. YOU DON’T HAVE TO PARTY - Although, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party continues to get rave reviews and record attendance each year, you don’t have to attend this separately ticketed event to enjoy the Halloween vibes in the parks. Decor goes up in early August and themed treats arrive soon after. Even your resorts will get in to the spooky season with limited edition snacks and movies on the lawn during evening hours. Don’t feel like you are TOTALLY missing out if you aren’t up for spending the extra money on this trip.

      I’m 5’1” so I feel your pain. Make the show your priority and try to grab a spot close to the stage. Immediately following you should be able to turn around and grab a spot for the parade. Later shows have lighter crowds, but with a 4 year old that is harder.

    • @TheVacationeer
      @TheVacationeer  Месяц назад

      Going to the theme park in the morning then staying till midnight would be A LOT to tackle. Taking the morning off to enjoy your resort is my suggestion. However, if you did decide to do both, I suggest starting with early entry, then take a break in the middle of the day before returning for the party.

    Were going for the party, ive heard to get there to get in early at 4pm but what time should we get to the line? will there be a huge line waiting to get in at 4pm should we get there at 3:30? sooner or later? Thanks!

    • @TheVacationeer
      @TheVacationeer  2 месяца назад +2

      There will be a line similar to rope drop, but it goes SUPER FAST. There are no official party things happening until 7pm, so you won’t miss anything with MNSSHP. That 4pm entry is really just a chance to grab a bite, a ride, or hop in line ridiculously early for Jack and Sally.

    What vegetarian food options do you think will be there? If youve been before. We've never been

    • @TheVacationeer
      @TheVacationeer  2 месяца назад +1

      The best way to determine options is to review the menus on the app. It’s the most comprehensive list. Luckily mobile ordering even has it broken down by food allergies or preferences. You won’t be able to know about the specialty snacks at the party until they release the menu a couple of weeks before opening of the party.

    Do you think sept 6 will be very crowded? Is it worth it if im taking a 1 year old and a 9 year old and dont expect to be there until 12?

    • @TheVacationeer
      @TheVacationeer  2 месяца назад +1

      Older children receive the most benefit from the party. However, many of the events have at least one show by 10 PM to make it more palatable for young families. My suggestion would be entering at 4 PM with your party ticket to still make the most of your day and not stay too far past bedtime.

    Are they not doing Pirates overlay anymore :( I used to love the actors that were in the line, and the actors on the ride who talk to you as you go by! It was so cool to see that ride interact with you, heckle you as you go by, scare you and warn you of the ghost stories in line. I always enjoyed that but last year they weren’t there :( I had hoped 2024 would have them

    I am attending wdw in September, in your opinion is it worth it to attend? Disney adults no kids. And we only have from 7-12. Do you think it’s worth it if you’ve never been ?

    • @TheVacationeer
      @TheVacationeer  2 месяца назад +1

      If you are a Halloween lover, YES. Be sure to focus on the halloween entertainment and treats specifically. Parades and stage shows take place back to back, so you can hit the major elements in a small amount of time. If your goal is to also fit in a lot of attractions, this particular party may not be worth it.

    • @photogal39
      @photogal39 2 месяца назад +2

      @TrulyIris Yes it is worth. I went for the first time last year as a solo adult. I loved it and plan on going twice this year (hopefully). But I agree with @TheVactioneer. Focus on the party exclusive entertainment and the treats. The parade is amazing and worth seeing. Also have a plan in place it helps in the long run.

    • @TheVacationeer
      @TheVacationeer  Месяц назад +1

      Many of the character meet and greets start a little early, but not all run the full length of the party. If meeting Jack and Sally is a priority for you, I suggest entering the park at 4pm and hoping in line then. Or swing by to visit characters during the first parade and stage shows while the crowds are focused there. Fingers crossed, the lines should be lighter then.
