My second month I delivered to a government office. I didn’t read delivery instructions because I didn’t know they existed 😳😱 I guess I’d been winging it for a few months. Anyway a county commissioner let me in the building and escorted me up the elevators to the customers office. She was so surprised because instructions were She would meet me outside of building 🤣 Lesson learned. I didn’t get a violation but I could have. Anyway it was raining that day and saved the customer from getting wet. I’ve never delivered to that area again. I’ve learned a lot by trial and error. Keep up the great work. Doing great Chuck ‼️‼️‼️
On DD I read instructions for delivery as well as review items orderrd as early as possible after acceptance. I typically also try to put customer delivery address in waze on route to restaurant if I'm not familiar so I can position to leave restaurant most efficiently. Some restaurants if you go right, when you should go left can cost you several minutes and gps typically doesn't tell you to do a u turn, it will have you drive way out of the way to turn around.
I’ve had times when I didn’t look at the instructions the customer put in the delivery. But the customers were very understanding. I got lucky, it’s a learning process and we make mistakes when delivering there food. At the end most appreciate us drivers doing a service for them. I gotta say being a gig app driver since 2016 it became much easier throughout the years! Also thank you for your videos I enjoy watching and learning from you! Easy money !! 😉

After a few missteps, I learned to look at all of the customer's instructions very carefully. Sometimes the instructions include where to leave the food (i.e., in the carport or garage).
I always look at the dropoff instructions as soon as I confirm. But it's amazing how many times people will reward you just for being honest and being kind. Especially down here people appreciate courtesy.
I've been burned a couple times without reading the instructions, when I pick up the order I take 30 seconds in the car and read anything the customers says. Sometimes they want sauce added or whatever which I've left out before
Love the video, my wife and I both dash and have been for over a year full time... one thing we've learned is that acceptance rate doesn't matter where basically every other stat does matter.
I've been wanting to try and record some of my dashing. When I do figure it out, I'll send it your way. Oh my, I'm sure it'd be comical as scattered as I can be at times!
Not sure if anyone has said this as I've not read all the comments. However, you can look at customer delivery instructions after you hit directions. From memory it's a little bar at bottom left that you click on and will display customer delivery instructions over GPS. Hope that helps ot took me a little while before I figured that out. Just hit again to make instructions disappear and it goes back to GPS view.
Your comments about looking at the customer's instructions -- after you hit directions and get moving, you can scroll from the bottom of the navigation screen and you will see the customer's instructions. I usually look at it once I get moving, and get stopped at a stoplight, or am stopped in traffic.
My ar is at 9%. I do 80 orders a week averaging around $11 per order on Uber I have no idea on how people who have these 50% plus acceptance rates can possibly make money. How many orders do they have to take to average $900 a week
My AR was at 97% when I started dashing this evening. And after turning down two deliveries it’s now down to 95%, which I absolutely hate lol 😂. But I wasn’t about to do two orders that were only $2 each and for around 5 miles each. That was definitely a big fat NO 😊
My DD AR is sitting at 3%. Yes, 3. I got that offer to reset my AR; I was at around 60%, so I said sure. Well, when I reset, I declined the first offer. Wrong move. It reset me to 0%. And it has been a struggle to regain any traction since then. So for anybody who resets, make sure you accept the first offer they send. And offers since then have just been garbage. Nobody is tipping at all. It would make a great video to see me struggle to regain some AR.
Funny you mentioned how you accepted 9 orders in a row at 71% AR and stayed at 71%. 2 days ago when I was dashing I accepted something like 15 out of 16 and stayed at 68% the entire time until the one I declined which dropped me back to 67% but then I raised it back to 68% after accepting another couple in a row. I just don't understand how that works sometimes but good to know it's happening to other Dashers as well. Thanks for the video and keep up the grind!!
It's a weird system, but let me try best to explain. Think of orders coming in like a ladder. First order is the bottom of that ladder, 100th order is the top. Once you get that 101st order, that first order on the bottom goes away from your ratings. So, you're saying you took 15 out of 16 and stayed at 68 the whole time, that means your bottom 15 orders were all declines., so accepting 15 in a row keeps the AR the same. It's a weird system when you can't physically see it, but it works. Not that it matters, AR doesn't mean anything.
I do same thing... I'm 99.99999 always early for pick up and have to wait...so I have time to look at instructions. I too just hit confirm and go! I have found in the instructions to add extra sauces and don't catch the until I arrive at the address! I love your vids and think you are great!

I do make a habit of checking directions! Here is a true story: I picked up a group Chipotle order (for about 3 people) Tip was HUGE like 16 bucks and I was taking this thing all of 3 miles or less. They put in the directions to grab extra utensils and napkins. Well I did cause I saw it. I got to the place of business and I met the nice lady in the lobby. I said her things were in the bags (The extra napkins and utensils) she asked me why no one else gets them? I explained to her that well I couldn't speak for them but I saw it and I did it. She thanked me again and asked if my tip was included. Which I answered honestly and said yes. Probably made her day and stood out among the rest!

It's a good habit to look at the instructions before as you know where to go once you get there. Also I got caught twice with the GPS sending to the totally wrong address so now I double check the address as well.

It took me about a year and a couple of contract violations because of not reading those dang instructions. I mean who knew someone took a single wide trailer and made two apartments out of it. It took two violations for me to read those. But it’s the first thing I do now.
The lady that added the tip probably appreciated that you actually apologized for the mistake, quite uncommon these days. And yes, I do check instructions first. Typically while en route. I gotta share my ridiculous Dollar General offer today… McD/DG stack, 50 items for $10.25/7.6 miles. It could’ve been 50 of the same item but no way to know prior to accepting so NWIH I was risking it. 🙄 Steffens, Steffens, Steffens. 😆

Would you ever consider trying a couple weeks below 70% AR? Seems like you get a lot of low paying orders so it actually might not matter much either way. You should have no issue scheduling your shifts if you do it early. You could always go back to 70% later on if it don't work out. I think the new bar is going to be 50% once Doordash does the next round of updates.
THIS IS A GREAT GUY!! I was drunk when I accused this fella of mole lestering ma fav-O-right goat Matilda and I sincerely apologize to you sir. 😭 #diginomad
Hey Chuck, I hear you’re with the acceptance rate thing. It’s been pretty slow here this past weekend and a lot of crappy orders I had to decline. My acceptance rate keeps sticking around 75% which is kind of freaking me out having that low so I understand how you felt when you’re dipped down below 70. Hey, I wanted to tell you too. I’m gonna have a video going live on Wednesday and I shouted you out in it so you have to watch it when it goes live probably be Wednesday by noon.
If people stopped worrying about their AR and only accepted orders with acceptable pay, my believe is that the pay would go up for all. Why pay more to drivers if you can pay less?
Super slow Monday evening...how do I know? Accepted Outback order and not only was it ready, but they started walking out to my car to see if I had the 1 and only order. They said they were unbelievably slow tonight.
Don’t feel bad because as a customer the GPS always takes the Dasher to the wrong place and I always write the note to direct them correctly. But honestly, they follow the GPS but I cordially realize it’s not the Dasher’s fault it is the GPS so don’t feel terribly bad, because believe me maybe one percent out of 1000 deliveries will read my note of direction
Be careful sometimes when I hit directions in the dasher app and it goes to Google maps with the wrong address number so I always check and delver to the address in the dasher app
I do look at instructions, but some don’t make sense but they are maybe from previous orders. I really look at what they order, because I don’t want forget anything especially drinks. One time I was getting Krispy Kreme donuts and doordash put to ask the merchant to confirm the dessert. He said they are donuts. DD needs to not do that.
Those old instructions drive me crazy! I saw this when I got to my delivery address with Dunkin Donuts donut holes… “Leave at door. Please bring extra blue cheese.” Huh? I left her property so fast just in case she really did want blue cheese with her donut holes.
@@KathleenBona-bd9jm Oh right! I would too. I know what you mean. A customer had on instructions to it not forget her tea when she didn’t have it on the order.
You know it’s funny I’ve been filming the videos on my phone ever since I started my channel a couple weeks ago and I’ve gotten so used to it that even though I bought the GoPro, I prefer to film with my phone all the because all the clips are already on my phone, and I don’t have to take the extra steps to download the clips and my computer. Isn’t that crazy?
Do you notice a difference with your acceptance rate above 70%. It made no difference on my end wether it was 74% or what it is now at 46%. So I just decline most offers now. Maybe it just depends on how busy your area is but I am confused about what the big deal with AR is?
I really think it depends on how busy your area is. I dash in a small town and I cherry pick Uber but if I cherry picked DD too I would rarely deliver an order.
I have my delivery instructions set to automatically read. I haven't done dd for a couple of weeks (haven't been able to find an availability for scheduling and haven't been able to dash now) and don't remember the other order instructions. lol I forget..... Is there more than one place for instructions?
Otta my way people!!!!😅 I'm always sayin that 😅 It seems like when we start dashing it seems like every object gets in our path..... People cars pets.....
Mmmmm??? You got 71% and you got those terrible orders the same as me that I got 6% the acceptance rate don't matter is everything about luck and location!!!! Good luck btw 🙂
@@DashingAcrossAmerica Chicago burbs. But I usually do Uber eats because better tips, better orders. In DoorDash people don’t tip well , mediocre in a good day :)
I think it depends on your market. In some markets I feel like A.R. does matter others maybe not but I’ve noticed since I kept my AR above 70% I get better orders in my market.
I had no idea until you asked this question. So I opened the Uber app and found out that I have about 150. I've got about 1200 lifetime DoorDash deliveries. The towns where I dash are about 10 to 1 DoorDash orders.
It would be nice if people would stop picking up the shit pay orders as you can see here they will pick them up. try to stay away from door dash as much as possible use it as last resort. you can see why here. if your desperate for Ar rating come here you can have every order under 4.00 you want.

If people stopped worrying about their AR and only accepted orders with acceptable pay, my believe is that the pay would go up for all. Why pay more to drivers if you can pay less?
These people can't be serious taking 2 3 4 dollar orders. I don't even take 5s and rarely 6s
@@GeorgeBurburan yes they do. And same. Nothing under 5 and that depends on the miles.
IDK Sunny I think there will always be new dashers who will accept the garbage orders.
I have videos of me making $30-$40/hr taking $3-$5 orders. Granted it was a unique zone... Look for my older videos with Callahan in the title.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica 👍
Super slow Monday evening...how do I know? Accepted Outback order and not only was it ready, but they started walking out to my car to see if I had the 1 and only order. They said they were unbelievably slow tonight.
Yeah it's nice when your orders are ready but it's also a bad sign.
Follow the map on the door dash map on that 5 percent
Sounds like the red dead characters 😂
Had to google that 🤔
I’ll accept every one, tip or no tip, my mother in law lives with us, so no tip is better than being home.
😆
Hahaha
I look if it's leave at door or hand to me and the notes while I'm waiting on the food in the restaurant
I'm trying to make that a habit.
wazzup chuck, i been down about 4 days, a forced break from dashing, fuel pump should be here wednesday, cant wait
Hope you get up and running soon.
69% is a trash removal.......please take that no tip orders from us. Once people get their orders without any tips, they will NEVER tip again.
Every DoorDash order will eventually be delivered by some dasher.
@@DashingAcrossAmericait will but make doordash suffer by not taking it until it’s 6-8 base
I think your friendliness & apology made a big difference! Give yourself grace and pray our customers do as well! 😉
@@DashingAcrossAmericafalse. I just got a bag of free tacos this weekend from a local joint because of an order that never got picked up 😂
@@nintendbro3275 Wish I could get a free bag o' tacos!
Be careful sometimes when I hit directions in the dasher app and it goes to Google maps with the wrong address number so I always check and delver to the address in the dasher app
It would be nice if GPS always took me to the right address.
chuck my offer is 1.00 for cracker barrel i live 500 miles away.
I should be there by about 4:00 a.m. but don't worry I have your food in a hot bag.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica😝😂👍🏻
@@DashingAcrossAmerica😂 better stop at dollar general too. i need all the embarrassing stuff.
I’ve been through that twice myself. Lol
You need to get a lil foldable hand truck for water 😂. Another fun shift.
I've got a folding wagon and I never remember to bring it with me.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica you gotta keep it in the car 🚗
It’s happened to me couple times they won’t compensate you as well
$3 for a $16 order 😆
I do look at instructions, but some don’t make sense but they are maybe from previous orders. I really look at what they order, because I don’t want forget anything especially drinks. One time I was getting Krispy Kreme donuts and doordash put to ask the merchant to confirm the dessert. He said they are donuts. DD needs to not do that.
Yeah one guy asked me to deliver to the pool. He wasn't at the pool. So I went to his door and he said oh that's from a couple of weeks ago.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica oh yeah I remember that one. I’m sure that was frustrating going to the pool him not being there.
People are cheap 😂 keep doing you Chuck!
Thanks buddy!
I'm 3%AR on UE and have 96 points this month on Uber Eats Pro doing this super low part time. 1st month I'm ever going to be over 100 points on UE.
I love Uber Eats but I will never reach gold or diamond level. People around here. Just don't use Uber Eats that much.
Somethings going on Mondays, 2nd straight Monday I've been out 2 hours from 630-830 and only received 1 diamond order offer each day.
🤷
You know it’s funny I’ve been filming the videos on my phone ever since I started my channel a couple weeks ago and I’ve gotten so used to it that even though I bought the GoPro, I prefer to film with my phone all the because all the clips are already on my phone, and I don’t have to take the extra steps to download the clips and my computer. Isn’t that crazy?
I'm the same way. I'm really enjoying recording with my phone instead of the GoPro.
I usually check that while I'm on my way.
It's a good habit
You tripping 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 I use to take them orders not nomore 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
😆
I wish Uber was more popular in my area. I turn it on and I get nothing
One app at a time for me because of Murphy's law
😆
Chuck have you done wal mart Spark?
Been on the waiting list for 6 months.
The first order $3.50 for 1 mile is good. I will take $3.50 deliveries going 1 mile all day😃
Agree 💯
How many 3.50 orders for 1 mile can u do in an hour?
I have my delivery instructions set to automatically read. I haven't done dd for a couple of weeks (haven't been able to find an availability for scheduling and haven't been able to dash now) and don't remember the other order instructions. lol I forget..... Is there more than one place for instructions?
I really hate all that scheduling nonsense.
I have a guy feeling that the base pay is determined by the contract with the restaurant.
i'll think of you when i get my first dollar general order lol
😆
I been trying to work on my acceptance rate...ive challenge myself to try and accept evry offer.....thanks for the motivation
Why. What's the point
I think somewhere in the low to mid 70s is the sweet spot.
I always look at delivery instructions
It's a good habit.
Sometimes I think you're right.
Chuck wtf ? Cant be accepting all orders 🤣😂🤣😂
🤪
Dude my acceptance rate is only 49% and daily I get a lot of food deliveries from door dash.
Yeah my Uber eats acceptance rate is 36% and I get great orders.
Losing money lol. It's a dollar a mile plus 10 bucks hour for waiting...
🤔
Great video
I never take anything below $10
I almost never accept anything under $1.50/mi
@@DashingAcrossAmerica yup. But there are so many those $7.25 for 3-4 miles I never take them , ever. Even $8 for 4 miles i start from $10
@@StoneAgePHD You must be in a large city.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica Chicago burbs. But I usually do Uber eats because better tips, better orders. In DoorDash people don’t tip well , mediocre in a good day :)
m ar is .49 % I make like 22 an hour AR doesnt matter
I think it depends on your market. In some markets I feel like A.R. does matter others maybe not but I’ve noticed since I kept my AR above 70% I get better orders in my market.
In my area if you don’t have at least 50 AR don’t expect any orders. Also higher AR higher priority. DD recommends 70%
That's the big debate. I swear in these small towns where I dash life is miserable without top dasher. I've tried it.
How many lifetime deliveries do you have on Ubereats?
I had no idea until you asked this question. So I opened the Uber app and found out that I have about 150. I've got about 1200 lifetime DoorDash deliveries. The towns where I dash are about 10 to 1 DoorDash orders.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica oh I see, I was just wondering, I have close to 2K deliveries on Ubereats and 2200 on DD.
By the way I enjoy watching your videos and you always have my support 😺
I want to start but i have no idea how to edit i would like to learn
I think I'm gonna make a video about how to edit video soon. Maybe today.
@@DashingAcrossAmerica that would be awesome
you take all the orders huh lol
Nah just this one day. Still wound up with $17-$18/hr. The worst offers were about $1/mi. I'm usually a little more selective and average over $20/hr.
You not going to get in trouble just don't do it alot
😎
It would be nice if people would stop picking up the shit pay orders as you can see here they will pick them up. try to stay away from door dash as much as possible use it as last resort. you can see why here. if your desperate for Ar rating come here you can have every order under 4.00 you want.
This channel is not instructional. For entertainment purposes only. Just out having fun and supplementing my retirement income with a little DoorDash, Uber and RUclips money. 😎
My AR is 17% 😢
Just like my uber eats acceptance rate
