Hi Tony i have 2 of the 8 pod quad grows and 2 chilly grows. You can get a Auto Fill Float Valve Kit for these which i have so can connect all the grow systems to a 200litre barrel using hose pipes which makes watering monthly or longer.

Hi Tony, I watched your video of a couple of day ago and decided to follow suit in my much smaller poly. Have ordered the weed cover and the 8 pod Quadgrow so I will be coming along on this ride with you.

I’ve used the Hozelock growbag watering kit for the last two years with fantastic results.

Tony, I think it's terrific that you are both able and willing to try newer methods or products in your gardening journey. My own garden is strictly in-ground, but that's been due largely to budgetary constraints and the fact that I "inherited" from two owners before me soil carefully and lovingly built and tended by a pair of passionate gardeners who evidently really knew what they were doing and I reckon that if I built and filled raised beds I wouldn't create such fine, rich and well-balanced soil as they left me.
I've often wondered, though, if there would be enough advantage to growing in a SIP (sub-irrigated planter) to warrant purchasing the materials including the growing medium, and giving garden space to said planter. But that's my question about my garden and I'm getting off track.
I'll be very interested in following along as you grow your chilies and tomatoes in your poly-tunnel! Please keep us all current with the gardening developments. 🙂
Much gardening love from Ohio, U.S.A. 💚💚💚

I've ordered 2 of the chilli grows and 8 of the quad grows. Last year me and my mum grew about 10 tomato plants. So next year we're growing tomatoes, chillies, peppers, onions, carrotts, radish and strawberries. We already have a few pots but this will make life easier as we wont need to water everything as much. Already got some elephant garlic gowing in pots in the back, first time growing these so looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

For people like me who have small gardens and on an allotment wait list, the chilli grow will be great for not taking up space on my greenhouse table. I have 2 x quadgrows on the ground and will use those for plants like jaleprnos and piri piri that grow tall.

The feed is great. I use quad grows for toms, cues and chillis with great success. I don’t join mine together due to space and layout.

Hi Tony Have you not invested in the ‘Mulch Caps’ for your quadgrows? I find they help with evaporation and have holes to line up with the holes in the base for bamboo canes. Just a thought. Gav

Great information Tony. Are tomato grow bags good?
How can I keep my tomatoes more compact using the grow bag method?
Every year they seem to grow all over the place.

I found that the quad grows supply to much water to the chillies the chillie grows are perfect for chillies even if the tank runs empty chillies don't mind drying out a little

Sorry if i sound negative, but, the chilli grows are far too small as the plants will need potting on. The whole quad grow thing is a expensive gimmick. I have grown my chilli plants in 10-15 litre pots standing in a shallow tray of water for years. The plants grow very well, and produce big harvests. All this putting filters between pots is total nonsence. In fishing they say that most tackle catches more anglers than fish, sadly the same is true in gardening with these type of products. Just my opinion. I would never leave my precious plants at the mercy of a plastic pot with a lid if going away. Allotment neighbours, family etc much safer option.

The disadvantage of both systems is the amount the ‘lift’ up your plants from greenhouse ground level when growing tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. Maybe not too big an issue in polytunnels.

I'm sorry but thats totally wrong Tony .You will NEVER get anything like two weeks out of a quadgrow .The most is five days I'm afraid .I don't want people buying these things under that false assumption an I have been growing in them for years .The biggest negative is the loss of taste with hydroponics .I find this is less of a problem when using my autopot set . I understand youve commited to these and I do wish you luck . I thread the capillary mats and ties strings round them before placing the plants in place and then tie in overhead . It works quite well .

A negative for both systems could be neither are organic if you have to use a chemical feed

You do realise you don’t have to feed? That’s a personal choice

Have you worked out how much compost you will need to buy to fill all those pots? We don’t want you moaning about the cost of compost when it comes to filling them all 😂.
