- Orange Kellin's New Orleans Deluxe Orchestra plays 'Bouncing Around', with Shaye Cohn on cornet. The tune was composed in the 1920s by Peter Bocage and Armand Piron. I am indebted to my good friend Dave Wiseman, who died at Christmas 2021. He kindly made me a present of this video after a holiday in New Orleans at the 2014 French Quarter Festival. Charlie Halloran on trombone and (I think) Steve Pistorius on piano.

Thank you Pop´s. It is always a pleasure to see and hear Shaye playing music so talented in different formations.
Most enjoyable, thanks for sharing
So cool seeimg a video newer than 10 years old. Been making me feel weird (although the quality makes me think......)
Violin break good, good thing he was amplified. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for sharing that, Pops. That was a lot of fun.
Gracias Pop's: a la izquierda,el " gran" Charlie!! Saye, inalcanzable!!! Cuídate, desde Argentina ( down here) on the globe greeting
How many of them were actually reading the music while playing? It looked to me as though Shaye had her eyes closed through most of that.
I was there one year when Tuba Skinny were busking in the street. Orange Kellin arrived and, between tunes, gave Shaye the music for a gig she was going to do with his band during the French Quarter Festival. So she had time to learn it by heart if she wished to - something she can manage very easily, I suspect. Actually, 'Bouncing Around' is a tune that most bands (including Tuba Skinny) play, so I think Shaye would already have known this one - and the order of events in it, which are relatively simple.
@@PopsCoffee We all know this tune inside out. It would be harder to read than to memorize. The only thing that jars is that bizarre West Coast cornet solo that simply does not belong in the middle of this early twenties New Orleans Dance Band Tune
