Looks great and the milliput was a great idea - really gives a good contrats. I don't know a great deal about Intarsia. Could you make another fish with the colours reversed to use up the spare bits of wood?

That turned out really nice and what a great idea with that 'virtual' aquarium!😁👍

Thanks...theres still a lot of work to do yet. Think i need to start adding a few things to make it look more aquarium like...just not sure what yet :-)

It’s not too bad...Ideally I’d have preferred a more orangey wood but it’s close enough I think 👍😊

Yes likewise Dave. 👍. And with the Intarsia...if you have a scroll saw already then you’re good to go. I find it’s a good way to use up all those offcuts and scrap pieces too.

    Lovely job. Very neat!
But I'm baffled. I used Milliput (black) for the first time recently - but when I sanded it, it turned grey. Yours stayed black! Where did I go wrong?

What grit did you sand it too? As you go up in grits it becomes smoother and shinier. But also adding a wax or oil finish helps to give it colour too. One thing to make sure though is that it’s mixed really well…that can affect the overall colour 👍

@@Smugwood Thank you for your response!
I was fastidious about the mixing. I initially sanded the piece to P240 but the sanded black Milliput was grey. So I tried going to through the grits to P400, but that didn't make any difference to the colour. I'll just have to hope that the finish revives the black colour...

@@MrHighflyingclive Dit it turn out OK?

@@billstanley5317 Sadly not. The Milliput stayed grey, even though I was careful to mix it very carefully.. Very disappointing. I probably won't use it again.
