I played a game recently where the burrowing owl got 6 caches. It's a great situational bird with the star nest, relatively cheap cost, and 4 egg spaces.

Probably would have played the hummingbird for a net point play of 10 points with the end-of-round goal instead of 9 for the swan. The opponent would have got 2 less points expanding your win too. Good game though!!

Both plays were net 8 points, considering I had to spend an extra egg to get food for the swan. Since they're both the same, I just picked the one I liked more!
