When the ML brought her back, the whole process, I could see the longing for him in her eyes, but yet fearful and don't dare to say anything bc she was in the wrong for not believing him, and the feeling of it unbelievable that he chose her over the second female lead (the other mistress). When she talks to him, the regret and pain is all perfectly expressed, the scene in the rain too. She is those kind of actress with REAL acting skills and good chemistry w the male leads, not those superficial acting ppl which don't show the depth and true emotions/thoughts of the character.

You are right, she is an AMAZING actress. She is really capable of conveying the feelings of her character with a look, a gesture, just a movement of her body. She perfectly conveyed how in Shiyi, until the moment of confessing her feelings, two personalities coexist at the same time: a shy, inexperienced teenager and a wise, adult woman. This is a stunning contrast. In this scene, she is no less gorgeous than he is. When he stays and wipes away her tears, you can see her insecurities and trying to figure out if he forgave/loves her. During the first kiss, there is still her insecurities and guilt. She remembers that he once refused her touch, and does not dare to touch/hug him, but the whole dynamics of the body shows that she wants to show that she loves him/wants to be with him. It was the amazing acting skills of both of them that made this series, and this scene in particular, so great.

This scene reminds me of their wedding night when she told him that "only a person with something to hide can't look you in the eye" When she was confessing her feelings for him....she looked him dead in the eyes...she was showing him in that very moment that she had nothing to hide that her feelings for him were true...and she didn't want to lose him. The gentle moment was in every touch...every look and in every word she uttered. These two displayed the longing they had for each other in such a masterful way. It's what made this scene such an amazing moment....and worth the wait.

She literally puts her whole self into every look, gesture, word to show her love for him and her remorse/regret for her distrust of him. You can see her desperate hope that she was not too late with her declaration of love. But we can say that the reasons why she looks into his eyes now and on the wedding night are different. Then it's more of a way to overcome your fear, to challenge yourself/him in an attempt to hide how terrified she really is. She failed to hide her fear, but to show that she is a PERSON - yes. One of my favorite scene when lingyi went to concubine wen.. But his mind was with shiyi.. Concerning about her because it will rain and he knows that shiyi will go walk at the garden. Then shiyi give her love to him.. No more doubts. But full of sincerity... Perfect couple.
After watching this lovely and romantic scene, I finally noticed he teared up too. Or an I just seeing things. She finally grew up and was able to speak her love.
You are not the only one who noticed this tear that rolled down. Seeing this, you understand how great a shock it was for him to realize the truth and how valuable it is for him. You realize this especially if you remember his words to his son that a man should not cry. Shiyi really matured completely, now her mind and life wisdom have been supplemented with a maturity of feelings. Lingyi finally got EVERYTHING he ever wanted and what, just a minute ago, he no longer hoped for.
It was amazing. I knew she was going to have to step up to the plate and admit her feelings for him...because her mistrust really hurt him. This was a long time in the making. His patience finally paid off. I just love them.

Wallace has no trouble with romantic scenes especially in the costume drama series the General and I, 2017. My favorite costume drama. When you watch Seven Tan in Under the Power, 2020 costume drama it's very different then this type of one. I liked her more in that series. She plays great comedy.
I have watched this scene so many times but I still feel very shy. It’s weird I have watched a lot of American dramas like the vampire diaries . The sword and the brocade makes me feel like an innocent child. I really love everything about this drama. This drama changed how I think about relationship and marriage.

honestly, this was my favorite drama. I was so impressed with the characters and their development. He genuinely loved her. I don't believe he loved his late wife like that. I loved how he was so patient with her, and was able to tell who she really was.
Shiyi was the only woman he ever loved, and he fell hard for her, her problem initially was that she didn’t fully trust anyone including him. This was a beautiful drama one of my absolute favourites, I just loved these two together , she really bought out the best in him and gave him happiness in his life for the first time, she changed him and the entire family.x

He fell in love for the first time...after he married Shiyi. She really changed his outlook...she made him a better father to his sons...she helped mend his relationship with his brother. She really changed the entire Xu family. He was really lucky to have her....and she was just as lucky to have him. They completed each other. If you like her then you should watch Under the Power, The Fox's Summer and Go Ahead. You might also like The Long Ballad, Eternal Love, The Story of Ming Lan, The Story of Yanxi Palace, Royal Feast, Dating in the Kitchen, A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College and I Hear You.

As for his first wife, I think at first he liked her (light crush), but she managed to spoil everything, following advices of her mother. After watching this lovely and romantic scene, I finally noticed he teared up too. Or an I just seeing things. She finally grew up and was able to speak her love.
You are not the only one who noticed this tear that rolled down. Seeing this, you understand how great a shock it was for him to realize the truth and how valuable it is for him. You realize this especially if you remember his words to his son that a man should not cry. Shiyi really matured completely, now her mind and life wisdom have been supplemented with a maturity of feelings. Lingyi finally got EVERYTHING he ever wanted and what, just a minute ago, he no longer hoped for.

It was amazing. I knew she was going to have to step up to the plate and admit her feelings for him...because her mistrust really hurt him. This was a long time in the making. His patience finally paid off. I just love them.

Wallace has no trouble with romantic scenes especially in the costume drama series the General and I, 2017. My favorite costume drama.
When you watch Seven Tan in Under the Power, 2020 costume drama it's very different then this type of one. I liked her more in that series. She plays great comedy.

I have watched this scene so many times but I still feel very shy. It’s weird I have watched a lot of American dramas like the vampire diaries . I agree...it was a time when love was so pure and innocent. He gave her his heart...and did so much for her while working behind the scene. The moment he realized that she wanted to be with him too was heartbreakingly beautiful...he waited a long time for her to finally be ready...and in that moment he knew that he finally conquered her stubborn little heart...lol

honestly, this was my favorite drama. I was so impressed with the characters and their development. He genuinely loved her. I don't believe he loved his late wife like that. I loved how he was so patient with her, and was able to tell who she really was.
Shiyi was the only woman he ever loved, and he fell hard for her, her problem initially was that she didn’t fully trust anyone including him. This was a beautiful drama one of my absolute favourites, I just loved these two together , she really bought out the best in him and gave him happiness in his life for the first time, she changed him and the entire family.x

@@FactsoverFear4 it’s not a period drama but I really loved Once we get married, it’s a contract marraige but a story about a lovely romance that develops and it doesn’t have any stupid breakups. Also another favourite is Sunshine of my life. A stunning costume drama is The Rebel Princess it is breathtaking, main leads chemistry is off the charts.

She was always condescending to him...and never allowed him to be the head of the household. She was forever complaining about him....He fought so many wars to keep himself busy and away from home.
He fell in love for the first time...after he married Shiyi. She really changed his outlook...she made him a better father to his sons...she helped mend his relationship with his brother. She really changed the entire Xu family. He was really lucky to have her....and she was just as lucky to have him. They completed each other.
If you like her then you should watch Under the Power, The Fox's Summer and Go Ahead. You might also like The Long Ballad, Eternal Love, The Story of Ming Lan, The Story of Yanxi Palace, Royal Feast, Dating in the Kitchen, A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College and I Hear You.
