The S58 will be a good potenzial beast when u looking at the B58 :D. The inroom Engine Sound is soooo smoth and same like the B58 without ASD noice from S55.
The problem with this engine is that the connecting rods are not forged and they come from the f90 M5 and they are not all that strong... so to me the isn’t forged connecting rods are a weak point in an engine like this...

good review, i just brought a 2019 one to go alongside my 800bhp rs7 c8, i can take my dogs in it and still have plenty of fun in it. I agree about the sound and the dials are way nicer on this model than the bmw backwards dials. Same dials i had in my last m5 f90. I may get this stage one tuned next
I work in BMW for a 11 year and this it’s great car I see it but not yet drive it . I thought I will buy it but the sound bad . Maybe will be great with M Performance kit but include 5000 Dollars, but I will wait for M3 and will see . It’s awesome car but EU regulations kills it 👎🏾
Just a thought, surely if you wanted a fast BMW any of the M series cars would be better? lighter, most are just as practical as this, and are more dynamic to drive without being less comfortable. So my question is why would you by this of any other "performance" SUV when there are are cars in these manufacturers' lineups that are just as good day to day, and yet will be more rewarding when thrashing them.
@@KrisBaca but I don't see anything these SUVs can do that the cars can't. The both carry stuff, people drive from a to b, go reasonably quickly. The SUV doesnt appear to do anything better than the car or that the car can't.
@@Dannyb340 M3/4s are great for canyon carving, track use, carrying speed through switchbacks, street hooning and just plain beautiful to look at (although the new ones will be hideous). What they're not great at is carrying long / tall weird shaped stuff, getting a good view of road, easy for people to get in/out of (especially 4+ people), etc. The X3/4MC give up some of that track /canyon carving / speed-carrying but still give you blistering SUV performance with all of the SUV qualities above. If you want to spend a lot on vehicles, get both; but if you want to pick just one, the X3/4M doesn't ask you to make as many performance trade-offs as other SUVs.
I remember when you did reviev about X3M40i and i see was very semilar interior and sound of the engine. I dont see any point to pay more for X3M so i will stay on X3M40i for myself :) Good reviev as always Max!

tbh the sound would make me not buy it. This would fit to an in-house BMW M car like the X3 M40 or something, but definitely not to an M Competition car. A GLC 63 is the way better option imo.

The EU regulations just kill the sound really. If you listen to the US model of this car it sounds so much better with pops and burbles. Quite sad for us living in europe, otherwise it’s a great car.
