The cool thing about our lyrical genius, Young K, is that he doesn't translate the song literally but contextually. U shud dig more into this multi faceted boy. If there's such thing as perfection - this boy is it ☺️
About the rap - apparently this song is Sungjin's (the leader) experience. He n the girl decided to have a cool off period. But he found out later, that she cheated on him at that time. So if u noticed in the rap - it says that 'I'm with Day6 now ..... I'm over you' & that 'My Days have been so good to me, thankfully... ' - that's a low key tribute to My Days, our fandom 😍
Young K (bassist/rapper) is definitely one of my all time favorite vocals. His voice is so so diverse, he can nail anything from balads to true pop-punk and even jazz (there is a video where they did a cover of something and he did like a "mouth saxophone solo" )... They don't have a lot of raps in their own songs but he did a few colabs on witch he raps (the one that comes to mind is with jamie on her debut album). Also both he and Jae have ICONIC raps in the jyp special 2018 and you definitely need to watch that because that whole video is pure gold. Also on the english note... This live studio version was shot right before they went out on their first world tour, after they practiced a lot. They've had their second world tour by now, so you should see them now. They've just been getting better and better. Also, the sampled cymbals in the live version are killing me. Give Dowoon a real kit!

congratulations also has a chinese version, also every day6 member can play more than one instrument. Sungjins main is guitar (mostly acoustic) but also can play piano, he also played bass for i love you part switch version i think, he can also play the cajon. Dowoon is the drummer but can also play piano wonpil is the synth/keyboard but can also do guitar jae our other guitar (mostly electric) can also play the bass, and keyboard young k the bass can actually just play everything. guitar, synth, drums. he was also the rapper in this mv and hes the rapper in most other songs with a rap except when he doesnt want to and then jae does it
Yay, more Day6! I get what you're saying about the English version, love the lyrics in it. Wonpil plays the keyboard as you noticed, so that's still all them now. Jae and Young K are fluent in English, iirc Jae grew up in Cali and Young K spent a few years in Canada. Side note: Jae has a YT channel (JaeSix) with some hilarious videos on it, they're all like 1-2 years old and they're just random stuff but he's really quite funny. There's also a video on that channel with Woosung/Sammy from The Rose (they're friends) that you might enjoy watching (in your own time or whatever)...Jae even tries to mimic Woosung's vocal style and it's pretty funny. Keep up the awesome work, love your reactions man! Edit: Lol, edited because I typed Wooyoung (like from Ateez) instead of Woosung. /sigh
There’s one memeber of Day6 that plays the guitar, wears glasses and looks like Chicken Little names Jae who was raised raised in America So obviously he can fluently speak English And then the bassist Young K aka Brian aka te lyrical genius lived in Canada for some years and now he is fluent The other members just know the basics like every kpop idol knows
My memory ain't what it used to be 🥴 I've also learned about like 20 new groups in the last 6 months and they all have like 73 members in them soo.... 🤷♂️
The guy in the video is actually Choi Woo Shik who is from the Oscar best picture Parasite. Awesome movie you should definitely check out. It's still playing in most theaters too! Would love to hear your thoughts about the movie in a review
Have you heard "Sorry" by the Rose yet? It was the song that got me into them. I still have it on my playlist. Love your reactions because they are honest and you aren't trying to get me to sign up for your Patreon or voice and guitar lessons. And you're a Buffy lover so you kinda have my heart Mr. as one of my most favorite RUclipsrs.
Oh wow what you said about the contrast between the first and second verse's lyrics and instrumentation is actually on point. The first verse is like really reminiscent and emotional because of the break-up, and the second verse is kind of like the "in denial stage" given the sarcastic lyrics and the up-beat-ish tone. That's really interesting. I never thought of it that way thank u!! : D
Fun fact, their video for a song released 2 years later called You Were Beautiful has the same actors & same relationship, but its from the girl's perspective, reminiscing on the good memories. Its an incredibly beautiful ballad!
After Junhyeok (the original keyboardist) left, Wonpil (originally just synths) took over keyboards and now does both. When they play songs live either they play prerecorded synths and he plays the keys live OR he plays one or the other (usually keys, it depends on the song).
I never had heartbroken but I strangely related to this song. Anyway, thankyou for reacting this sincerely and appreciating this song, hope you have a great day!
Personally, I feel that Day6 lives are way better than their recorded versions - with regards to their emotions, ad libs & raw music elements. U really have to catch them live, next time they visit NA.
I don’t know, I don’t usually enjoy people reacting to day6 because of their lack of music understanding AND kpop(except reacttothek because they are musicians) but you sir had just entertained me.
And after all these years, I'm back on the Day6 grind since their new album. But this time I've been more into reaction videos that I never knew existed until last year LOL. Thanks for reminding me that this english version exist cause I totally forgot 😅 I hope to see you react to their new album and maybe their Killing Voice!
Oh hey! You went with my suggestion! Thanks sir, this was a great video! :) Also 'Feel Special" in the background, nice :) I also prefer the English video, though I feel like a lot of the Korean lyrics are a little more biting. Especially the last line, which feels in English like he softens at the end, as opposed to Korean where he hardens at the end. This is, indeed, the only video of theirs with 6 members you have reacted too I believe. The Band: Jae (제이) - lead guitarist, lead vocalist (Guy with glasses. Speaks perfect English, was raised in California (I think)) Sungjin (성진) - leader, main vocalist, rhythm guitarist (Speaks decent English) Young K (영케이) - bassist, lead vocalist (Also speaks perfect English, raised in ... Canada I think?) Wonpil (원필) - synthesizer, keyboardist, lead vocalist (Speaks a few words of English) (He has been on Keyboards in all the other videos of theirs you reacted to as well. You commented on the keyboards a couple of times actually ;) ) Dowoon (도운) - drummer (Speaks a few words of English) This isnt helpful, but this version of "I loved you" (Which is kind of a follow on song) where they switch instruments is pretty cool ruclips.net/video/KkTqiP1RRYM/видео.html Great vid man!
Young K (aka Brian) was originally the rapper of the band, but as years went by they made him sing more in their songs and I'M SO GLAD THEY DECIDED TO GO THIS WAY. (even tho I still love his rap somehow in these rock songs lol)
They had two keyboardists in the beginning,Junhyeok and Wonpil (the latter has played synth only when junhyeok was still in the band and playing keyboard). Now Wonpil plays both keys and synth in all songs and it is actually him playing in every song you've listened to except this one
Love your reaction so much.Day6 are so talented and special 😍 day6 have a lot of live acoustic covers also there is English covers too. They make Korean songs rewritten to English you can find it if you search soundtrack day6 in RUclips. Basically They are really took this songs and make English versions. There is 5 songs members want to sing every member suggest 1 song. I hope l explained well. This songs are Masterpieces and underrated. There is bigbang's bad boy, crush's sofa and more. Please reaction🙏
Oh and if you want to check out how good they are at adapting "Korean-English translation songs" there is the series called Soundtrack it's a 5 ep. series in which Day6 adapt-covered songs like Wonder Girls' Like This, you wouldn't regret checking it.
I really love your reaction videos! I love how dig you deep into the actual music and analize and explain everything! It's really interesting. Thank you! I would reeally appreciate if you reacted to the new p Pentagon song, called Dr Bebe 💜
It's very difficult to translate Korean directly into English. The two languages are utterly different. They created English lyrics that retain the essence the Koren version of the song and also resonate emotionally with English speakers. Judging by your reaction they succeeded brilliantly. Keep in mind that JYP himself spent a lot of time in the US and is fluent in English.
There actually is a keyboardist. He was doing the falsetto in the chorus. His name is Wonpil. And there are two members that can speak English fluently, Jae (the one who started the song) and Young K (the one doing the rap)
the band was originally Young K vocals/rapper/bassist, Jae vocals/guitarist, SungJin vocals/guitarist, Wonpil vocals/synthesizer, Dowoon drums, and Junhyeok vocals/keyboard. After Junhyeok left Wonpil took over his part and plays keyboard and synth which honestly probably would've been done by one person in the first place if they hadn't had an extra member. Also Jae is American so he can obviously speak english and Young K learned English from watching Shrek repeatedly
its always interesting to see how they translate korean to english, you have to change the lyrics quite a bit for it to still sound right because what rhymes in korean wont usually rhyme in english. i get what you mean, the english version sounds more pointed towards the girl and you can really feel their anger and frustration. Jae and YoungK are the only ones fluent in english, Jae is from the US and YoungK/Brian is from canada. def watch a guide, these dudes are not only super talented but hilarious and you'll love their personalities.
Since you've now reviewed both Congratulations and You Were Beautiful (as of the date I'm watching this 😊) have you ever watched and listen to both, back to back....? I know people have told you they're linked, but it's amazing how the same story and home video footage you love, is used in both, but gives a totally different feel because of the editing (order it's placed) in the song and how the songs themselves are similar, yet so different. I'd love to hear what you think... Same base material, two different perspectives in time. CONGRATULATIONS At the point of break up (disintegration), when it's all raw and you're hurt and wanna belt it out of you. And YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL after some time had passed and you are looking back on the relationship, with perspective, and can be thankful for what it gave you, even though it still hurts a bit to remember what you lost. That's the hopeful misery you mentioned 😔🙂
Drucilla! I loved her in..season 2, was it? Jae aka "Chicken Little" aka lead guitarist was born in Argentina, but raised in California. Then freshman year (I believe) of college he went to South Korea to pursue music. And then Young K, the bassist, or as I call him, Not Brian, went to school in Toronto. I've read both high school and college, so I'm not sure which it truly was. Maybe a bit of both? His english name is Brian, but he prefers people address him by his stage name...so of course not a lot of people do. There's some funny clips with them on ASC and the host, Jamie, kept calling him Brian, even as he's explaining it's Young K. Towards the end she finally gets it. And then in another interview, he's introducing himself in french, but accidentally says Brian, then catches his mistake. They are the two primary English speakers of the group. Then Sungjin, the accoustic/rhythm guitar is now Bob the Builder thanks to Jae. Dowoon the drummer is a drum ("I'm drum.") thanks to broken english sentences, and there are other clips of him speaking random English and it is incredibly endearingly cute. Lastly there's Wonpil who is just Wonpil in name and he plays both synth and keyboard.
The actor (wooshik) is one of the lead actor's frm ds oscar winning film parasite he's a close friend of bts V they have a gang of A list actors in Korea those 2 along with park seojun , park hyungsik and peakboy (sorry i think peakboy is not an actor) their named themselves Wooga V work with da two park in a serial called Hwarang dats how their friend circle started wooshik joined and later peakboy did
originally junhyeok was on the keyboard and wonpil was on the synth. after junhyeok left wonpil took over keyboard AND synth, so he plays the keyboard live. thanks for the reaction! I would love to see you react to a full day6 album btw! my favorite is Entropy!!!
I actually listen to the English version of congratulations way more than the original, the lyrics just hit me better and I prefer the way it sounds. its strange because with most kpop translated to a new language it always sounds of but young K and Jae did really well.
You should watch You were beautiful by Day6 even just for the feels, it’s the sequel MV to congratulations 😅 and it has an english studio version too!!
i love it when there are obvious differences in eng and korean versions. like NCT 127's Regular. the korean and english versions are so diff, the message comes across diff
BTS will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on February 24th for a special telecast. The seven-piece group will do an extended interview with Fallon and a performance of a brand-new song, as well as take a tour of New York landmarks with the late-night host. “We wanted to do something special for BTS and, at the same time, celebrate New York City,” Fallon said in a release. “BTS really knocked it out of the park. You’re not going to believe how big and fun their performance is - they took over Grand Central Terminal.” The episode will feature Fallon interviewing the BTS members on the subway, asking fan questions that were previously sent in on February 6th. (Following the Tonight Show‘s call for submissions, #FallonAsksBTS trended at number one worldwide on Twitter.) They’ll also take a trip to New York’s iconic restaurant Katz’s Delicatessen. Tonight Show showrunner Gavin Purcell told Rolling Stone that this will be one of the most high-production episodes that the show has ever put out: “In terms of the production side, this [episode] was a pretty heavy lift. I can’t tell you how many people went into the making of this - it was the entire staff rallying together to make this really cool show. And on the BTS side, it was amazing to see how they rallied and how hard they worked. That’s something their fans know, but not only are they incredibly talented, they’re also so hardworking and humble.” CHEERS!
actually, day6 puts a lot of though when they do versions of their songs on different languages (i mean english as well as japanese) my favorite is you were beautiful be cause i can't choose, both versions are equally good
Before I comment the guides which I don’t think I need to because looks like many people already have I what to request some more Day6 because tfsyttfhftytfs I mean tbh I hav EXO stop myself from requesting their whole damn discography because I’m just so in love Okay but to start off il request this song that has been stuck in my head so much which is Out Of My Mind. It’s on their first mini album (along with congratulations) so Junhyeok is still in it. Idk really why I’m requesting it other than it’s a good song and I can’t stop humming it The next one is Whatever! Which is honestly one of my favorite Day6 songs and it’s just soooo freaking gooood. Brian/Young K the bassist, rapper, angel voice wrote this song when he was in college I believe and he just wanted to have fun. The song is supposed to represent his boredom but the song in my opinion is the opposite of boring The next two I recommend are I’ll Try and First Time because they both have beautiful harmonies and ahhhhhhhhh. I’ll Try is a sad slow song and has a full a cappella but at the end where even the drummer sings. And First Time is more energetic and is really really interesting and beautiful. Honestly I wish people talked about First Time more because it deserves more attention Then I also request You Were Beautiful because that’s a Day6 classic and is one of their most well known songs. Plus it’s made me sob and is so freaking beautiful Then for my last request (for now) is the entire The Book Of Us: Entropy album because it’s one of my all time favorite albums and listening to it full listen is one of the most amazing experiences ever. But if I had to choose one song in particular that you haven’t already reacted to to react to...I can’t so I’ll go with two Not Mine and Emergency Also Days Gone By Okay I’ll sTOP now before this turns into an essay on Day6 Which I would write that though But I love your channel a lot and I think you’re an amazing person and you make me so happy. So many channels make reaction videos just for clout and they’re always so boring, but you actually care about the music and give knowledgeable commentary and explain fancy music terms because you’re cool as fluff. You’re now one of my favorite reacting channels alongside Reacttothek and Form Of Therapy. I love you and I hope you have a wonderful Day/night ♥️
give me guide pls thnx

sungjin can play drums too. before day6 was formed, they were 5Live (this is w/o dowoon) he was the drummer
@@meiungires.-.2478 5live music is more acoustic tbh
And Sungjin play cajon, they didnt have drummer😊
Young K also used to play violin when he was a kid, also learned saxophone when he was in Canada.
@@putiparamitarosliyanti788 yooo ive never seen him play the violin thatd be sick on stage
dowoon can also play the guitar. He played the guitar for sungjin and young k in their fan meeting you made my day XD
they still have a keybordist they just used to have 2 ....
Can't wait to see you watch a guide for them! I'm looking forward to your reaction to their personalities!
/sigh
'it's pretty good acting'
He was one of the main actors in Parasite which won 4 oscars few days ago 😅
There’s one memeber of Day6 that plays the guitar, wears glasses and looks like Chicken Little names Jae who was raised raised in America
So obviously he can fluently speak English
And then the bassist Young K aka Brian aka te lyrical genius lived in Canada for some years and now he is fluent
The other members just know the basics like every kpop idol knows
*acts like he hasnt watched multiple m/v of them with wonpil playing the keyboard*
Milynna Ng i lost it when hes like “i guess they lost the keyboardist” as if he’s not a whole visual in sweet chaos especially 😂😂
Well... ever thought maybe he didn't exactly pay attention??
My memory ain't what it used to be 🥴
I've also learned about like 20 new groups in the last 6 months and they all have like 73 members in them soo.... 🤷♂️
@@TheChampOfMedium it's totally okay thooo don't worry
"I think they jsut don't have a guy in the band doing it"
Wonpil: am i a joke to you?
The guy in the video is actually Choi Woo Shik who is from the Oscar best picture Parasite. Awesome movie you should definitely check out. It's still playing in most theaters too! Would love to hear your thoughts about the movie in a review
HEY U PROBABLY NOT GONNA SEE THIS BUT YOU NEED TO WATCH THE CONTINUE OF THIS MV THE MV CALLED (YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL)
I love the way you react to day 6! It gets me really hooked to their vocals! And how they write the lyrics, the message!
If you see mydays singing to this song, you will get goosebumps ;)
Could you also react to their "You were so beautiful" MV. It's kinda like a continuation of this mv u just watched.
this
The Day6 guys have really great personalities! I think you'll love em.
YAAAAAAAAAAS A FREAKING GUIDE
That makes me so freaking happy
Day6 are my loves and so I’m just like dying of happiness rn
Have you heard "Sorry" by the Rose yet? It was the song that got me into them. I still have it on my playlist. Love your reactions because they are honest and you aren't trying to get me to sign up for your Patreon or voice and guitar lessons. And you're a Buffy lover so you kinda have my heart Mr. as one of my most favorite RUclipsrs.
“Pretty good acting” is right! That’s my Oscar winning MAN Choi Woo Shik!!
I can't believe I didn't even know about the English version! I like it. Also, I love you for the Buffy reference at the beginning of the video!
That's good company to be in
Thank you for this reaction! Love your shirt lol
And after all these years, I'm back on the Day6 grind since their new album. But this time I've been more into reaction videos that I never knew existed until last year LOL. Thanks for reminding me that this english version exist cause I totally forgot 😅
I hope to see you react to their new album and maybe their Killing Voice!
Oh hey! You went with my suggestion! Thanks sir, this was a great video! :) Also 'Feel Special" in the background, nice :)
I also prefer the English video, though I feel like a lot of the Korean lyrics are a little more biting. Especially the last line, which feels in English like he softens at the end, as opposed to Korean where he hardens at the end.
This is, indeed, the only video of theirs with 6 members you have reacted too I believe.
The Band:
Jae (제이) - lead guitarist, lead vocalist (Guy with glasses. Speaks perfect English, was raised in California (I think))
Sungjin (성진) - leader, main vocalist, rhythm guitarist (Speaks decent English)
Young K (영케이) - bassist, lead vocalist (Also speaks perfect English, raised in ... Canada I think?)
Wonpil (원필) - synthesizer, keyboardist, lead vocalist (Speaks a few words of English) (He has been on Keyboards in all the other videos of theirs you reacted to as well. You commented on the keyboards a couple of times actually ;) )
Dowoon (도운) - drummer (Speaks a few words of English)
This isnt helpful, but this version of "I loved you" (Which is kind of a follow on song) where they switch instruments is pretty cool
ruclips.net/video/KkTqiP1RRYM/видео.html
Great vid man!
young k wasn't raised in canada, but he studied there for a couple years!
@@verminguts Gotcha. I was going off the top of my head, and I just remembered Canada :)
They still have a keyboardist Wonpil !he is the guy you usually compliment for his falsetto
My second favorite Day6 song!!
I like every reaction you have on Day6 songs✨
After Junhyeok (keyboard) left. Wonpil initially the synth. got 2 roles. He’s now on the Keyboard along with the synth.
Jae (guitarist with glasses) is American. Also Young K (bassist) used to live in Canada for years. That’s why they both speak english well. 😁😊
Alright comment section, next iternational concert tour we gonna get this man to a DAY6 concert, hi-touch included! ✊
plsss ur day6 reactions r my fav 😭😭😭😭😭😭
"I dont think they have a keyboardist". Wonpil has left the chat
OMG! Please react to their "Kstyle Day6 Soundtrack" where they sing 5 famous Korean songs but they rewrote the lyrics into English.
Yes! Those are so good. I'd love to hear a reaction!!
by the way, there IS a keyboardist in the band. His name is Wonpil. He also plays the synthenizer.
I really love your reaction videos! I love how dig you deep into the actual music and analize and explain everything! It's really interesting.
Thank you!
I would reeally appreciate if you reacted to the new p
Pentagon song, called Dr Bebe 💜
thank you for your reaction i'm enjoy your video very much
Just got into ur channel and I love ur reactions!! You’re so insightful and the general comments you make are amazing! Keep it up~!
Thanks Shrimpy!... i like your name
I love the word okay in Young K's rap where he says "My Days have been good to me" bc My Days is their fandom name
Finally! Someone's checking out the English version😇
Quit making me feel so nostalgic!
You should check out some of their lives covers of popular English songs
Wonpil durning this video: "am i a joke to you?"
That's the hopeful misery you mentioned 😔🙂
soft boi metal musician here
Rewatch these songs on Valentine's day, and you'll actually go into tears- it's the 13th for me and I legit am gonna cry in class
"His voice sounded a little bit like RM's."
ARMYDAYS are screaming as we speak!
Gonna watch even though I'm at work lol. Clicked like already :)
When that guy in the end of the Korean version was crying, i cried too cuz i.can.relate.
Also sorry I’m commenting a lot but
I also recommend Jannabi, Wetter, The Rose And ONEWE
And obviously moRE day6
YES ONEWE!
Yes to all these bands!
I just listened to Wetter for the first time like a week ago and I'm IN LOVE, also listen to HERD!!!
Manon Farsy
YEEEEESSSSS
Phoebe Yuu
Of course
They’re all incredible
I would love to see you react to a full day6 album btw! my favorite is Entropy!!!
also jae and youngk are fluent in english! jae grew up in LA and youngk went to high school in toronto
IM SO EXCITED
Jae, the guitarist with glasses, is actually American and Young K, the bassist, can speak English perfectly because he studied in Canada
Young K lived in Canada for high school and Jae is American. they are the English speakers of Day 6
i love it when there are obvious differences in eng and korean versions. like NCT 127's Regular. the korean and english versions are so diff, the message comes across diff
Hey, I think you should react to Day6's Stop Talking 😉
They actually passed the keyboard position to Wonpil who plays synth and keyboard for the band now
YAY YAY YAY THANK YOU
They used to have more than one person for synth and keyboard. Wonpil does both on his own now
BTS will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on February 24th for a special telecast.
You’re not going to believe how big and fun their performance is - they took over Grand Central Terminal.”
The episode will feature Fallon interviewing the BTS members on the subway, asking fan questions that were previously sent in on February 6th.
That’s something their fans know, but not only are they incredibly talented, they’re also so hardworking and humble.”
CHEERS!
you watch Congratulations then its time to take the part2.. You were beautiful mv and the Eng. Version of it..
actually, day6 puts a lot of though when they do versions of their songs on different languages (i mean english as well as japanese) my favorite is you were beautiful be cause i can't choose, both versions are equally good
These rock songs you should listen to
FT. Island
Hyukoh indie rock
Led Apple kpop rock
CNBlue
ROYAL PIRATES
Wetter indie rock
Okay but like
Those lyrics on the English version
Deep
Both are deep
And now I’m probably gonna listen to both
I love Day6 so much imma cry
Man i love when you react to Day6
You should check:
1. Day6 - If
2. Day6 - Breaking Down
Those MV have good Japanese rock vibe.
"I know you too damn well yeah" **crying intensifies** lol
Yes please do reactions to guides! Try videos from wonpilates channel
Before I comment the guides which I don’t think I need to because looks like many people already have
I what to request some more Day6 because tfsyttfhftytfs
I mean tbh I hav EXO stop myself from requesting their whole damn discography because I’m just so in love
Okay but to start off il request this song that has been stuck in my head so much which is Out Of My Mind. It’s on their first mini album (along with congratulations) so Junhyeok is still in it. Idk really why I’m requesting it other than it’s a good song and I can’t stop humming it
The next one is Whatever! Which is honestly one of my favorite Day6 songs and it’s just soooo freaking gooood. Brian/Young K the bassist, rapper, angel voice wrote this song when he was in college I believe and he just wanted to have fun. The song is supposed to represent his boredom but the song in my opinion is the opposite of boring
The next two I recommend are I’ll Try and First Time because they both have beautiful harmonies and ahhhhhhhhh. I’ll Try is a sad slow song and has a full a cappella but at the end where even the drummer sings. And First Time is more energetic and is really really interesting and beautiful. Honestly I wish people talked about First Time more because it deserves more attention
Then I also request You Were Beautiful because that’s a Day6 classic and is one of their most well known songs. Plus it’s made me sob and is so freaking beautiful
Then for my last request (for now) is the entire The Book Of Us: Entropy album because it’s one of my all time favorite albums and listening to it full listen is one of the most amazing experiences ever. But if I had to choose one song in particular that you haven’t already reacted to to react to...I can’t so I’ll go with two Not Mine and Emergency
Also Days Gone By
Okay I’ll sTOP now before this turns into an essay on Day6
Which I would write that though
But I love your channel a lot and I think you’re an amazing person and you make me so happy.
