I just got one that is exactly like yours -- but not. It also has a temperature mode (Celsius only, alas), and the night-time dimming time range is preset and can't be changed. Also, unfortunately, the power plug slot is too small to allow the plug head to tuck down all the way. And, like yours., mine is about 1/60th scale compared to the seller's illustrations.
I just bought two of these, intending on giving one to my mother to use outside, but since it's only celcius, the temp is useless to her. I understand °C, but she's elderly, and never used it in her life. I wish I could find one of these with °F.
Looks cool but I'm kinda spoiled now by radio-controlled analogue and Google Assistant-enabled smart digital clocks to spend any money on a dumb one. If this one updated itself via wi-fi or Bluetooth, could display outside / ambient temperature, had adjustable colours, a polarised plastic cover to improve contrast between lit and unlit segments in bright light, and even maybe voice or app control, I'd go for it - not for any of the main rooms, as they're quite traditional in decor, but my 8yo would love it to hang on his wall. Maybe I'll have to build him one...
Also keep in mind that the 2 watt power consumption is never lost. Most of it will be converted to heat. Great on the northern hemisphere nowadays. :-)
I can set the time but the two middle lights continue to flash and the display shuts down. When I touch it again it lights up but shuts down after about ten seconds?

When I go to shut off the alarm, it doesn't work. It switches through modes like temperatures and other stuff. Also the middle dots flash for some reason.
Very helpful. Thank you!
Why do I think the script for this episode will soon be available in print...with this clock.
I should put the transcript in the description and see if it ends up in the manual
@@bigclivedotcom The episode URL could diplayed as an QR code sticker on the back of the clock.
The clock-maker would have to pay you not to take the video down of course.
It’s as if he actually made the clock himself and wrote the book on how it works, and that’s why he’s able to recite it so fluently.
Good video clive
I received this clock but it only works with the plug. It has a 3v battery option but it doesnt light up with just the batter installed. Is the battery casing bad?
The battery is just for memory backup. It wouldn't run the full display for very long.
I have this problem too. Did you figure out the reason why the battery doesn’t work?
It's great to have a video on this clock. At first I couldn't even find where to plug the cord into the clock, LOL, who would expect it to plug it in slantingly, lol.
Hey is there a way to turn the clock off during night time cause it’s right next to my bed pls help
Hello, I connected it on my PC and set the time and date. But everytime i unplug my computer and open it again, the clock is on default mode (you have to reset it everytime you open your pc). Can it work like regular clocks? If not, Can I use it USB adaptor and plug it strsight to wall socket and leave it 24/7? Pls help me. Thank uyou
Yes. It works with a standard USB charger.
Unrelated but after properly functioning for some time, my clock started malfunctioning of some sort. Whenever it goes off, I have to tap it in order for it to light up which occurs every 30 seconds.
help meee,, how to turn off the sleep mode?
Thought you changed the LED's with the thumbnail
Total clickbait came here for the hack. stayed for the tutorial...?
tell me what is the cable length?
From where do we get it & what's the price?
So what the battery for ? When we using usb cable ! I bought a battery 3v and it’s never worked
It's to keep the time when unplugged.
help please!!! spent hrs. trying to set this clock I ONLY WANT THE TIME DISPLAY- Please how do i do that. THANK YOU! xox
This clock is nice, but that clickbait thumbnail with green digits...
I expexted Some soldering action
You just have to add filter gel.
You can get it in green.
@@bigclivedotcom I know I can get these in various shapes and colours, but all of them are only one color, not two like in thumbnail.
I can set the time but the two middle lights continue to flash and the display shuts down. When I touch it again it lights up but shuts down after about ten seconds?
Answering my own problem!
I pressed the reset button and now I can follow these instructions.
The night time mode is still very bright :/ can I turn the brightness of the nighttime mode down?
Only by putting a filter over the front of the display.
How accurate is the timekeeping on it? I recently bought a chinese clock kit and it gains half an hour every day - I've yet to have time to get it back on the bench and figure out where the issue lies.
Suggest you replace the Crystal r.s. used to sell for about 5p did this with cheap watches and improved accuracy
Mine arrived yesterday and to my surprise the display can be sound activated!
