Ian Thorpe faces uphill medal battle

an Thorpe faces an uphill battle to win more medals at the 2012 Olympics, former US Olympic swimming champion Mark Spitz said in an interview published Wednesday.
Thorpe announced his retirement from swimming in 2006 before last month announcing he was returning for a tilt at the London Games.
Thorpe has been preparing for the 2012 Games by training with Russian-born swim coach Gennadi Touretski in Switzerland.
