    Nice audio setup! Wished all the Airpulse series speakers would have a subwoofer output makes it so much easier to upgrade an audio system.

    I hear you bro you got a nice set of bookshelf speakers and a awesome subwoofer can’t go wrong with the SVS subwoofers they are the best in the business

    However the tough part about having a nice system at your mom‘s is that you can’t let it go all the time that’s for sure you gotta keep it turned down until you get to your own place

    LOL I have the same setup before. I upgraded to SVS Ultra Bookshelf now but I'm still using my A100 on my small room.

    Hi. I can see that you connected the speakres to sub through LFE. So crossover is being done on the speaker side? Or you manage that in the app for sub?

      Yes, it’s connected through LFE and I manage it via the SVS app for the subwoofer. Crossover settings, eq and more are in the app

    Hi, did you have any issues with the Airpulse A100? What year is the production of your A100? You can find out by making a photo with flash through the back port onto the backside of the ribbon tweeter there's a production date. My A100 sometimes when turned and not playing music makes a very loud screeching sound followed by very loud snaps/pops from the tweeter, the ribbon tweeter actually damaged (small bulge) because of this. Also sometimes the tweeters make a muffled screeching sound, when turned off and back on they sound normal again. Did you experience this? The A100 speakers actually have this same issue as 2 sets of Edifier s880db that I own have! It's not because of my setup I think since I had this issue via optical on a tv, via rca (via external dac), and via usb on laptop. It's clearly the inner electronics/dac. the s880db and A100 both seem to have the same audio interface, same type of display, both turn on on mid volume and don't remember previous volume settings, and they were released around the same date. Edifier needs to sort their quality issues out, at this price point this is unacceptable.

      The only issues I’ve had is when I turn them on or off, the connected sub makes a thump when it turns on too. I think there are way to mitigate that as well, but it doesn’t affect me anymore because I use the A100 as rear bookshelves now. Overall, haven’t had any problems with them in like 2 years, have you contacted Edifier or Airpulse support about this?

      @@nigamichigami Thank you for your reply! I've also had that sub thump but think it's normal. Makes me think I'm just unlucky with this pair or the earlier produced ones have more issues?, I haven't read similar reviews as my experience from the A100, but from the Edifier s880db I read 2 Japanse amazon reviews of similar issues, explosion sounds from tweeters, tweeters/woofers malfunctioning. Edifier doesn't offer any repairs, such a shame, so guess I'm gonna look for other speakers as this is just scary, the feeling of the tweeters blowing your eardrums out at any moment when not playing music is just crazy. The A200 has older tech and possibly doesn't have this issue, only thing is that it doesn't have a sub output, no usb input and worse bluetooth. :/

    Hi friend !!! I have Airpulse A80 and A200. I suggest you use yours with a good amplifier or receiver. I use mine connect to a THX AAA 789 amp that you can find at ebay and the sound is INCREDIBLE !!!! With this amp, you will listen a real sound this speakers are capable !!! please, try it.

      Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll check it out as I continue to upgrade the system.

      So you think that is better with a combo of dac + amp? The speakers themselfs are not good enough?

    • @nigamichigami
      @nigamichigami  2 года назад

      With any headphones, iem's, or speakers, having a dac and amp will probably round out the setup and help ensure the best audio quality, but it is not required at all. Even playing a 256kbps mp3 via bluetooth on the A100 sounds a lot better than playing lossless audio on the S350db. The speakers anyway have a usb input, too, so they can run 24 bit 192khz without separate dac + amp. Personally, I think upgrading the actual speakers is much more meaningful than buying a dac or amp (its better to buy $500 headphones than $250 headphones with a $250 dac+amp).

    This pairing doesn't play well. The subwoofer does not fit these speakers. He plays separately from them, it is very audible even when he is in the center. and if you shift it, it will be absolutely terrifying.

      Moving from a Bose soundbar and bass module to this setup for basically the same price was miles better, and I think most people know not to trust old iPhone mics and RUclips audio quality lol. For the price, and time in my system journey, the pairing worked very well, but now the Airpulses are my rear speakers and I have a dual sub setup. If you can plan ahead while budgeting, i think it’s fun to play around with different equipment to fit your needs!
