Saw them open for Dream Theater Saturday March 12, 2022, they were magnificent and phenomenal. Superb performance. A better opening band for DT could not possibly have been chosen.

I honestly have never heard ANY song of theirs that I didn't like. That is sooo rare!
The music is charming enough, but what I appreciate most here is the smiling. There's no coldness in the performance, just joy and sincerity. Great job, guys.
There's something really endearing and awesome about the comp of the keyboards in this. Reminds me of the 70s and 80s before everyone started programming all their synth parts. It feels "played" and not programmed
You listen to dream theater? Huge shades of their keyboardist in Joey's playing, in a good way of course. Different genres to an extent but his playing gives me the same feeling
@@kidtrinity2157 Prog metal, especially like this, I think is safe to say is in the same genre as DT. More specifically Liquid Tension Experiment. While those artists shaped my musical tastes when I was young, I find this infinitely more engaging than either of hose collaborations.
@@Kira-qc4qi that's fair! I definitely agree on the similarities between them. I just think "progressive metal" to be a sort of catchall term these days is all. When bands like porcupine tree (who rule, of course, but are much less progressive in terms of songwriting than any of these bands) fall under the same classification it feels weird to denote the similarities without also denoting their differences. Just my personal opinion and certainly not one I expect to influence anybody
I hear a lot more modern "djent"/jazz fusion influence in arch echo than I do a lot of other bands classed as prog is all

it's funny ... these comments about how nerdy / geeky this video comes off ... however, there is absolutely NOTHING common about their level of musicianship, writing, engineering, performance, chops ... it's the highest of the highest level.
This song has the greatest keyboard solo I have ever heard. So many fast super melodic runs and arpeggios packed into it. Sick bends. Two handed technique. Super satisfying.

Okay, I think well over 20 times listening to this song is enough to finally comment on this unsurprising masterpiece.
This song is so fun! Epic... It's a journey through a plethora of emotions, expressed in such a way that a return to the liveliness of the supremely energetic catch-melody was tear-jerking and a brilliant relief after such an impressive line of talent springs from everyone in the band. This song has me so incredibly stoked on the EP, as the indication of excellence certainly lies in this song.
