Fin.K.L (Hangul: 핑클) is a K-pop idol girl group formed by DSP Media in 1998 consisting of members Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yu-ri. Fin.K.L was one of the most popular K-pop groups of the late 1990s and early 2000s, alongside rival girl group S.E.S. The group cemented their popularity in Korea with the release the songs "To My Boyfriend" in 1998, "Forever Love" in 1999, and "Now" in 2000.
The group released four full-length albums: Blue Rain (1998), White (1999), Now (2000), and Forever (2002). They won several major awards including New Artist of the Year at the 1998 Golden Disc Awards, the Grand Prize at the 1999 Seoul Music Awards, and Best Female Group at the 2000 Mnet Music Video Festival. Fin.K.L became inactive after releasing the single, "FinKL", in 2005. However, Fin.K.L reunited on a variety show in July 2019 and released Fin.K.L Best Album, including a new song titled "Just Like the Song That Remains" on September 22.
Lee Hyori (Leader, Sub-vocal) (이효리; 李孝利), born May 10, 1979. She made her solo debut in August 2003 with the release of Stylish.... The album sold over 150,000 copies and spawned the hit single "10 Minutes". The song received widespread recognition in Korea and led her to win numerous grand prizes (daesangs) at domestic year-end award ceremonies, including at the KBS Music Awards, SBS Gayo Daejeon, Mnet Music Video Festival, and the Seoul Music Awards. Her significant popularity in Korea at the time was dubbed the "Hyori Syndrome" by Korean media, with some also deeming 2003 "the year of Hyori". Her sophomore studio album, Dark Angel (2006), spawned several singles including "Get Ya!". Her 3rd studio album, It's Hyorish (2008) became the best-selling album by a female soloist in 2008. Its single, "U-Go-Girl", ranked atop the music program charts for multiple weeks. She subsequently took a temporarily hiatus from the entertainment industry, and became a spokesperson for various causes such as animal rights. On television, she was dubbed the "Nation's Fairy" during her days on variety show Family Outing, and received the Grand Prize at the 2009 SBS Entertainment Awards for the program (alongside Yoo Jae-suk). In 2006, she became the highest-paid female singer in Korea when she signed a contract with Mnet Media. The Korea Times named her one of the top 10 Most Influential Women on the Cultural Scene since 1950. Mnet ranked her number 42 in their Legend 100 Artists list in 2013. Aside from Fin.K.L, she has also participated in several project groups, including Refund Sisters and SSAK3 in 2020.

She released 3 solo albums and has participated in musicals, namely Wicked, Aida, Chicago, Cats, 42nd Street, and The Count of Monte Cristo. After their hiatus in 2002, she became an actress.
