- This episode looks at the fake teeth-whitening businesses that ruined customers' teeth, fake headphones, fake halogen heaters which put a woman's life in danger and the hidden secrets of the fake beauty gadgets.

I bought Skullcandy headphones for £10 on Amazon (the cheapest on their website at the time was £75 on sale). I was very happy with the quality of the pair that came, better audio than my last pair, had the casual listener look I was going for, folded and it was everything I thought it was going to be.
And it still is. Two years later, the headphones continue to work perfectly.
My point is, yes you can get quality products for much cheaper online, but you have to do research on the product and dig at the seller. In my case, the seller I had chosen //was// actually Skullcandy on Amazon. They have a page where they sell older models cheaper than their newer stock. I wanted something within budget (as a student) that looks good and by a brand I //know// has decent quality. That's what I got.
Other people may not be as aware of these things before making a purchase, or they have the money to blow on a gamble without the prior research. I don't think he deserved getting scammed, nobody does. Some people don't have the prior experience to think better before purchase that's all.

I bought one of those fake Clarisonic's, but it wasn't trying to be one of the originals, I knew it was a knock off for $20 AUD how wouldn't, and I have had it for 3 years, and it works great.
That Michael guy barely makes mention of headphones’ sound. He talks more about the feeling of them on his ears, like it’s an erotic experience.

Because they are Beats, they have terrible sound quality and I wouldn't be surprised if the knock off ones sounded better! With brands like Beats and Bose it all about the brand, marketing and hype, basically making people believe that because they've spent so much then they must be the best. At least with Sennheiser their products are worth the money and sound and build quality for the price is of utmost importance.
Anyone who buys beats aren't concerned about the sound, it's the name they are buying. Just like IPhones

I warned people on a fake site on face book for cheap plastic venears ,only worth two pounds which they were selling for hundred pounds and more, and the site blocked me ,lol
Teeth whiteness- the high potency kits can turn your gums white in 5-10 minutes they have 36-38% hydrogen peroxide. Kits dentists recommend have 5-6.5 % and generally don't hurt your gums. You can find the high potency kits on Amazon, they should be pulled because people tend to think Amazon wouldn't sell the stuff if it wasn't safe, right? You certainly don't want to leave the chemicals on your teeth overnight, 30 minutes is likely the longest you can safely use the stiff, in reality they work in 5-10 minutes, leaving it on longer doesn't cause your teeth to become whiter. I've tried them all, being in the medical field. if it hurts listen to your body and stop immediately. Rinse with warm water having a teaspoon of salt per 6-8 ounces to deal with hurting gums

Isn't it possible to just steadily whiten your teeth by brushing your teeth with a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide at home? I would try that instead of these things done by the consumers on the show. If that does not work then go to a professional.

Funny how the wires in the genuine plug are as thin as the ones in the fake one yet he doesnt mention it. I used alot of cheap electrical items from china and never ever had problems with it. Some may have broken down quicker but it was never dangerous. I understand that there are some rare cases and exceptions, but this show uses these exceptions to make every cheaper item look like a danger to your life. I could probably name you any item and they would still find something to tell you that the cheaper one from china will kill you and the genuine one wont lol. "This doormat from china is made from inferior materials, on a rainy day the buyer could easily slip which could have a serious impact on their health. We're talking loss of life here."

At 19:01 you can see that the rubber caps would catch the metal mesh that fell off the earbuds. Also at 42:13, there is nothing wrong with the fake charger. It is cheap and low quality, but not dangerous. A few seconds earlier this "expert" said he is concerned with the transformer...but clearly the transformer in the genuine one is the same.

Some fakes are made to be of FAR inferior quality just to steal from customers. Those fakes legitimately piss me off.
Most fakes (even inside China) are actually of similar quality. The quality is high enough that people don't care, especially if they're getting a steep discount.

I got headset from a computer shop for gaming and for watching vids on my laptop headset was 5.1 sound brand was trust cost me 30 quid and sound quality was bloody good so good that when hearing a police car in the background of a movie ended up looking out me window
