It totally depends, if you find them being aggressive or eating the fries, separate them. You can feed them baby brine shrimp or other options available in nearby pet stores
The male is larger and his fins are longer and have more of a point. The female has all the color, she should show orange on her belly and her fins will be blueish yellow
Hello !! I have a 3x1.5x1.5 feet with with a hardscape done. At present there are 4 blue polar convict cichlids of about 3 inches and a firemouth of around 4 iches in my tank. I'm not sure what kind of fish you raise If the type of fish you are raising is the same as mine, your eggs may not have been fertilized and the eggs will be damaged, the eggs of the fish will be opaque white and then the mother will eat the eggs. , if the eggs of the fertilized successfully, the eggs will be transparent and slightly black, the eggs will hatch after about 24 hours If the fish you are raising is AGFDG Well, my condolences because this fish is not a natural fish that it was bred from, so the male of this species is infertile, so it is impossible to use 2 males and females of the same type to breed. next generation You can read more about this fish on the aquarium website Have a nice day My Friend
I had 30 fry in my 4 feet tanks with many cichlids. I couldn't get the fry out. 2 weeks past the convict parents weere procting them but then now the fry seems all gone! They are eaten? I'm so gone!
Next time work harder to remove the fry. To do so you may have to remove some of the other fish, and often all of the decor and heater, filter etc. It can be a really big job, and with a 4 foot tank an ENORMOUS job. Last summer It took me about 8 hours to thoroughly search a 60 Gallon 2x and retrieve 11 baby Demasoni. I would suggest placing any fish that you are attempting to breed in a smaller tank to facilitate the survival of the fry. It can be very difficult and time consuming as is anything worth while , but if you want to breed fish it is often ESSENTIAL to remove them from all other adult fish , in some cases including both parents.
It may be due to the characteristics of each fish. Not all brood pairs are so good The second one: Maybe because the environment is stressful or lack of nutrients before entering the spawning process But it is best to choose a suitable brood pair if you like to breed

Those are the only -4-subspecies directly associated as a Convict. Those faces😅r to cool-cheeks/cool/however-a convict of any color wouldn’t let them evolve into even juvenile males and females/plus my -3O/G males, stripped/pink/white/calico & blue-eyed-@ a yr. Old are between 6-8”. Probably hybrids. Blood parrot 🦜. Not sure my 10” blood parrot’s r king’s of the eggs/eaters..and would never mate? Idk? Keep. In mind I’m dealing with hundreds-& can tell those are not true convicts. Cool little fish
How on earth do you manage to rehome all those babies? My Electric Blue Acaras had about 300 (in two batchs) in February. I think that batch 2 (about 230) was triggered by the fact that I put all of batch one (about 70) in a breeder box when I mistakenly thought that the parents were eating the babies - they were not , but were simply moving them about with their mouths. Unlike in finding Nemo, fish do not have "hands" lol. But yeah - its now 7 months on & I STIll have some babies left to rehome! I will keep a total of 4 babies, but yeah - really don't want any more EBA babies! :) WONDERFUL VIDEO BTW!!! I am so impressed with how you managed to edit it. I have lots of footage but not the foggest idea as to how to edit anything!

They have a natural white color with black striping as an overlay, but their chests and fins are a vibrant blue with other colors overlapping. Some are a little more blue than others, some are more black, and some are even white under silver!

You should have a gentle filter and small feed when the fry are 1 week old These fish are very well-reared and my fish have spawned many times Unfortunately, now the parents are gone

(again personal experience - I currently have 3 Demasoni Tanks - Adults (23G0, Juvies(16 G) & Babies (10 G). For tiny newborns I use breeder boxes if the ones in the bay tank are too big for safety - yes - baby Demasoni can and do eat their siblings if they can fit them into their mouths! If you are going to raise fish just get a 2nd (or more) tank and save yourself a lot of heartache. In Canada where I live you can easily get a 10 gallon with everything (heater, filter) included for about $100. A 20 is only a little bit more - as of 2023 about $140. For a basic inexpensive aquarium kit I highly recommend the Top Fin Essentials Aquarium Starter Kit. And no I do not have any affiliation with Pet Smart. I just want to help people to get inexpensive aquariums as needed - and IMO having fry means you need at least 2 tanks. That said, down the road if you get into serious fishkeeping you will probably want fancier better quality tanks (like Fluval Vista - my personal fav - I have 2 - 16 Gallons & 3 - 23 Gallons ), but early on those first 3 10 Gallons were literally the difference between life and death for many fish - and even now one of the Top Fin 10 Gallons is in use for fry and a Top Fin 5 Gallon is a dedicated hospital tank !

Depends on Species - with the ones in the Video the dad must be removed earlier then the Mum, but both can stay for several days.
