WR should be the Carolina Panthers top priority heading into the 2024 NFL Draft

- During the 2023 season, the Carolina Panthers WR room earned the unenviable label as the worst in the NFL. Because of that, the Panthers went to work this offseason to help put pieces around Bryce Young. To this point, the only major addition the Panthers have made at WR is the trade for former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Diontae Johnson.
Carolina does return veteran slot receiver Adam Thielen, fresh off of a 1,000 yard season, and will bring back Jonathan Mingo for his sophomore season. Do the Panthers have enough in the receiver room to help Bryce Young in 2024? Julian Council explains why he believes the Panthers top priority in the draft should be wide receiver and lists prospects who could fit in Carolina.

LADD MCONKEY FTW!!! 😂 Makes me think "if the robot from Pee Wee's Playhouse were Scottish"
ISM is going to impress in camp and preseason...Watch !
Agreed. He looked like Robbie Anderson, but good, lol. Oh, I'm sorry, "Chosen" (rolls eyes).
Ladd McConkey is cool but I don't believe his value is worth the 33rd pick when your team lacks a true X receiver. I wouldn't use my 33rd pick on a slot receiver. This WR class is so deep that you can get a slot receiver in one of the later rounds like a Malik Washington out of VA. Carolina needs a true X . Hopefully AD Mitchell is there waiting for us at 33. Ja'Lynn Polk, Keon Coleman and Javon Baker are also a few names I like on day 2 with the potential to be the X receiver we need. #KeepPounding
33 and 39 Just depends on what happens in the 1st. If teams go crazy for QBs then they could make it hard to trade bk. Wr and c should share the top priority. If 2 centers go in the 1st ya need to sure that spot up. Definitely the top 4 most important needs. Just depends on the board
With the way this draft seems to be shaking out... I see somebody unexpectedly falling out of the 1st round. Maybe CB. Nate Wiggins, C. Jackson Powers Johnson, Brian Thomas Jr., etc. If this happens I feel like the Panthers should take one of them at 33... if this scenario doesn't play out... they should trade back enough spots to be able to pick up a 2024 2nd, a 2024 3rd and a 2025 3rd. To me... trading back, getting a haul like this would be ideal. This class is so deep at reciever that we still could land a really good one in a later round. Securing a C., a CB., an Edge Rusher and a TE. with the first four picks is the way to go... unless the value doesn't add up. RB., LB., and DL should finish things out. Maybe another WR. if they were to get that extra pick from trading down.
Julian when are we going to watch the Toad Video?
If we leave the draft without a starting caliber CB, it may signal that Gilly has already agreed to sign at a later date. 🙏🏾
Bryce has to be the top priority get WR, TE and RB
Keon may be built like an X, but that’s not the position he played in college, Johnny Wilson was the X. Coleman did not separate at all against college defensive backs so I don’t know how he’ll be able to against pro defensive backs. I understand that 40 time isn’t everything, but there are multiple red flags with Coleman.
I see Xavier Worthy, Keon Coleman, and Xavier Legette as similar NFL prospects in that they're all flawed and the hype has them projected well over their talent level. Worthy is too small and catches with his chest, Coleman has no deep speed and ability to separate but makes a living out jumping college athletes that may not translate to the NFL, then Legette has extremely limited success on certain routes and if he doesn't develop a lot more he's just a big slot guy at best. All those guys are great athletes with significant development needed for NFL play. I like them as late 2nd or early 3rd picks, but they're likely all gone by the early 3rd. Panthers better pray McConkey and Mitchell are there at 33 so they can take their pick of the versatile McConkey or the high updside X receiver in Mitchell. If the Panthers just take one of those guys they get immediate impact and avoid overdrafting athletic upside that they've already fallen for with Mingo last year.
They're not going to be able to draft the top-tier guys. So to a certain degree, any WR that's available at 33 is going to have some flaw that they'll need to overcome.
Pearsall from Florida?
I think we should pick a STRONG running back . Get back to the running game.
The investment in the OL should be enough to fix the running game. Chuba and Miles Sanders have shown that they're capable backs behind a healthy OL.
At this point if this doesn’t work for Bryce they’re just forcing it at this point
It'll be up to Tepper.
Ladd McConkey is the pick Young needs
OL should be the top priority...When Bryce had time he found his WR's. Does no good to draft WR's if Bryce does not have time to find them.
Yeah.. they did that in FA with the 2 guards. Moton is an ironman, Christensen can play w swing T or G , Ickey will most likely be much better with the guy to his right not being different every game (as was the case his rookie year where he looked like he was worth the pick). Also, Bryce did not always find his receivers when he had time because they weren't open many of those times. Mingo couldn't separate dried bread, Chark had flashes, but Thielen being the top WR was a big red flag that the corps need big help.
Give him time plz
better hope for AD Mitchell or you will be lucky to get 5 wins
I love what you have to say but the podcast is just too long. They are always 30 minutes or longer and most of us just don't have time to hear It all.
The format of Locked On is daily 30-minute podcasts. So it's not up to me.
I swear he made over 5 videos about this same topic already lol
Alas, I have to do this five days a week. Give it a try then report back.

I’m going to say it again! This is how our draft should go:
Pick 33 - WR
I prefer Adonai Mitchell BUT if he’s not there & Ladd McConkey is I’ll settle for Ladd. If there’s not a WR I want or value highly at pick 33 why not trade the pick for a starting caliber WR?
Tee Higgins might be available if the Bengals pick Brian Thomas Jr. or Brock Bowers, Brandon Aiyuk could be available since he’s disgruntled about his contract and Cortland Sutton has been a no show in voluntary practice because his contract situation. I can see a scenario where we tell Denver that if you want pick 33 to get Bo Nix swap 2 round picks give us a 4th or 5th rounder AND Cortland Sutton and it’s a deal. I can see Denver doing it because they’re desperate for a QB
Pick 39 - CB
Pick 65 - Center
Pick 101 - TE
Pick 141 - Best RB or LB available
Pick 142 - Best EDGE, DT or DE available
Pick 240 - A developmental player at CB, SS or FS. Someone like Qwan’tez Stiggers who played CB in the CFL.
My man, I went back and read comments from the past month and you're probably the most active viewer. I appreciate you and don't necessarily disagree with your point here.
Hope Canals can help But you drafted the #1 QB and put him on the worst team possible. No Line No WR just a flaming Dumpster of a team
Arm chair GM, says, "Draft Luke McCaffery in the 4th." Fans will be fucking thrilled to have an LMAC!
Not saying we shouldnt get a wr early, maybe Jerry Rice kid, grab those two,,,,, I would be stoked.
How many WRs ya'll need? Do you think if ya'll put 5 WRs on the field at once that will help Bryce?
Bruh we got 1 so far this offseason that’s not cutting it
@@bonerpics8811 The worst WR room in the league and somehow adding Diontae Johnson is enough for some people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I don't understand that one.
I thinknif u look at it, the only starting cb we have is JC, who cant stay healthy. We have 2 starting WRs, and wr is mich deeper than corner. I think CB at 33 and WR at 39 makes sense
I've been saying the same thing except the other way around we need a wide receiver at 33 and CB at 39
I agree if Dejean or Wiggins falls to 33, if not flip it and take WR 33 then CB 39. I wouldn't be mad at Darius Robinson instead of a CB, but we need a CB somewhere in the draft. Hell we need most positions after Fitterer did his work, lol.
Adam did his job last year .. double dip at WR in the 2nd . SIMPLE
Whats up Julian
What's goin on
