currently playing the game on ps2, never played it before. pukekohe took me ages to master, the chaotic starts, the hairpin that i couldn't figure out the braking point and the ai that inexplicably slowed down heading towards start and finish.. short, yet memorable circuit
Was it actually possible to ever get a decent start and keep with the pack in this game? I played for years when I was younger and got quiet competitive with it, but NEVER figured out the starts fully.
I think I managed it once or twice in this entire series, it was super rare but possible! Normally it was when I went unusually cautious on the throttle. I think it also relates to the “simulation” handling mode, possibly easier on the regular arcade one 😊
This game was amazing back in the day with pro-sim turned on. The Xbox Live league racing scene was thriving & super competitive.

Glad you are still enjoying the game! Best of luck 😊
It was Anthony Tratt that drove the TOLL car
Is it possible to do the full 161 laps of Bathurst in this game? I only had the first one and you could only do max 56 laps if I recall.
My dad would do the entire 161 laps back in the day
