Probably the best story I have ever heard narrated one this channel! I was bummed that your Lovecraft reading didn’t get a lot of views but this is the next best thing. Hoping to hear more literary masterpieces in the future!
For me,Lovecraft described things in such a way that I was filled with dread before the main horror even showed up. This author captured his style very well. Brattleboro, Vermont sounded like the new Arkham,Massachusetts lol! Great psychological horror tale. Thanks for your labors in narration,Doc. Your voice is a natural compliment for the Lovecraftian story. Take it easy till next. Peace.
Thank you so much Dr! I love your stories. They get me through so much. I look forward to each and every post. Your voice is soothing and helps me to relax. You and your family have a wonderful and blessed day.🤗💙🤫 quiet time happening now!!!! Love, Jess DuBois. NC 🇺🇸😘
This writer isn’t Lovecraft. They do not understand the flowery words which they are using nor do they use vocabulary wisely or well. Lovecraft wrote in a voice that was true to his own way of communicating on a daily basis. That is not the case for this writer thus it is badly executed prose. If this is how they speak on a daily basis they must live a lonely and frustrating life. Clearly someone wanted to use every $10 word in that new thesaurus. No concern was given as to proper word chose or meaning or clarity. This piece is So laden with words that are redundant or contradictory as to make it incomprehensible. First master writing and clarity in ones own voice before one tries to copy the style of an age in which one did not live and they cannot be competent in using.
Thanks so much doc for reading it out, it took immense hardwork and diligence in writing this one. Your narration is just the icing on the cake, very well narrated.
You've been doing some pretty scary stories there, I'm afraid to admit it, but I was shaken up by the last two. But I can't stop myself from listening.
Ahhhhh, once again, the good Doctor with another perfect remedy for the mind and soul. The Demon in my head now, is a voluptuous, large breasted redhead, with emerald eyes. Is it strange that I love my Demon?...
🌿👀 Hey, impressive listen my dear friend. In agreement with you, re: everything Lovecraftian. Your presentation was as you wished.😸🌷 It's cute when you get excited about what you share, a good trait. Well done, Doctor, thank you. Cheers! 🍵*🍵
H. P. Lovecraft: "If anything happens in your story that doesn't have to do with the plot or suspense, it's a waste of words." Also H.P. Lovecraft: *Spends an entire page and a half describing the architecture, surrounding land, and mostly irrelevant history about just one house*
You're right it was very much in the style of Lovecraft. I imagine it's hard to write in that style as well, requiring a different mind set. You were excellent as always dearest Dr. See you soon
Ha! Great narration as always. Who would have thought the day would come when a Lovecraftian story would be followed by "I'm going to the wwe tomorrow. " That was unexpected. Hope you had a great time.
Thx for the Upload, dear doctor. I am listening also your older narrations. That's why I am a bit behind with the latest things. 🙈 Hmm, not quite demons but in my head there is a old gate, locked and with rusty chains. Someone on the other side is knocking profusely. Shall I open? 🤔🤨
All the best to my brother who wrote this...maybe if you read this it would be great but still all the best make ur writing full of sunbeams and may each words stumble like a drop of rain on every soul and quench the thirst of literature onto them. All obscure words u have are like an elixir of Lovecraft soul 💝💣💦
Hiya doc its jenny and the cats again with me in my recliner with just 3 of my 7 cats today so not so much of a cat blanket today. We have our favorite drinks and are ready to listen to the story 😸😸😸
Where is the second part of the navy story? Been waiting ages for it. It even won the last pol that you started. Still love you’re videos though. It makes my hour drive home from work a lot more pleasant.
Let's not ignore his forte, his descriptions of the indescribable, word pictures to paint the unimaginable, and prose to compliment the themes as perfectly as coffee with toast; a man whose legacy has been nourishing contemporary colossi of modern literature and popular culture.
Ok, I'm sorry but this style of writing makes me think back to highschool when we were given 5000 word essay assignments and you got extra credit for "fancy unusual words". Lol 🤣😂🤣😂. I couldn't even finish this one.
The title of this makes me suspect it'll both strangle me and crush my skull like 'Into The Maw'. My better half lives in Vermont so I'm already dripping with dread.
If your from Bratt, you might get this, but this sounds like a patient from the Retreat. Just saying. Lol. Good story, good narration. Fan from BRATTLEBORO VERMONT!!!
I have demons in my head, they tell me to eat raviolis at 3:00 AM
Mmm... ravioli. (drools) 🙂
*totinos
What an intense 3:00am challenge. You should make a video

Someone went to town on the thesaurus on this one
Yeah way to many spices in this soup for my taste.
Lovecraft was quite verbose in his writings. High intillect can be intimidating to some, and like a fine wine to others...

Yesss, loved this. Very well written.
Thanks doc
Starting strong with some H.P Lovecraft, and the story is strong. I love works like this.
Nightnator is great. He got a story about the secretive caves in Mexico.
Love the selection, these go perfect with my favorite drink. Cheers Doc🍷
Super well written. The author really captured Lovecraft's style well.
He really nailed the ending.
A treat indeed. Thank you and have a good day :)
Perfect timing before sleep, thank you! ;)

Wow what an incredibly well written story! And a wonderful narration as always
Agreed! Try the secretive caves of mexico
This suddenly reminds me of that song Gotta Get Away by The Offspring with its lyrics "There's demons in my head and it's more than I can take".

True; true Doctor..
The devil IS in the small details ,
As Lovecraft understood to a T.. !!-😉😍😘

Excellency once again - Dear Doctor!-😉👌👍
I have a few marbles in my head
I yes Lovecraft:
pretentious, extravagant, and precocious.
Highborn words, perched precariously on the side of a gilded veneer of Gothic expansion.
Precisely what i was going to say 🐸☕
And don't forget the abundant, extravagant and abysmal assault of armies of adjectives !
Let's not ignore his forte, his descriptions of the indescribable, word pictures to paint the unimaginable, and prose to compliment the themes as perfectly as coffee with toast; a man whose legacy has been nourishing contemporary colossi of modern literature and popular culture.

Demons in my head. Well I hope to sleep soon, so be them sleep demons plz
The author’s evident obsession with putting his extensive vocabulary on full display in this story took something away from this read, in my opinion.
Hence the Lovecraftian style at the top of the video.
The only thing it took away was your attention span.
Best way to end a long day :)
