Great video, I like how you put these short vids out about these lenses without all of that filler (slow mo vid of you making coffee and looking out as if you’re contemplating some deep mystery of the universe lmao). Got a sub 👍🏻
That's an awesome video, man! Love how you covered the aspects of the lens, and added your own personal pros/cons points. Really want to grab this lens now :)
Was waiting for this one haha, love your style of videos, it motivates me to make some of my own! 🙏 Tag suggestion: 'photography' works and 'street photography' better than fujifilm or fuji:)
I still have this lens and my xpro1. When I got them I ordered about 5 lenses (the 35mm from different places) and accidentally got three… luckily I was able to return the extras! 😸
HAHAHA I remember it like yesterday when I walked into the store and first handled the Xpro 1. Picked it up with the 35 1.4 in 2012 and have loved Fuji ever since
Thank you! It's one of my favorite photos and I have it framed on my wall in my living room. This was when I just got the X-Pro 1 and barely knew what I was doing with it lol. Shot it in jpeg only and really wish I had the RAW file for future use but I am happy I got it. Thank you again for the kind words
@@Lonnie.G So you should, it's excellent. Shame about the RAW but it's something to learn from, I have the X-T2 for dual cards JPEG/RAW. I came across your video as I'm considering selling my 35f2 or 35f1.4 to pair along with my 23f2. I like to prioritize punchy contrast and sharpness for black and white, so I need to do a little more side by side, but I think the 35f1.4 will probably stay ☺️
Awesome! I hate that this doesn't have WR but tbh, it has just something that is worth it. Thinking of buying f2 and this, and just put the f2 for rainy days. 35mm all the way. Also, I'm a super fan of the 50mm f2, but i noticed the image is very similar as a cropped up image of the 35mm at 1.4, so this kinda kills the need of that lens for me.
That is a very interesting point about the 50 f2. I make a comment about that lens on my 56mm review that I’ll be posting next. And I also mention how I feel about the focal length in relation to this 35mm as well. I’ll likely post the video next Friday. Maybe earlier though. Thanks for watching!
Thx great Review short /pragmatic & subjective , always good to know why a Real photographer love and use some lens . Your pictures look very interesting, where can I see more of works . Thx for sharing
Excellent video 👍 Always prefer to stay with fuji primes for their character, with xf14, xf23 f1.4, xf90...at my disposal, now I'm actually stuck up between xf35 1.4 vs 7art 35/0.95... my heart says fuji, but the creativity in me leans towards manual 7art 35/0.95... after I've seen images from 50mm noctilux Presuming you also use Lieca, please advise.. I wish fuji introduces faster manual lens for 35mm ❤️
I've only shot the Noctilux in a store and I did not enjoy trying to nail focus using an M body. Musch prefered the 50 cron I shot beside it. As for Fuji 35 1.4 vs the & artisans...the Fuji. I actually have the 7 Artisans and I just don't like the way it renders. I haven't quite figured out why yet but I am actually trying to sell it. I suspect that it's not a true .95 lens as the difference between it and the 35 1.4 was extremely minimal for me and I mich prefer images from the Fuji. Maybe I have a bad copy though
If you find yourself in adverse weather often I would be concerned. I never had any issues with regular dust or anything but I've photographed in the snow and opted to take the 35 f2 for its weather sealing for that reason. But that's a rare occasion for me personally
@@Lonnie.G I bought the f2 as I’m traveling to rainy Scotland soon. Love the small form factor of the Fujicrons. I live in sunny Las Vegas, so I might just get the 1.4 for shooting here in Vegas. Might be redundant, but it would be nice to have that extra bit of shallow depth of field. Thanks again, great video.
@@Lonnie.G yeah bro, make some more about your work ! It’s so refreshing to see someone post actual photos of people and intentional photography when talking about a lens vs shooting brick walls, figurines, and flowers.
Nice video. The 35mm F1.4 was my first Fuji lens & 7 years later still my favorite. Some say it has magic & I wouldn't argue with them.
Totally agree

Lmaoo thank you! More short ones on the way!

Thanks! Gad you enjoyed it! The lens is well worth the price on the used market -- one of the best values in Fuji in my opinion!
Fred van Vleet shoots with Fujifilm?! 😲
Lmaooo I’ve never heard that one before. That’s good!
The type of content I love 🫶🏿
Preciate that! 🙏🏽

@@Lonnie.G I did everything I could to make sure I got one as close to release as possible. I might have gone a little overboard. 🤷♂️😅🤣

Thank you so much -- that means a lot! I should. I need to do some videos focusing less on the gear and more about my approach maybe.
