Nice trailer! I got a similar sized one for the very reason you did - to lessen the trips in and out of the bush. I even welded a hitch onto the trailer, so I tow the trailer and splitter out at the same time. That way all the mess stays in the bush and I come out with the finished product...
Adam and (Doug), great videos! I’ve watched both of you guys from the start of each of your channels. It must be so much fun to be neighbors and friends and it shows in the videos. Keep em going…
100% on upgrading the hitch, also on adding a 3 point adapter to your tractor to tow it. In fact, I would even make sure your pickup can pull it......there's no reason to not be able to hook up to this trailer with the nearest, handiest vehicle for any given chore. Love the vids, keep them coming!
About 10 yrs ago I built a shorter, single axle version of that trailer. I basically copied designs of trailers like this one. I only have 3 acres and it has been perfect. With your much larger property, your trailer is a better design for your needs. You will really grow to love it.
I so enjoy & appreciate your videos, Adam!! You speed them up at just the right time & slow them down at just the right time - all to make them interesting & not boring!! That dump trailer is a very nice tool for you. It really held a lot of wood!! God bless you and your family!! ❤️ 🙏👍
It’s amazing watching your family and channel grow over the years. I remember finding hometown acres when you purchased the John Deere D140. Been hooked ever since.
The tandem trailers tow nicer than a single axle. My father just finished an “Axis” splitter for our friend, we should have some videos out soon on the build.
Handy, versatile, and really a must-have for what you do on your property. Appears to be robust and not a tin can. Ought to last a good long while. Nice score Adam. Looking forward to the completion of your roadside firewood stand. Hoping your mom dresses it up like she did your old one. Nice touch.
sexy trailer. I have a side by side too and i hate hauling firewood in the box. 1200-1500lbs of weight in the box is hard on it especially hauling in and out of the woods where it is rough to begin with. Hope the trailers serves you well!!
Thanks Adam. The 1st Mod I'd do is move the Hinge to the back and put a Hydraulic Cylinder on it. I have Hydraulics on My 4 Wheeler. LOL I have one of the Big Huge Green Polly Tub Trailers Bought in about 2008 Put Higher sides on it. Second Frame with the Hinge at the back and another Trailer hitch to pull the Log Splitter or another Wood Hauler trailer. The Cylinder I got will stand that tub almost vertical because of the Tail design . Will hold almost a Face cord of Wood cut to 24" Mike M.
Nice ATV trailer. With the weight carrying capacity of 3300# 🤔 I believe I would pile each row high and surcure each row with a ratchet strap. Nice video Adam 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome rig. I have a similar trailer that is single axle and the tub is made of injection molded plastic. I really like the tongue feature on that one because I have almost flipped mine when getting into some rough stuff with a load on. I also like the tandem walking axle because the single axle does get a little bouncy. I do exactly like you do. I carry all my saws in the back of my CFMOTO Uforce 600 (soon to be a Uforce 1000) and carry the wood in the trailer. I made some wood sides for mine so I can carry a little more without the rounds falling out. Dave
I've been hauling firewood with gorilla carts 1600lb cart using a 300cc 1992 honda fourtrax and that's about the limit of the machine. They claim its a 34cuft capacity (deeper but shorter) and weighs 325lbs, vs 420lbs and 24.75 for this unit. Should be able to haul this but it's definitely pushing the limits 👍
Adam, you can move your Axis return height adjustment back down, as long as you're done with that gnarly stuff at your buddies place. A split second on each (or most) split will add up.
Hey Adam, you need some type of wench like Mike Morgan has ( Outdoors with the Morgans ) to pull the tree down the slope. Your handling the logs twice to get them in your new trailer. A cable and wench should help a lot to make for less work. I think ! Jack stand, "Hey Doug" :-))
I also carry a rope so after I limb out something, if I don't want to leave the limbs, I can stack and use the rope to drag them off somewhere with the side by side. Other mod maybe is a place to hang the rear gate once removed. I picture another channel for the bottom and another set of latch hooks to latch the top onto. that way.. it is more than just a hook for storage it could be secure enough to haul out of the woods that way.
I noticed how careful you were when putting the wood in it. It doesn’t look very rugged, thin sides more for dirt and mulch stuff like that. Now would you buy one yourself if it wasn’t given to you and Doug? Hey a freebie is a freebie! Have a good day from Northwestern Vermont
I have the same trailer. There great. I carry my gear in the bed of the Polaris and tow the trailer. I cut the logs and pull them over to the trailer and buck them up at the trailer.
Why did you not put it together with the Dougmeister and tow it home?? Second best - help from the man himself. I could hear him making changes as ya’al assembled.
a 450 or 500 4 wheeler has more than enough power to pull it fully loaded, the thing is, quads don't handle the tongue weight very well and they have no braking authority. i pull a full sized utility trailer packed with as much wood as it will hold with a 450. As long as i don't go downhill it does its job without whimpering at all
I’m concerned about a load full of firewood pushing a four wheeler down a hill. We have a lot of hills here in Pennsylvania but if you live where it’s flat I’m sure you’d be fine
@@HometownAcres true but you can always load it light if using a four wheeler if needed.. It would be nice if there was a way to mount a small electric winch or a hand boat winch and lift the bed to winch in a big deer or hog when hunting
Hi there. Congratulations for this amazing trailer. Just a point of view. I don’t think will be a good idea to use it as a log tracker. It seems to be fragile for that. Very soft material. But as a firewood trailer it was nice. Thanks
When you were hauling the wood out of the woods, were you in high or low gear? I have 1000 like yours and not sure when to use H or L. Thanks. And yes, I got it because of your review. 😊
I tried to go down the flattest way possible. There was one spot that was uneven downhill I felt it push me for about a second but other than that good
Call Doug and tell him you want to connect the log lift hauler to that wagon! THEN you can cut down a tree cut off the limbs and haul EVERYTHING at one time!! Very pricey wagon though.
Without the trailer you would have to dump the bucked wood on the ground -- then pick up each piece to split it. With it, you have better body mechanics.
I had been looking at them for awhile, would love to have one but to expensive for how much I’d use it. I built my own trailer that a ibc tote sits on.
I would have guessed 1/3 of a cord. I can carry that much on my tractor with carryall and loader. I think you’d be hard pressed to do more than 1/2 cord in an F150. I have an F150 with 8’ bed and can do about a half cord seasoned. Green, forget it. 1/3 cord or so for safe payload, especially if it’s oak.
What's the pocket on the front left for? One modification I see would be to run a bar down either side, just below where it starts to angle in so you can secure a tarp over it.
I’d love to hear an in depth review on the cf Moto side by side. Maybe you made one… I’m looking at purchasing one and just curious how it stacks up against Polaris
If it is Finnish it will be good. You will never have to contend with the sort of weather they consider normal. If it is not build well, it will not survive in Finland.
great trailer, but doug really upstaged you on his, should have bought the same one, i did see the price though, holy crap! if i understand you got it for free?

I totally agree, Jonheath!! 👍

Having a trailer like this is a game changer.

Thanks for the support Ryan
i was thinking the same thing. been pretty amazing journey. love this trailer
Awesome vid and trailer, Adam. Slick little rig. That’ll speed up the process and save wear and tear just as you said. Catch you guys soon -DRL
It's nice to see made in Finland. Looks well built. Thank you for sharing this video 👍
Adam, I love the trailer. The size, weight capacity, the articulating axles... Awesome tool!
The tandem trailers tow nicer than a single axle. My father just finished an “Axis” splitter for our friend, we should have some videos out soon on the build.
Love a good project with neighbor Doug! These trailers look slick, ol son!
Hello Adam, you and Doug and Joe are in Bob’s Eye for sure, nice Trailer, Take Care 🪵🚜👍🏼🇺🇸
The smaller version with the single axle is going to be my next purchase!! Very nice unit to fit my needs.

That project is going to be on hold for another week or 2. We have a much bigger project taking precedent that will be announced in another video or 2
The new trailer looks awesome!
Very nice trailer, looks like quality built, I love the flag on your tractor's pallet forks.
Nice trailer,Can’t wait to see what the next adventure will be as the semi with the lowboy sits in the back ground
Will be announced shortly.
Awesome video Adam, can’t wait to see what else you do with the trailer!
Thanks Bob
Looks like a very well designed and functional trailer..
I love your toys. Well earned and deserved.
Be safe burning that pine Brother. 😃 Nice Video and trailer right there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That trailer looks really solid. I think the Fins make some quality equipment. Good choice
I have the range road single axle version with extended sides , it’s served me very well .

He has a winch on the front of the side x side. Pulling the tree down the slope will get dirt in the bark and dull the chain saw.
@@mikewatson4644 Thank you, love to learn new things :-))
Nice! I think that'll get a TON of use!
It's funny how you try so hard not to put a scratch on a trailer that is going to take a beating right after.
Nice trailer.
Hi Adam, great video, as always. Luckily you did not hit the side-by-side throwing those logs downhill :)

Really a nice trailer, I was thinking about a 3rd of a cord.
Awesome video. Jack mod for that will definitely be easy. I did a similar mod for my log splitter works awesome.
ADAM,. Nice addition, soon, a bigger storage shed?! Lol
Very nice Adam!
Sweet rig!!!!
With some O.E.C. rear stabilizers on the rear .
You could load or unload without being hitched to a vehicle.
Why did you not put it together with the Dougmeister and tow it home?? Second best - help from the man himself. I could hear him making changes as ya’al assembled.
great review thank you
Nice trailer for you
If it was me, tossing logs down the hill, I would have hit the rig, at least once.
Nice review!
I looked at those but got the one from Rural King with the hydraulic dump so I could use it with my tractor or SxS.

Am I wrong, but I don't remember Doug's Trailer wheels having Valve Stem Savers included...🤔
Thanks for this video Adam, and Happy "EARTH DAY"!
That is correct. His does not
Adding a different jack would help quite a bit.
If only you knew someone that could fabricate something like that??
LOL
Man, you should get a snatch block and cable. Use the side by side to drag the logs closer before you cut it up..
Yeah that would have been nice
@@HometownAcres would hate to see a piece of wood get away from you and tumble into expensive equipment and tires
Nice cool video.
Hi there. Congratulations for this amazing trailer. Just a point of view. I don’t think will be a good idea to use it as a log tracker. It seems to be fragile for that. Very soft material. But as a firewood trailer it was nice. Thanks
at 1:42 I saw that table with all the tools and parts laid out, I bet that was Doug's doing.
It absolutely was haha
Wouldn't mind having one of them that's a nice
When you were hauling the wood out of the woods, were you in high or low gear? I have 1000 like yours and not sure when to use H or L. Thanks. And yes, I got it because of your review. 😊
How did the SxS handle downhill slopes with a load in the trailer? Did the trailer try and push it around?
I tried to go down the flattest way possible. There was one spot that was uneven downhill I felt it push me for about a second but other than that good
Looking good I would love to know more on the 2 gas lift pistons and if they help with lifting and dumping
Yes they do

Off to One Eyed Customs for a new style jack!

I’m looking at purchasing one and just curious how it stacks up against Polaris
Awesome video! How long did it take you to cut and stack the wood into the ibc tote?
Maybe 2 hours or so to get it from in the woods to split in the IBC tote
@@HometownAcres how long to just split the wood 30 around 30 minutes?
Did you get the idea from Courtney at Good Works Tractors? I LIKE those a lot, but to me, they're very cost prohibitive.
