I really wanted Georgia, Michigan, Cincinnati, and Oklahoma St to win, mainly because that was the only way we wouldn't get two SEC teams in the playoff. Georgia laid an egg, and the Pokes lost. The Committee wanted Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and either Oregon/Oklahoma St. They didn't want Cincinnati in at all, but they were backed into a corner when Georgia and Oklahoma St lost their conference championship games.
Go Wolverines and take the lions and the pistons and the Tigers with you. Oh yeah take governor Gretchen with you as well
As a Michigan fan I give Hutch a lot of credit. But I throwing this out there Haskins had a hell of a season over 1100 yards and 20 touchdowns. Both were dominating this year. Go Blue!
And the best part? The future looks bright for the program.

Same here, I want them to win. Rich should not discount what Sparty did in the regular season though, a great performance against UM -- and of course Pitt was never ranked commensurate with their ability.

If Cincinnati wins its all about how this is an Alabama off year. If Cincinnati loses then it’s about how the G5 doesn’t belong.
Although seeing as I wouldn’t put this Cincinnati in even the Top 7 of best G5 teams, it’s not really fair to say that no G5 teams should make it if Cincinnati loses.
Instead it would have been a lot more fascinating to see Auburn vs Boise State in 2010.
If that game ever really happened I don’t think the SEC would be so quick to think so little of the G5.....

I'm from the UK and the college team I root for is Auburn because a friend went there, but happy for Michigan fans this season, especially after so many supposed experts wrote them off after the Michigan State game. Rooting for them in the playoffs.
I am sorry Auburn did not defeat Alabama, *SO* close! So close.
MSU game was BS. UM outscored them, just has points improperly withdrawn.
I think 1997 was the greatest fall of your football life.... although this still has a chance to outdo it by mid-winter.
After 17 years of no B1G 10 titles, this one is even more special. And we won the title in the winter
'97 was a split decision that was decided by the nonsensical popularity contest of AP polls. Even the most hardened of Michigan fans knows they were heavily disadvantaged had they played a veteran Nebraska team which had won 2 of the last 3 championships. The same one which completely dismantled and obliterated Payton Manning in their bowl matchup.

Not sayin' its gonna happen, but Michigan could finish the season not only with wins over OSU and Iowa to take the conference, but also with wins over Georgia AND Alabama to take the natty.
That would exercise all demons from there last 20 years.
Highly doubt they survive the playoffs against Georgia and Saban. It will be a tall task to beat both of those teams.
That would mean they beat the #1, 2 & 3 teams in the country 3 of the last 4 games of rhe year with the 4th being against a top 15 opponent. That's a pretty damn strong all time resume if it happens.

Rich. Lets not forget the 70's 80's and 90's when we bested the Buckeyes every decade. Not to mention 8-2-1 against John Cooper in the 90's. We won a National Title in 97. Had a Heisman trophy winner in 92 and 97. But only 4 wins this century vs the Bucky's is lousy. So celebrate Rich...and Go Blue!!!

To get technical, what Cincinnati should really try to be like is 2010 MWC TCU vs Wisconsin in the 2011 Rose Bowl.
Both TCU and Cincinnati are defensive minded teams, although TCU was a lot better.
This is where it’s difficult to really appreciate Cincinnati, because by comparison 10 TCU allowed about 9 less points per game, played twice as many Top 25 teams, and absolutely crushed their competition. Like UC at #5 ND by 11 is great, but looks a lot worse next to 2010 MWC TCU at #6 Utah 47-7....
TCUs defense was legit. They held #4 Wisconsin to their least points scored al season and Wisconsin ranked #6 in total offense averaging over 40+ per game - TCU held them to 19.
Unfortunately Cincinnati doesn’t really have the same structure. TCU had an incredible line and DBs, whereas Cincinnati is more situated with their DBs and Coverage.

Just saw this video. As a UGA fan, thank you for insulting our scheduling and running us down like that. Yes, our out of conference schedule was laughable. But honestly, Michigan wasn't as good as Kentucky, and was only slightly better than Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida. I would liken Michigan to Auburn. Watching this makes going back and watching the game replay and your after-the-Orange-Bowl-comments that much sweeter. I think I'll do that now.

My take is Nick Saban used his ":we don't get any respect" card. You can only use it once. I think they revert back to they played all season which was mediocre. Alabama played its best game of the year. Three weeks from now they come back to earth and revert to the same team you so all year. The same for Georgia.
