- Welcome to my RUclips channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content. In today's video I get my chassis back from powder coating in record time. I assemble the chassis from a bare frame into a complete chassis that is ready for the body. I used stock C6 Z06 wheels at all 4 corners and they all fit without rubbing. The stock C2 gas tank fits like a glove and I made my own fuel line. I used stock C7 Z51 GM brake parts as well. I will make a video talking about what parts you need to make this complete conversion in the future. Stay tuned because the body is going on next week as well as the front clip.
I just finished restoring a 1963 Corvette Split Window and I am starting another split window build but this time its a race car build. I will be making videos every Friday. I will be making videos on my 1963 Corvette Split Window, my dad's 1965 Corvette, my race car split window build, my friends 1960 Corvette, and other projects that I find along the way. Let me know what you think about the video. Enjoy!!
If you are interested in an official MYM hat or if you have any questions please send me an email to midyearmitch@gmail.com.

Love watching you bring this classic back to life!
Keep up the good work.
Hope to meet you at Carlisle.
Thanks for watching! I’ll be there! I look forward to meeting you guys as well!
You sure do a great job building those beauties back up. Thank You so much for sharing and letting us watch over your shoulder. All the best, Dennis
Thanks for watching Dennis! I think it’s great that so many people tune in each week.
Mid year Maddy should get a speaking role. I bet she will help the number of subscribers. Great work on the car too.
I like the RUclips handle Rick! Thanks for watching! Maybe one day she will get her own segment!
Hey there Mitch,
Glad you had some help in the shop there!
Those tires are beasts. The car is going to have an amazing stance.
It seems like everything threw together pretty easily .. just the way you drew it up 🙂
I hope it all goes as well for the body too.
Take care,
Dan
Hey Dan! I definitely needed some help. I have a long way to go and a short time to get there. I’m excited about the stance! It has that bulldog look. So far everything is falling together. The hardest part of the build besides the floor is the steering system.
Another phenomenal video! Mid-Year Maddy is a great addition. I did a frame off restoration on my 1969 427 many years ago and I can appreciate all the work that you’re doing.
I did a body off on my 60 , then , from 84 to 88 and finished . I was young then .
Oh yeah they are a ton of work! Oh man that a sweet car! So far the Restomod route is actually easier than a restoration.
What color is your 60? Those are great cars.
It was red with red interior and white top and white coves .I sold it to a guy who bought it for his wife . He is also a Fearri owner .@@MidYearMitch
Looking good and that was nice that you had another set of hands to help out.😃
Thanks! It’s nice to have help in the garage!
Powder coat came out great. You made some good progress.
Thanks I appreciate it! It’s a serious piece of machinery.
Going to be wicked
Are you going to make it to SEMA?
Thanks I appreciate it! No I won’t be. I’ve never made it out there. Someday I will probably.
It's nice you have the means and ability to do everything top quality. Well done. I sure hope all the patina look comes through as it should. Any ideas to get the wheels to have a patina look? Chrome looking wheels...no match.
Thanks I appreciate it! I’m trying to do this build the best that I can. I want to have 1 all out build. Overkill haha. I think the patina will come out cool. I have a lot of ideas. It will be fun. I’m going to leave the wheels shiny shiny. I like that look haha.
I know your busy but hope you can answer my question, do you know when, year or month did the floor under the seats change from deep to not so deep on the 1963 corvette. Thank you
I’ll have to look in my NCRS book. But I’m pretty sure about half of the 63 vettes had the deep floor. So roughly 12kish had that. But don’t quote me. I don’t have that book in front of me right now.
very nice, all those new parts, wow , is it gonna have air conditioning?
I have a lot more new parts coming too! I received a huge shipment last week. It will have AC in its next phase. The first phase is to get it on the road and enjoy it. Phase 2 will include the interior and paint.
I dig your channel and skills.
Keep up the good work. I’ll try to find you at Carlisle.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. We will be at K62 by the quanta gas tank trailer.
This looks like another great build, love the wheels. Please upload first ride.
Thanks Ulysses! I think the wheels help make the car. I definitely will!
Welcome Maddy. Mitch that was quite a list and you got it done. This car is gonna be hard for you to let go of. It looks real good. Can't wait till you light it up. Looks like the previous owner of the tires made good use of them. I'd like to know the weight of the car when it's complete. I wonder how well it would compete against a Mongoose Grand Sport? Have a good week and stay safe.
Who is Maddy ?
@bobdavis3389 I really have no clue, bet she will know more about the C2s than most of us.
Mid year Maddy haha
She’s my fiancé
Thanks Jim! That was a lot of work but it’s coming together. It’s getting close to “ITS ALIVE” time. The previous owner had multiple sets of wheels and tires for his car so he definitely got his use out of them. I think this car would handle better than a mongoose gs but the gs is so much lighter. So it’s hard to say who would win.
be awsome to see you build your girlfriend or wife her dream car toghther
As of now she’s too afraid of them haha. I don’t think she wants to drive one. But one day I will build her one or I’ll build “her” one lol
Hey Mitch , who's the pretty helper ??
Hey Bob that’s my now fiancé Maddy. Aka Mid Year Maddy lol.
just subscribed. Nice work
Thanks for subscribing!
Looks awesome mitch!!
Thanks dude!

Nice thanks for watching!
Was a lot of work. It looks great!
Thanks John!
Hells yes brotha. I'm digging this. Mines on hold. Found out I have cancer taking my lung out with stage 3 COPD. Hope to see you drive it soon
Good luck with that Jonathan .
@@bobdavis3389 ty Bob hope I go home
Oh man I’m sorry to hear that. Best of luck I’ll keep you in our prayers. I will start it next week if everything goes to plan.
@@johnathanharris8686 I do too Jonathan . They've come a long way in stopping cancer .
Sweet
Thanks I appreciate it!
