I LOVE the tenderness between Jesus and Mary in The Chosen; the authentic love that exists between a mother and son. I love how Jesus looks out for her when He is arrested and how Mary takes care of Him when He is physically spent from a long day of healing. I love how she runs to help Him when he comes back, obviously exhausted, while His followers just sit there, watching, more than likely, feeling ashamed that they were more focused on themselves. Vanessa's reaction & response when she sees her son, struggling to even walk to His tent is ABSOLUTELY the heart of a mother - so genuine, caring & loving. Such an amazing show and cast!!

I couldn't believe Vanessa is so young playing Mother Mary! I've never considered her relationship with Jesus in this warm, human way and I love watching her.

Wow! Good interview. I would have loved to hear how Vanessa and Jonathan formed that mother son relationship from her perspective. The fact that she had a baby while the show was going on wow I wonder how they worked around that and her thoughts. Good job. Love The Chosen!!
