I bought a brand new 1972 Norton Commando with a combat engine in it for $ 1960.00 dollars, with a front disc brake, for an extra $160. Still have some of the vintage adds! Zero to 60 mph in 4 secs. 65 hp , dry wieght 385 lbs. Bike handled extremely well. Also had a 1967 Atlas with featherbed frame that I thought even handled better! I was 21 yrs. old!
Hi Barry. We have the same age. I was also 21 years old in 1972 Ha!! I am very happy that it brings you good memories. Thanks for your comment. Best wishes Loscar
What a fantastic choice of music!!!!! Great video. The timing of the con rod dropping and pinging went perfectly with the song. Lol. I'm a triumph guy but it looks like Norton makes some superior parts. Sounds great, awesome reaction.
In the 70s(1972) my biker mates 4had nortons 750 s 4had xs650 xs2s 5years later only 1 norton was fit for the road the yamaha 3 still on the road 2with new owners my xs took me all over europe untill i bluw it up in 1979 😢😢120 thousend miles aprox nortons are ok but you have to maintain oil change 2000 miles defently a micanics bike to day with modern matierial a better bike and they do look good life long biker 76 years young 😊😊😊😊
Gracias Walter. La verdad, que soy un tipo muy apañado por que me lo hago todo. La restauración, las fotos, monto los videos etc.🤭 Me alegra que te guste. Saludos. Loscar✌
I am a huge fan of your youtube channel! The way you approach the restaurations of motorcycles inspires me. But I have fear to disassemble my indian 741..also to a lack of mechanical experience on working on motorcycles..and the missing of the correct tools for the job..
Hi Loscar, I own a 750 Commando Roadster since 1977, just finished the restoration here in Italy. I admire and thank you for the video of your job, I wish I had seen it before! May I ask you how many hours did it take you to complete the job? Was it difficult to find the parts? Thank you and congratulations!
Mis respeto para su persona siempre veo sus videos y me gustan mucho me gustaria tener sus conocimientos ya q me gustan las motocicletas mas las antiguas asi como las q restauras de donde eres me gustaria q me enceñaras ese arte
hai loscar..please share your link, how to know timing ignition ..I dont know how to determine first stroke of cyliner (I got a commando 750 couple months ago) trims for your tutorial....

Did you explain how to check and true the frame -no -how to check and true the yokes -no .Do you know how?Having parts powder coated does not include truing them! Sundquist Norton you tube.
You deserve a medal, Sir, for rescuing this bike🕊

Had a 73 Commando identical to what you describe. Awesome bike.
So glad to see it got the twin Amals it deserves
That's a nifty trick getting water in the oil on an air-cooled bike.
Beautiful work though.
Your attention to detail is spectacular. Amazing work & standards.

Norton quality was far superior to both Triumph and BSA. I owned a 750 JPS Commando and an 850 Interstate - both were superb bikes.
Great video. I would have liked if the diashow would have been a bit slower. I watched it with 0,5x speed.
Amazing that you can still get parts! I had a Commando the the needed Whitworth wrenches. 19 inch rear tires can be a challenge to find.
Another great build 👍looks great
Thanks Craig.
Great stuff - thank you for doing!
A pleasure Bill.Thank you very much for watching my videos.
Best regards. Loscar👍

How do you make the head looking nice? Did you sandblasted and then clear coated?
Cleaning is done only with a stream of glass pearls.I never put clear coatings and especially on hot parts. Thanks for watching my videos. Loscar
@@LoscarMotorcycles can you please put up a link of it?
you are a talented man.. Please build me one :)
Ha ha ha !! Thank you. I only do my bikes.

Solid state ignition?
At 8:20 you show the timing cover going on.
Mine has a spring and ball that go on the end of the oil pump feed.
