the first descendant frost walker guide for hard mode seems to always be wrong whichever one I watch / read. The mechanics for frost walker the first descendant are horrific, and really need to be fixed / changed to make it more accessible.

I'm stuck at this fight simply because the leg hit boxes are WAY too small. I'm on pc with pretty decent aim but I still get immune at time and other people may not have the aim or be on console. It is the only thing keeping me from easily killing it before first mechanic. Hit boxes need to be increased 2-3 times at a minimum.
If you know the mechanics the boss isn't really that infuriating but I don't know where the game tells you them so that's the big problem

Frost walker is the worst boss to do with randoms imo, even if I am one of the ultimate lepics that go in to help randoms complete it
Weirdly, I had the toughest time on Frost Walker because “cracked” Lepics would use their ult before we got a weak point grabbed/broken and he’d keep going immune before we could get the orbs
Im a new player and i really like Valby not just because she’s a girl, but i like all water based powered characters and her being a water goddess makes me so happy. She’s actually the reason why i wanted to play The First Descendant even tho i dont have my own pc. I only play in my cousins pc. I hope i get picked☺️🫶.
I was done with the bosses at this fight. I’ve tried so many time that I’m just done. I play the other stuff and don’t even touch the colossus fights anymore. I’d rather do reactors for my stuff.
My experience has been the worst of all I think, the second I jump in, we fight the boss for a little bit and half the team leaves, sometimes all of them. What kind cowards am I being matched up with man?
They are all just watching the damage thresholds being hit and trying to save time. When it is a timed fight this is inevitable when there isn't a penalty for leaving.
However numerous times I've had someone leave and 3 manned with the boys. So do not be discouraged!
Because there's nothing worse than seeing a level 10 load in to the fight. Backout
they probably leave because the boss get enraged before getting its weak points destroyed and dropping enough flame before 7m30s

@mohdshahariar5833 in my experience it's like 1 out if every 20.
to add a little more info, you need to collect 6 flames. Flames 1 through 5 add a permanent buff icon and a stack to it. Once you get the 6th buff, the timer starts to count down, and you need to continue to get flames to keep the buff up. Getting hit by the boss loses a stack. Getting 5 stacks and then waiting until approximately the seven and a half minute marker I've found works the best. The buff generates a glowing circle that lets you unfreeze anyone that was frozen by the mechanic, or protect others immediately who are close.

The flames are generated by breaking the parts the helmet on top of the FW drops 4/5 and the rest gives flames as well at 7: 30 1 person Needs to start grabbing flames at 7: 20 the boss does the wipe mechanic if your not next to your teammate that has the 6 flames circle he can run to you to save your life the problem with this game is they need to TELL YOU THIS INFORMATION TAKE THE LORE OUT AND GIVE US USEFUL INFORMATION

I had the same feeling about the hanged man, I farmed and got new guns and new modules and had fun with that and eventually beat him. It's a matter of practice, don't give up descendant.
Me and my friends lost to hanged man and overfarmed for him and when we went back in with a game plan we wrecked him before his mechanics. We laughed and waltz into hard mode bosses to get wiped lol.
Hanged man is fair and balanced compared to this shit. at least with hanged man you can reliable stop the mechanic if at least 1 player knows what they are doing and that gives the rest time to figure it out.
The wipe phase is at around 7:30. Until then one has to destroy the 3 small domes on the walkers head. Each one should drop 4 flames. The small adds MIGHT drop one as well.
It is best to chose one runner at the beginning. At 8:30 ONE gathers 6 flames to get a buff which prevents the stun. But beware, going too close to the boss or getting hit by a frost attack reduces the flames one carries, unless you have the buff already. IF you have the buff, a new flame should reset the buff timer.
Then every one should be close, but not too close to him/her, since the boss could still attack and hurt the entie party.If the boss frosts, the one with the buff runs to each member and defrost him/her.
The best so far to destroy the domes is a Gley with a good sniper and well infinite ammo. Stand on a tall piller to hit those easy. That Gley could also destroy the reactors in the invulphase.
My favorite is Gley, because of her playstyle and looks. I prefer characters that look badass and professional rather than those showing 75% skin and leaving nothing to the imagination.
I recently bought Ultimate Gley, because I had already spent about 200 hours free to play and figured I was enjoying the experience enough to "buy the game", in a manner of speaking. Thanks for the upload (the triple Lepic part was hilarious btw)! :)
Frost walker used to be a pain in the a** for me. Now, I load in with my Ultimate Lepic, usually with some Gley or Lepic (random people) and we don't even have to take care f the wipe. He goes kaboom.
The new One gluttony Is even worst,the worst thing Is the people that keep quitting up the beginning of the Battle in the last trhee bosses
I have 7 days of Grinding for Ult Viessa. I am still 0 out of 4 parts of making her.
The Grind is a Pain in this game. Some people are Lucky while others like me Suffer.

It took me 70 patterns to get a single energy activator blueprint before when i wanted it. When i was grinding ultimate valby with 12 patterns i got her part with 3% and an energy activator blueprint from another pattern same boss. So some times we get unlucky when we want something but lucky when we dont expect it. I wish you good luck and the RNG force to be with you

Easiest fix without even need to add things, each player needs 1 orb at wipe to live. Prob would take an hour to re-code the fight and buffs.
I like Gley, she got such a Unique Kit and it makes so much fun melting bosses with her :D
Yeah, I haven't been able to do the unique mechanics of frost walker or molten fortress. My bros Lepics aren't as strong as that Lepic trio, but we still get it done by using the universal mechanic of grappling yellow weak points to Lepic nuke it dead before frosty wipe or molten fortress enrages.
Honestly, if Frost Walker is moving around too much your team is doing the Fight Wrong.
Whoever the Frost walker is looking at HE/SHE is not Supposed to move. just get behind a Wall and stay there till he switches targets.
only problem with that boss is that people don't know what to do...
Even knowing what to do destroying those tiny weak points on top of its body feels like you need aim bot like skills. Especially because the boss destroys the high ground needed to even see the targets
@none_o_ur_bidnis once you're weapons are strong enough it's easy to remove his weak points. I'm so bad at sniping and I can do it. Just have to have smart teamates
I think most people do know.
They just have bad weapons for the weakpoint on its head, and this boss requires good aiming for the enrage part. Also some have close to zero awareness when it's time to group on the player that have the 6 flames

I agree with your points it is spot on. The design is made to make you buy things for IRL money, and that is why it can never be as good as a game with depth and soul in it. Where money where a thing but not the 1.priority.
I play the game for free and I like the design. I don't think a single thing in this game is too grindy.

Me and my brothers did countless attemps last night. We kept getting matched with people who expected us to carry them.
Or the random chance we got someone who did too much DPS but didnt shoot weakspots, so the boss was always invulnerable, then they would go down. Annoying. Going to try again tonight.
I love playing as Valby. Skating and farming is too smooth and fun. I'd love to win the ultimate version of her! 😄

This feeling is how I feel about Hanging Man. The whole change of being mostly able to solo or do with randos up to that point only to then need a full group with coms to possibly clear it. My Valby is salty.
Mine is Sharen. She's a stealth assassin and the BSMR augment makes her a good DPS (also a debuffer).
I dont really have a fav descendant but i find myself playing valby alot ngl 🦔
Looks complex because no one seems to have a defensive char or a healer. Yujin can revive in 1 second for example, or Ajax can block the projectiles. That or you need massive DPS.
I think the devs are trying to push balanced parties instead of pure dps for these fights. There are exceptions though like Lepic
Edit: I 100% agree with your ending point though. Overall it's not a good mechanic since the game doesn't encourage all-around parties until these final bosses.
Defensive and support based descendants won't stop the one hit KO move.
Ajax is the best to pick the flames and keep everyone alive in the heat aoe + his bubble
But he isn't really needed.
If 2 people go down and you res them normally, or with yujin. It doesn't matter because his one hit KO will kill you all if you have 1 life left, or all of them

If you're talking only about the one shot, I also hate OHKO mechanics. I hate them almost as much as invincibility phases.
You dont need to be a high level to be powerful. You could complete a new catalyst and run high-level mods at level 1.
While that's true, all your stats are reset to a level 1 version. Your HP, MP, defense and shields are level 1. That does make things more difficult. High level mods or not.
Favorite Descendant is Bunny. What devs should do is have a simulation running in the laboratory. This would have people learning the mechanics. Also, since many players are just running the mission without changing their mods to be able to beat the boss, there should be an automatic recommended mod update using what you have in your inventory.
Stuck on same boss. Started with bunny but just got an ultimate lepic.

As an ultimate lepic character player i must say that these moments are our best moments when we randomly get matched up together 🤣. I took me almost 200 hours to max out my Ultimate Lepic so its worth it to see the results of hard work hahaha
I fully agree with you their boss design is a joke to me. All their mechanism is ball oriented, through the boss fight I didn't feel challenge, I only feel torture and frustration like you. Based on the devs career path, I didn't surprise at all one of them is from Pearl Abyss (Black desert) and they don't have any experience making a FPS game. If they keep listening to the feedback from community, I am still have enough amount of confidence they can make this game better and better.
Still massively in love with Luna, her abilities are so cool and even changing it to deal damage is amazing.
I have experienced the best and worst times fighting frost walker. But to have finally beaten the thing with a pug group with no communication and using the mechanics... Its just humiliating seeing that twerp kill it in seconds with his fire balls. Gives me mixed emotions when I see some of them fail it. They fire off slowly and sometimes the crab is doing its clumsy little trot just fast enough away that none of the fire balls hit. Kinda makes you laugh and cry a little knowing you will be queing again and again.
Top 3 pieces of frost walker drop the most embers to pick up, maximize weak point damage and grapple times to minimize frenzy buildup, make sure the runner has 5/6 embers before 7:40 left on timer and then grab the last one and do your normal staggers and kill

As an Ultimate Lepic user mainly for bossing, most users just try to one phase Frost Walker when they dont have any other Lepics in the group. Without them you need to use the Ultimate strategically..if not then youll have a long cooldown with an immune boss and running around because all bossing Lepics definitely are glass cannons.
If it's just me rocking lepic I usually do a ult and then take a death to bring back my ult ready to finish off after the immune phase.
@TURNlP That's what I do as well especially with Molten Fortress since its pretty easy to time when to die and then come back and be able to blast him after he exits immune phase.
For Frost Walker it's kinda tough because I'm not so sure when his freeze attack happens so I can't time when to die and then come back to do my 2nd rotation on him.
The issue is if you don’t form a group ahead of time every single person you random que with has no idea how to do the fight…. How anyone expects to kill a boss without learning the mechanics first is mind blowing….
I’m still trying to get ult gley. I need a good dps for this boss. Honestly I got carried on this as Ajax. They burnt it down before the wipe mechanic. I’m on console also.
Huge tip is use your Ecive to scan any boss you do, it will show you all its weakpoints to shoot. For Frost Walker the top of his head has little knots that show up when you scan. Those knots drop 4-5 flames each when you destroy them, so just destroy 2 of them and you have enough flames to get through 2 fazes. The parts on his knees when he is in his immune faze dont drop the flames its the small dots on its knees when he is not immune that drop a flame.
Everything you just said is why the whole boss fight is bullshit lol

Dude hip fire is your best friend in this game. I hip fire my sniper rifle. The aim assist is amazing for controllers.
I just researched ult Bunny after getting drops for her randomly. Haven't bought any ults yet, currently farming ult Valby. And as far as frostwalker goes, still haven't attempted it yet cuz I've been a bit intimidated by it since I'm on console.

every time ive tried to fight this, everyone enrages him between 4-10 seconds, then they cant shoot his knee tubes off within 2m 30 then everyone is dead, cos no one managed to break a single piece of armour
I watched the video, and you are 100% correct. I am on hard Pyro right now, with no Ult Decendants. I know you can farm them, but the % and rng is so rediculous, it's really not worth it., by the time you grind for the stuff, your burned out on the game because there honestly isn't a lot of content. The only real content, is grinding decendants, researching them, and then leveling them for hours on end, only to start grinding the next one.

Enzo, being able to supply your mates with ammo, crit chance and weakpoint dmg is just amazing
If you are having trouble aiming on a controller use the right stick to get in range and the left to make small adjustments. It's not a miracle tip but it does improve accuracy by alot.

What I Hate about the bosses is I go in Prepared. My gun got good damage and I got a good team but the gun does no damage. They got to rebalance the bosses. Awesome video. Keep up the good work. Have a wonderful day Easynow.
I think the biggest thing they should of done is made it so you didn't need to fill with Randoms, maybe allow us to que with 2 people. But the biggest help I heard on GameSager's video was shoot out all his top weak points at the start to ensure you got enough flames and talk to the group to setup who is the runner. If they mess it up leave, but like Obstructor and Hanged Man those fights stalled me out for a few days, til I got lucky with a group. I farmed out Ultimate Lepic just to do this fight, cause the mechanics with randoms are so bad
I've been stuck at frost walker for a bit! Everyone I get matched with people that have no clue.
Me and my duo found out the hard way, he'd type in the chat that he was running to collect the flames where as i'd be calling out where they are, the mobs that the boss spawns also drop the flames along with that the crown on top of its head if you destroy it it'll drop up to like 4 flames, with all of that when you destroy its other weak points it also drops flames. The runner cant get hit if they collect them early - hence I was always trying to get the boss to agro on me. Hope this info can help the people still struggling cuz it took me an my duo half a day to beat this boss.
Question, does “nimble fingers (skill cooldown -25.6%) and Maximize skill (skill cooldown +43%) not work together?
Ultimate Lepic is probably gonna end up being my favorite. I just finished researching him last night (no, I did not buy him). His damage potential is absolutely sick, especially with his 4th ability. I'm already planning on fully optimizing him.
I pugged this boss. The Crit spots Generated them. Designate 1 person to pick them up specifically someobe fast. Once shield is around flame holder everyobe get inside bubble. Then wait for 1 shot mechanic. Then kill. CRIT SPOTS GENERATE FLAMES. 1 PERSON GET FLAMES
The fire orbs drop as you destroy his weak points(shoulder plates and the discs on his top). 1 person grabs 6 of them before the 7:30 and 4:30 mark, avoid getting hit by the boss attacks to not lose the buff, group gathers on that person, gg win.
This boss has no middle ground. Or you do the mechanics or absolutely nuke him as the Lepicks did.
I just used gley with vestigial organ and use the high ground to blast the top to break as many parts so when 7:30 comes we got more than enough to get the flame circle, also the mini crabs sometimes drop the flames so it's also a good choice to kill those.
As someone who used to buy warframe accessory packs in warframe quite a bit, can't say I'll ever justify spending 70-100 dollars on any of the ult descendants.
I spent about 2 days of straight playtime farming ult bunny, an activator and catys, and she's cooking right now, with the activator and I have 5 catys ready to go on her, and I saved a couple mill of kuiper for any necessary mod leveling.
Was it painful in the moment?? Yah, but I'm happy to have saved that money, and the only thing I'm missing out on is the skin which I can't say I'm too miffed about. Pretty happy with it.

200+hrs and still stuck on frosty, honesty stopped trying, especially when people either consistently went down or just left mid mission because "no lepic" or "no kyle pre-patch"
I don’t understand why ppl don’t use mics when in a void intercept. You can change your setting in Esc menu (hold start on console) from Party to Squad to talk to tell ppl what to do…
So the bosses weak points drop the embers. DO NOT pick up embers while having the slow debuff, (ice on legs) the charged blast, lazers and frostbite rockets give this debuff. (Also being around the boss will "freeze you".)
Immediately spawing in, call out runner so no one is picking up embers willynilly. Aim your weapon and hit weak points to spawn flams and destroy the legs. If you need an extra embers in emergencies the rollie pollies have a CHANCE of droping a ember.
The fight is fine as is, people need to know how the boss works and can be cleared with any character no problem. I play Viessa and my 1st ability insta destroys the legs on enrage if i aim it right. Using kyle or ajax to protect flame runners so they dont get freeze and -1 to ember score. Valby (supply moisture) or Gley to hit hard on weak points to get embers. The game isn't super difficult, you get bad teammates or get good teammates. Learn the mechanics and follow through.
I completely agree. Frost walker is complete garbage as a boss. They removed the break the orbs in order mechanic from regular bosses which was a waaaaay easier mechanic to figure out but havent touched this guy yet. To get ult valbys last piece id much rather spend 20 hours (10 mins a run give or take a few minutes) farming out 100 mutant AA 44 amorphous and nuke swamp walker on normal for a chance at 6% drop then ever do the frost walker again. I beat him once and until hes adjusted any item he may drop doesnt exist to me.
No, that guy griefed/trolled the shit outta y'all in that 2nd Frost fight. Literally why I've not been to keen to finish progressing thru the hard bosses until i need something from their pattern that can't be gotten any other way.
Some of the mechanics are really tough to get through in a public group. I almost wanted to quit when dealing with Executioner Hard. Ironically he's not that hard to beat, but there are a few key things to know. He's basically a DPS and Gear check Boss that you must at least have your gear worked up a bit to damage him enough and to survive. The problem I ran into in public groups mostly were people not knowing that Absolute Curse mod makes the fight easier by removing his Defense Buff when breaking parts. Too many people get excited to break parts and even trying to explain over chat, it wasn't getting through to folks that the mod was needed to help the fight. I wish there was a tutorial to give basic info on requirements for bosses since some don't do extra research outside of the game. When I say it took me over 20 times with public groups to kill Executioner hard I am not exaggerating. When I see this boss I initially get excited then frustrated knowing what is possibly ahead of me.
Imagine a game with a learning curve. Most people will break but stay the course of believing in yourself, you will be surprised.
Nothing to do with learning curves when your progress is based around bad mechanics and relying on people
99% of the time those people will ruin your chance of beating a boss.
Tip when shooting the battery on frost walker enrage phase it's to do it when his charging his cannons cause he stops moving and its enough time to destroy 1 battery by urself and if you get agro don't run away just dodging the bullets so ur allies don't have to chase it while shootin the battery also the top weak point on it's head gives 3 flame best to shoot that first.

i think bosses like the frost walker encourage team play, and by that i don't mean team play with randoms you just loaded in with i mean seeking out people in the community to play with rather then just being solo all the time, i couldn't imagine playing this game on my own relying on randoms who i happen to get. i have two friends that i play with and two of us are just helping the third get to the point where he can be useful against the hard mode bosses
It’s a great game but finding good teammates to fight the bosses is the problem. That makes the game very challenging and frustrating at the same time
Can't afford an Ultimate character, too expensive tbh. Also grinding an Ultimate seems to be to much work since i only have the weekends off. Personally i'll stick to the regular descendants until one day the devs make farming much easier for guys like me who work 5 days a week at long hours.
Gley is my favorite and first descendent I played, I liked how tanky she is and her move set for me and no I don't have any ultimates yet the grind continues for them

Maybe next time try using a Scout Riffle like Hero's Scar to shoot at the leg batteries... I know it won't solve the issues of getting team mates who don't know what to do, but it makes shooting the batteries so much easier, even on console (I'm a PS5 player)! Just don't put Action & Reaction on it, you do not want that extra recoil if you already have a hard time aiming... Also, I found leg batteries easier to shoot at when you have a side view of them, if that makes sense...
You have to be up high, it's not recommendation it's a requirement to beat this boss. The fires drop from small breakable spheres on his head and on both his shoulders ( can't target them from the ground ), not the breakable shoulders, his actual shoulders ( fires themselves can end up on everything same as his drops, you need to pay attention where 6 of them are ). Whoever is gathering the flames shouldn't fire at all and avoid agro at all cost because boss will apply freeze debuff and you lose 1 fire. 1 Lepic with a bit of luck is more than enough to kill Frost Walker before mechanics kick in, I've done it enough times joining random fights.
Frost Walker (and "insufficient rounds") MADE me quit actually!
I honestly like the FrostWalker Boss.. it can be a pain sometimes with randoms especially with the ember mechanic.. Wipe always comes at around 7 mins 30 secs... then another wipe in about 4 mins 30 secs i believe.. teamwork is absolutely essential.. its like playing Dead by daylight with randoms and everyone's on the same wavelength without speaking a word...
Every single boss in the game is annoying by design in my opinion but I can’t truly say as to why, on one hand it’s probably to make you pay money but on another hand… it makes you have to actually build your characters and the bosses feel like they are actually trying to kill you and a boss should feel that way,
I wish the bosses had way better designs yes because the bosses don’t always make it easy to see what you’re suppose to do in a random party that’s my biggest problem with the design, and they could be more fun but I feel like the devs want it to be hard at first.
Favorite descendant is now, Lepic, it’s so satisfying watching the entire map get sucked in and blown up.
When I first started I did buy ult gley, getting your first ultimate character really does speed up progress.
Just about all the descendants can melt bosses. I did it with Lepic like a week ago now I'm doing it with Sharen and her invis and blade spam, or sniper build. And I just saw a Kyle build that basically turns him into a nuke.
Gleys with good sniper rifles are really good for Frost Walker since ammo is not an issue and you can obliterate the weak points.
Most people don't have a good sniper rifle.
I disagree with your take on the fact that if you need a specific loadout to beat a boss, then it's bad game design. This is end game content and you should be very well prepared. If you're going into Frost Walker and every time you try to destroy weak points without going at a good height and without using the right weapons, you have to question yourself.
Passing this boss requires a lot of grinding and preparation... I feel like people don't want to do that and just want to be carried

To get the flames to drop you need to damage/destroy weak points but the boss genuinely isn’t hard if everyone just knows what they’re doing I do agree breaking the weak points while he moves on controller is just unfair the boss is made much harder by randoms being randoms
cant even decide who my favorite descendant is but its definitely between freyna and ultimate gley theyre both so fun to play in their own way

Viessa is my favorite descendant because ice is coo;l and all of her abilities are continuously fun to use.
I used to be a professional dancer though so I bet I'm going to like Luna once I get her. I've bought a regular descendant once before but not an ultimate

Yeah they usually carry me when they start unloading bombs on it, so glad too cause I don’t have anything to do decent damage to frost walker
I did this boss weeks ago. Just LFG for people who know the mechanic or carry the orbs yourself. I did with Ajax.
