    Starving and Calorie deficit diets sucks arse at the start. 4 years of healthy eating and gym has kept weight off but its hard work. They never tell you it's hard work at the start. But now it's a normal way of life. Calorie calculator works subconsciously and weekly gym routine is now just as important for mental health as it is for physical health. First couple years sucks, but it's worth it sticking to what works.

    My biggest problem has been snacking or thinking of food constantly all day long, including evening. I.F. has solved that problem and I've lost 8 lbs. in the first week. I've couple it with low carb diet, somewhere in between Keto and Carnivorous and am sure I can stick to it.

      @brendaarnold9090 2 месяца назад +1

      I just started, so far I like 18/6, playing around with it, do you move your window around?, and the idea of autophagy is awesome, right now dealing with intermittent mild constipation and waking up way too early.

    • @homomorphic
      @homomorphic 2 месяца назад

      @@brendaarnold9090 i do move the window, but not more than an hour. My window starts between 11am and 12pm and ends between 5pm and 6pm. So some days the fast might be 17 hrs and some days 19 hrs.
      This relatively tight consistency is important for circadian rhythm. Anything you can do to increase the consistency of daily patterns will help with your sleep and digestion.
      Shift work should be illegal, frankly. It is so deleterious to health.

    I actually used that NF article to get me into I.F. I don't use it any more all the time (because I need something before I workout in the mornings), but it's great for time, stomach health, discipline. There's more to fasting that regular caloric restriction, but I agree that you can totally negate the benefits if you stuff yourself when it's eating time.

    I am going to try IF 16/8. Again not for weight loss but for health. Basically skipping breakfast , so lets see how this goes....its 11/1/24, let it begin 😊

    Soon as you stop fasting you start putting on weight. Fasting just killing yourself starving yourself just to gaining weight and become more fat than you were before fasting.
    I did 18 hrs fasting a few times for 3 months each time. Lost 3 lbs buy eating only one meal per day and gained 9 lbs after stopped fasting. I have discovered eating 3 meals a day or only one meal a day made no difference to me. I felt more tired as usually. What did I do wrong? Here it is. Instead of spreading out the calories throughout the day I dumped all at once. You need to cut calories and ditch added sugar completely in order to make it work.

    • @NerdFitness

      If you're going by definition of fasting - yes, liquid calories would break that fast.
      There are no fasting police that are going to arrest you though. Adjust things to fit your situations best!

    Very important speech. Sad for most of us with english as our second language(90% of YT), that there is an super annoying and meaningless noise (computer muzak) overdubbing the voice, that makes it totally impossible to concentrate on to what you are saying. Most will flee within one minute, and find a more professional video on the subject.

    For me losing weight with it has been easy and I haven’t lessened the amount of calories. The mental stress over it has increased though because I have to pay attention to more about my schedule what to eat how much and when. Much easier when I just ate whenever and whatever.
