Just to clarify. Mace, the self-defense spray, is phenacyl chloride aka tear gas. Mace, the spice, is the red coating that surrounds nutmeg when it gets shelled. Mace, the weapon, is of course a medieval spiked club.
All my years of D&D are about to pay off. Lol. A mace is not spiked. Its just a handle with a metal ball at the end. If a mace is spiked, it is referred to as a morning star. Yay D&D powers.
@@jelhugoltubert715 you're describing a single type of mace. I should have really said spiked or flanged clubs, and mace heads have been made out of a variety of materials since the paleolithic era.

Might I suggest recreating the Funerary Feast of King Midas, 8th Century BCE? Archaeologists discovered Midas' tomb in 1957 and scientists and paleobotanists determined the foods that were present, including a beer that was recreated and is sold today as Midas Touch beer.
I've always thought that Jos and Emily would be great drinking buddies. It's highly likely they're always drunk when they're together.

I love how this costume makes Emily look like a middle school boy participating in the sunday school play whenever she looks down over the beard
The communal oven is still a much used and desperately needed thing that happens today all over the world. Not everybody can afford their own, so usually they pay a small rate or give some of the food to have the community oven cook the meals. I’ve even watched videos about them in places from Mexico to Africa. Sounds kinda great really. Many modern nations are trying to create community kitchens where everybody comes together to share food to make great meals for those who want it. I’d love to try it.
It a great way to meet the community. Years ago we had a big ice storm. Power was out for 4 days. I got out my gas grill/range and called my neighbor She posted on the next door app..."Hot grill tonight", and my address. People came from blocks away. Family, some friends I hadn't seen in a long time! Everyone coming together to eat and get a little drunk. Strangers all going through this shared experience with one another. People were grilling everything from carne asada with peppers and onions, pork loin, baked potatoes, corn on the cob. Some teenagers even showed up with a stack of frozen totinos pizzas! Lol. It was so cool to see the community come together like that. My mom even paid for a family to stay at a Holiday inn for 2 nights. Really shined a new light on what we take for granted vs where people really are in their lives. How something so simple can bring everyone to the same level
Sounds like a great way to spread these new illnesses going around! Sign me up!

Dude! All the joking and theatrics aside...this is wicked proper! That is some beautiful food. Anchove sauces and gravies are underrated. The anchovie adds saltiness and richness to somany dishes. More people should try it. It's great in moderation in lentil soup. Great vid josh
I always add it to my marinara sauce. It elevates it SO much.
@@PhantomMoocat YES. Adding anchovies to pasta sauce changed the game for me. It's so underrated. Also anchovies on good fresh bread??? Amazing!! It took me 27 years of life to find out that anchovies are actually good!
