They sometimes come to me as these beautiful symbols of life, giving me profound realizations from time to time. Hehe. In 2017, the ocean waves have been trying to tell me something. They told me the turbulence but also peace in life. The year before that, I related a lot to turtles. How their life is so full even with its slow pace. This is so beautiful but also very painful and sad. It reminds me of the time I lost a very precious friendship that made me feel so alone and made me feel that there was something wrong with me, that somehow, the core of my being is an abomination. It made me fear that I will forever be alone in life and that the remaining friends that I have will also be eventually disgusted at me and never accept me again. It also made me remember those lonely and depressed moments when I felt so helpless in life, and I would often just cry alone due to disillusionment, the death of some of my loved ones, and most of all, due to the problems that I encountered for the past three years that never seemed to come to an end. I shut off many people and am now only regaining the courage to really become vulnerable and take risks in all areas of my life again. It was not the best track to take, but I found that those lonely moments became my launching pad to healing and regaining my sense of self and purpose. In the midst of the loneliness, I also remember feeling a sense of "peace" I could not quite explain, but it was there somehow, which seems to me now as an inner feeling that those struggles will soon pass and it is okay to want to be alone for now and figure my feelings and thoughts out by myself, and not let others dictate what life should be and how I should behave or think or love. This song perfectly encapsulates this musing but in reality, my words will never be enough to express how much I am grateful to this song and to you Kina for inspiring me all the time and for helping me recall this phase and become more grateful in life for the healing and peace that I am now experiencing. Thank you so much KIna!!!
