I like the modular nature of the neca sets (how you can put any expression with any mask on any turtle) but i do appreciate how much customization and individuality Mezco put into this set. Makes it fill worth the price because theres so little re-use.
This was an amazing review on these amazing figures. I love how you went over everything and the size comparisons that had a little bit of everything to ensure everybody could tell the size of these. I had seen some people complain on Facebook that these are too small, and I have no idea what they ate talking about. The size is perfect on these. I didn't get these, but oh, was I tempted! The blending of Mirage with Playmates and original cartoon is done so well. It feels like it is probably 85-90% Mirage, which you can't go wrong there!

Very detailed and meticulous review Wade. IMO these are the best Turtles to date! My previous favorite were Super7 ultimates Turtles but these are so much better. Paint and detail wise is fantastic, Mezco did an absolutely amazing job here. Just wish they would've done something similar with the 89 Batman.

damn, now i want a second set as a spare :D... yeah it's not cheap but I wouldn't say it is expensive when you consider what you get, a premium product, and I'm not just talking about all the accessories, but the attention to detail and finish i.e. sculpting the ball joins (wrists and legs), the stitching, soft goods, pouches, etc... if you consider the price and what you get, it is very well priced... $100 per turtle it's cheaper than the man of steel edition mezco does with same levels of accessories... but again, I don't think taking a couple accessories off from the set would have reduced the price when you think about the craftsmanship that went into them... my 2 cents lol

Would have been cool to include a Klunk from his one off comic but won't complain for the accessories we did get BTW Raphs secondary weapon is called Tonfa. Alot of the weapons were part of the 88 Playmates figures

These are an absolute home run Grand Slam actually... I think the only thing I don't care about much are the effects. It makes them look cartoony, only one I like is Michelangelo's twirling nunchuck

The Turtle colors are a throwback to the original playmate’s figure coloration.
I don’t know, they seem to be more from the 2012 colorations
Mikey was dark forest green and Raph was lime green from the original Playmates toys. Here, they’re color swapped so yeah, they’re 2012 colors.

For me, it’s just because his belts are the easiest to remove. Raph’s come off easy too but he’s a little more bulk. Same articulation points though.
