I literally had more or less this scenario play out in my last game. One of the neighboring empires discovered a ruined Dyson Sphere. Initially, I had plans to conquer it, but was forced to put those plans on hold after the Grey Tempest event occurred. For a while, I straight up forgot about the Dyson Sphere. Eventually, my empire completed its Strategic Coordination Center. As a result, my fleet capacity improved massively and was followed by a massive increase in military spending as a commissioned hundreds of new ships. However, the massive new fleet that I had built put significant strain on my energy output, leading to impending financial collapse. I needed a quick source of energy to stabilize my economy. That's when I got the message, informing me that the other empire had finally completed its project to restore the Dyson Sphere. Well... the convenient timing was not lost on me. I mobilizes my massive, expanded navy and declared war on the empire to seize its Dyson Sphere. Little did I know, the empire had powerful friends. This resulted in me getting sucked into a war with a federation which included 2 of the most powerful members of the galactic community. While it was a relatively short war, it was still a bloody one. With my fleet having to expend ships to keep the Dyson Sphere empire's allies from reinforcing it in the main theater of operations. In the end, I won, at a heavy cost. But it was worth it.

No. In the game, the Commonwealth of Man (The fanatically Militarist Xenophobic lost colonists who left Earth a century prior to the start date 2200) uses Wormhole Stations in order to go FTL. This is because the United Nations of Earth (The fanatically Egalitarian Xenophiles who united Earth a little over a century prior to the start date 2200) was testing out new FTL Methods for the "Ulysses Initiative". They used wormholes, but then all five ark ships vanished without a trace, and so the UNE abandoned them and took to work on the Warp Drive. "Control the entire galaxy" *Me one own built Dyson sphere and a stolen one later** : Ayo all my energy credits are going into buying rare crystals and gas ;-;
Well, given the recently released story trailer of Stellaris: Apocalypse the entire Commonwealth of Man is no longer all that... unpleasant. Not at all.
1:21 Too bad they removed the Multi-FTL model for the generic Hyperspace lane one. One of the main draws of the original Stellaris before 2.0 was the ability to choose between Warp, Hyperdrive and Wormhole FTL systems and seeing how the different Empires with different FTL can interact with each other.
On my last playthrough as rogue servitors an empire (including its vassals) controlling nearly 40% of a large galaxy declared total war on me. Only about six months before the contingency had arrived and I was barely able to build up additional fleets to keep from being completely overrun fighting a two front war. I was running a deficit of nearly 1000 EC every month for about 10 years until I spotted a dyson sphere that was sitting only three hyperlanes away from my main ingress into their space. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone! After grabbing their dyson the tide immediately turned, my economy was now firmly out of the red and I'd crippled the empire that made up about 30% of my enemies' naval strength. Ended up conquering about 90% of their space and well over a thousand biotrophies while kicking out the contingency with my freed up fleets.
The UNE will not stand for this un provoked aggression and is prepared to deliver harsh sanctions against the Commonwealth if they do not cease their hostile actions immediately.
"Prepared to deliver harsh sanctions against the Commonwealth?" WE ARE THE ONES WHO JUDGE. WE ARE THE ONES WHO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO NO ONE STANDS AGAINST THE COMMONWEALTH *NO ONE*
Vassals? Those who are weak hide in power porjections, pushing fear into their enemies only to hide their military weakness. No. The Commonwealth demands full annexation. Our ancestors came from earth, it is time to take what is ours by birthright. Humanity Belongs to Earth, and Unity. Bring the UNE down, ravage their fleet, leave their shipyars in shambles. For we shall re take earth and bring Order to the Corrupt UNE. For the Commonwealth, for the grand marshall; For Humanity's Survival!
Now, watching this trailer, i think that the real porpouse of the Commonwealth of man was to use the Dyson Sphere as an Asterophasic Machine, ascending to a new order of progress in the Shround. It just me that think that "Becomes the crises" fits very well with the Commonwealth?

War remained with us during the War of Planets. Then it continued in the First and Second Solar War. As a result of this blood shed, we lost millions of lives and 2 satellite moons on Saturn and Mars. We owe it to the species to achieve peace. We owe it to our children and our children's children, to end the blood shed. Not for the Mars Federation or the Saturn Confederacy, for the sake of humanity. We all, as descendants of Earth, owe it to our own species, to put down the weapons of death and embrace each other with a shared pain. We have all lost loved ones in the Wars of Humanity. We must end this now. Let the future generations of our species tell the Galaxy for centuries to come, that when no star shined upon humanities future, the human race shined brightest together. Three years later...
"I am the sphere!"
Dozens of empires, hundreds of species, thousands of scientists, millions of stars, billions of years…
…and the entire galaxy still can’t tell the difference between a sphere and a dodecahedron.
"Control the entire galaxy"
*Me one own built Dyson sphere and a stolen one later** : Ayo all my energy credits are going into buying rare crystals and gas ;-;
Not motes?! Or Darkmatter?!
Now we just need a launch trailer featuring the three ascension paths! Biological, Mechanical and Psionic! HYPED!
@Reee Monro Wormhole was OP, compared to the other two.
Long Live the Commonwealth of Man!
Liked the video as soon as I read the description. Great Sci-fi shoutout!
Humanity Conquers All!
GREATER TERRAN UNION!!!!!
I just played Stellaris and Commonwealth of Man is my first faction, they looks cool in this trailer
The UNE will not stand for this un provoked aggression and is prepared to deliver harsh sanctions against the Commonwealth if they do not cease their hostile actions immediately.
The Commonwealth stands united in it's contempt for the weaker nations of humanity.
Perhaps you need some reeducation.
"Prepared to deliver harsh sanctions against the Commonwealth?"
WE ARE THE ONES WHO JUDGE.
WE ARE THE ONES WHO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO
NO ONE STANDS AGAINST THE COMMONWEALTH *NO ONE*
After three years, this becomes a reality in the new dlc
@@praytells Heck yeah! DEMOCRACY RULES.
Now, watching this trailer, i think that the real porpouse of the Commonwealth of man was to use the Dyson Sphere as an Asterophasic Machine, ascending to a new order of progress in the Shround.
It just me that think that "Becomes the crises" fits very well with the Commonwealth?
“Where multitudes of species coexist and thrive” By coexist you mean serving in a eternal state slavery and thrive by losing half of their lives due to extreme work conditions, then yes.
lel what?
@@DanJuega it is stellaris, war crimes is a must in this game
@@pietro3477 Nah. I'm all star trek on that shit.
@@DanJuega visible disgust
Laughs in Utopian Abundance
Then there's the few of us who just build our own Sphere..

I wish they'd add a glasses option, that guy behind the Human leader looks neat
We hope you could take our money away more efficiently the next time, this release date is honestly too long to be waited for.
They should have announced the dlc like, 2 weeks before the release.
MY BODY IS READY!
This gives me the Warhammer 40k Vibes
haha, I like how the Commonwealth of Man ftl method is wormhole.
"numerous worlds where multitudes of species coexist and thrive..."
I was about to close the video until I saw they were ficitional aliens,
then the Human Empire - Military Nationalists :) oh yes this is more to my liking
Now that's a real trailer right there! good job paradox !
FOR THE FEDERATION
Although one persons utopia may be another's dystopia. It doesn't mean that most people do not share the same vision of what their utopia is.
is the background music will be in the dlc ?
I have heard there getting new music for the game.
I've been saving my money for 3 months waiting for this... Now that it's announced, I can't wait another month.
Ah yes, the classic realism and liberalism explained in two minutes video.
In memory of Freeman Dyson.
Give this company a oscar
0:11 the intro music : my name is barry allen and I'm the fastest man alive
Peace and prosperity. Love it. But only for my species!!!!!!
"For centuries, our kind have raged war upon each other. From the lonely planet of our home world, we fought over race, recourses, and religion. When our people achieved the power of sailing and flight, we believed it would unite us. Yet we waged war. When our people went to space, we believed that war was left on Earth. As our galactic neighbors pitied us, we assassinated peace makers and world leaders just to gain another asteroid of iron. Is this our destiny? Are we to end our own species over resources? Is the cost of humanity worth an extra credit on the market? No! Never again! I bring forth a proposal. Not for the sake of the Earth Union. Let us light the way for our children, and pass the Humanity Accords. For Humanity, for Unity, for the future of our species!"
