Thank you for this. I'm 35 and grew up in Queens. Left NYC back in 2011... Came back in 2022. Every time I go past Court Square it breaks my heart. LIC as a whole...It'll never be the same... My first job ever as a teenager doing deliveries, was for an illicit company that rented office space/loading dock at the Phun Phactory/5Pointz... I used to chill on the loading dock facing towards the P.S. 1/MoMA place all day after finishing my deliveries in the city watching people film music videos in front of the building. Had the privilege of having BBQ parties on the rooftop every now and then... I still remember the first time I pushed open those doors, I got chills looking at all that art.

Cool video. I remember when it was called the Phun Factory. If I remember you'd have to get permission from Pat he used to run it around 1996. I remember seeing the 7 line stations that way in 1997. The stations were destroyed. They were doing the renovations around that time.

Extra dope to see this one! Thanks for the footage, documentation, insight etc. Seeing 5 points as a visitor back in the day was truly an amazing sight to see. I wish it didn't go down like it did and of course think the dude that bought it and changed it sucks, the whole scenario was wack... BUT I'm just saying that its a reminder that graffiti is ephemeral and not forever. This should of been preserved though obviously... Another Banger!!!🙏

bro the first time I went there it was for a rave for new years eve '01. I was 14 and took my first e-pill haha. Everyone called it phun factory. It was nighttime so I couldn't see any of the graffiti. Then I tagged along with some people to "5 pointz", a few months later, not knowing it was the same place until I arrived. I was like "wow this place looks a lot different in the day time".

This is a good story. My boy Dizm who used to hang with us there at 5 points, he was doing a sign job a few blocks away with a boom lift. He told me he was gonna come by, so he did. Me, Dizm, JERMS aka DJJS-1, Meres , did those first middle spot. Rymz was my hip hop group partner Jak Danielz aka Rymz. Meres did that for him. Great times. I have tons of flicks from these days.
