"I'm the Greatest" is a song written by John Lennon for Ringo Starr; both former members of the music group The Beatles. It was released by Starr on the 1973 Ringo album and several compilation and live albums.
On this track, Starr is lead vocalist and plays drums, Lennon plays the piano and sings harmony vocals and George Harrison plays electric guitar; Billy Preston on organ and Klaus Voormann on bass. It's one of just a handful of non-Beatles songs to feature three members of the band. Richard Perry produced the recording.
At this point after the end of The Beatles as a band, three of them-Starr, Lennon and Harrison-in addition to Voormann and Preston (sometimes referred to as "Fifth Beatles"), appear on this record. It sounds very much like something off of Let It Be, with its texture, lyrics (using "Billy Shears", Ringo's alias on Sgt. Pepper) and public noises insinuating Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Not surprisingly, when word of that session hit the media, furious Beatles reunion rumours (the first of several) began spreading.
I'm The Greatest is the only record which matches the line up of a post-Beatles Group "The Ladders", which George Harrison intended to install with his two former band mates and other fellow musicians like Voormann and Preston. The Traveling Wilburys in the late 1980s was another effort of Harrison to create a supergroup with friends.

My brother met Ringo once. He said that Ringo was a very nice guy, very friendly and down to Earth. That didn't surprise me one bit.

Ringo, with his good but not spectacular voice sounds very much like he did in the 1960s and 70s.He is a legend. At almost 84,he still has it.

Fun Fact: Peter Frampton, playing guitar in this version of the All-Starr Band, played "Billy Shears" in the 1977 "Sgt Pepper" movie.

Yes, it was very highly hyped. It came out on the 10th anniversary of the original album in 1977 and there were rumors The Beatles would be involved. Other than George Martin and Billy Preston nobody Beatles oriented was involved but they did have an all star musical cast. As far as the "movie" plot line, it was pretty dumb so it was maybe similar to Yellow Submarine.

I love this tune and I LOVE your interpretation! So cool that John wrote it for himself but handed it over to you. Honestly it's just something uch a bad@$$ tune...you, John, George...but no, you're the one. You truly are. And what a fabulous voice you have!

I saw this tour in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Palace Theater(which no longer exists) but the band was great as bands go and put on a very good concert! And just for the record, Ringo is a far better drummer and musician than some give credit for.

Ringo sings a few songs I like but, Jesus is the Greatest! Jesus said, Anyone who exalts him/her-self, will be humbled." That, "Pride comes before a fall." Only God is great. We human beings are wonderfully made in the image of God, but are never good or powerful as God. Not even close. Ringo does not know God. He knows how to meditate to entities he does not know, but if he did know them he would be terrified because they are spiritual demon beings who follow Satan. Hinduisms 3 million plus "gods" are demonic fallen angels who are cursed of the true God Jesus. These gods are the beings that tell you to kill yourself or others. To do any and every kind of evil known to God and man. Charles Manson had at least one of these demon gods walk with him in prison until he died and went to hell. Marilyn Manson also communes with these demons of hell. They don't want to be alone in hell, and are so evil they want you to suffer with them for ever in the Lake of Fire. Don't be fooled. Repent to the only Savior and God Jesus today before it is too late. There are no second chances after your physical death. Jesus' word says, "It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement." "Today is the day of salvation," Repent!

“So then, here’s the drama. My metaphysics, let me be perfectly frank with you, is that there is the central Self, you can call it God, you can call it anything you like, and it’s All of Us. It’s playing all the parts of All Beings whatsoever everywhere and anywhere.
And it’s playing the game of hide and seek with itself. It gets lost, it gets involved in the farthest-out adventures, but in the end it always wakes up and comes back to itself. And when you’re ready to wake up, you’re going to wake up, and if you’re not ready you’re going to stay pretending that you’re just a ‘poor little me.’

God means "Supreme Being". He is holy, which means He is "set apart" from us. We are only human, made by God. We can never be God, nor gods, as there are no gods; but only One God (whose existence is a Trinity of Father, Son, Holy Spirit). Together they share One glory, One power, a perfect Oneness.
Science does not prove God, because God is the creator of all the science; which means He exists outside of its laws, which for us are limitations; but for Him are alterable, without consequences. For us, there will be consequence.
Much like the Jim Carry movie, "Bruce Almighty" when he "lassos the moon" and causes catastrophic storms, due to altering weather patterns by these actions." Which means, truthfully, he was not given all wisdom and knowledge, as God has, or there would not have been consequences.
This is why man should not play God. With finite knowledge, the consequences reveal themselves through trial and error and we may not be able to recover from the error.
