The only thing from my early gaming days I truly regret is not putting enough effort into mastering Quake movement when I had the time and the neuroplasticity to do it.
Not giving yourself enough credit on the neuroplasticity part. If I can pull off getting into shmups as late as I did, you can pull off becoming good at bhops, man.
I want to know if the person who made the map was able to complete it in a single run or if it was pieced together from tricks the author knew were possible and then assumed a full run was possible. I love how close you constantly get to dying too. Anyway, you've got some mad skills! I don't think I'll ever finish (or even attempt) this one.
Anybody know whats with the weird walking pattern at 34? It looks indirect and slightly slow, but I can't imagine the runner would have done anything inefficient here...
Remember, this is a first completion of this map without save states (this map is insanely hard), not a speedrun although chamburs is blazingly fast, i suppose he just needed to adjust for a prestrafe after making the hard part, so he doesn't mess up after getting so far

It's not a boomer shooter, it's a boomer surfer
a lot of what made surf possible is because of sources idtech roots
words cant express the joy i get from this smooth run
Wow, this is like Defrag but in Quake 1. Amazing to see!

Probably tried each area, made sure it was possible.
I have completed it in a single run, although not without saves. I could try go for it tho.
As for health, it's carefully balanced ;)

Commentary RUclipsrs in 1996:
Quake meets Tribes.
I'm flabbergasted.
How many attempts?
Quite a few.. It took about 3-4hrs all together, and I failed the final double-boost 5 times in total.. :D
good job maaan.
Openarena rocket sound.
This is worse (difficulty wise) than tf2 jurf maps. At least you don't get collision stuck... Great run!
Sonic, is it you?
i first time played this type of maps on cs 1.6, but because quake is older than cs 1.6, probably maps were just copied from quake
